TEN-FOUR

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this week is flying by, like a gazelle having acid reflux and the heartbreak of psoriasis.  I do believe I have eaten one sweet too many this evening and therefore I am feeling like I want to vomit on the ground.  I had some chocolate mousse and I had a finger-sized piece of cake, but very rich cake, which I, of course, prefer to very poor cake.  I am thinking two or three more Pepcids might help me make it through the night.

Yesterday was a fascinatingly fascinating day.  I was up at ten after about six hours of sleep. The garage people came at ten-thirty. They quickly removed all the boxes of my books (I kept five of each) and then that shelving unit and finally I have room to walk around in there.  After they left, I went through a few more boxes, still not finding my digital video tapes. But slowly but surely I’m getting things to where I can find them and getting through all the boxes.

Then I had a visit from a dealer, who bought a few CDs. Then I spent an hour in the garage arranging things.  We still have one more session, hopefully Wednesday, and then all will be well, garage-wise.  After that, I went and got some Taco Bell for food.  I came home and ate it all up.  Then I finished casting the August show, save for perhaps one or two guest stars. So, now I can choose songs.  I’ll hear some of the rare stuff I’ve found over the weekend.

Then I went to the mail place and picked up a couple of packages and most importantly an important envelope, which actually arrived via Fed Ex. So, there’s a little bit of trickiness to figure out, but it will make the next few months very pleasant, at least that’s the hope.  Then I came home and sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I watched four more episodes of Highway Patrol. The real issue with watching all these episodes is that I end each telephonic call by saying, “Ten-four.”  I say “ten-four” when I leave the mail place, after I order food – I mean enough with the “ten-four” already.  Actually, let’s just say “ten-four” to this paragraph, shall we.

After that, I wrote a tune to this lyric I found – probably from the 1980s – I rather liked the lyric and had no clew what the original tune might have been, so came up with something perky for it and we’ll see if I like it and if I do maybe we’ll debut it in one of the next two Kritzerland shows.

I did more work on the computer and then tried to do a cassette transfer with my USB cassette – not sure I did it right since I’m only hearing one channel.  It goes into garage band, which is very complicated, at least for me.  But there’s software for this machine, so I may download it and give it a whirl and see what that reveals.

Today, I’m not sure what’s going on, save for more garage organizing.  Oh, I’ll eat, hopefully pick up some packages, and choose songs.  Then I’ll watch something and relax.

The rest of the week is meetings and meals, seeing a show, and doing whatever needs doing.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do more garage organizing, hopefully pick up packages, eat, choose songs, and relax.  Today’s topic of discussion: What are your most horrifying embarrassing moments? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland – ten-four.
