180% AND THE BIG PUSH TO THE FINISH LINE AND INFINITY AND BEYOND

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, even though tomorrow officially begins our final Indiegogo week, I like to start our push on a Monday.  I’d say we had the usual and predictable slow third week if we hadn’t actually gone from 165% to 180% – it was just the last few days that were really slow.  But, here we are and it’s time for the big push to the finish line and it’s more important than ever to go to infinity and beyond because the Indiegogo fees are now quite high and worse they have this new thing where they withhold five percent of your total – for SIX MONTHS.  I’m quite perturbed about this – the idea is that all this money is going directly to the project we’re doing NOW, not in six months, and every cent of it is going to this project.  So, not only are they taking their large fees, we lose even more.  Yes, we’ll get it back in six months, which is just absurd any way you look at it.  They do this in case people change their minds or we have chargebacks, whatever THAT is. The fact that I’ve done so many of these and that has NEVER EVER been an issue, and the fact that we’ll be sending out the perks very quickly on this one – well, what exactly are they gonna do for six months – oh, that’s right – earn interest on OUR money.  In any case, I’ll be putting up new perks this morning – in fact, I already put one up last night and it’s fun if you’re into that sort of thing.

You may remember a couple of years ago I was commissioned to write a song for a mom and her two daughters to sing at an event honoring hubby/dad.  I had a good time doing it and it went over amazingly well.  So, I’ve made a perk of an original song by the likes of me.  A piece of special material for anything the taker would like – a personal song, a song for a club act, an event, a loved one, whatever it is – the taker merely tells me the subject and what they’d like it to say and I write an original song.  I’m only offering one and while it’s pricey, I suppose, it is WAY below what people usually charge for special material and believe me I know what Billy Barnes used to charge and it was way more than this, like five times this. So, spread the word, put it in any groups you think might like any of our perks, and let’s see how high we can go – my dream goal is, of course, 200% but why not simply shoot for the moon. The fact is, we’re less than $1,000 away from 200%.  Here is the handy-dandy direct link.  It will be worth checking out daily until we’re done because I’m putting up perks left and right, up and down, sideways, every day in every way. So, if you haven’t, come on in, the water’s fine.

Yesterday wasn’t much of a day.  I didn’t get up until one after ten hours of very needed sleep.  I answered e-mails, decided I would do not a whit of work, listened to music, and then went to the mail place and picked up two Sunday packages.  Then I went across the street to Gelson’s and bought one onion and two chicken breasts. I came home and made faux chicken stroganoff over rice.  I must say, it was quite yummilicious, very filling, and less than 1000 calories.

I had a couple of telephonic calls, listened to quite a bit of music, had some texting volleys, and sat at the piano and noodled.  That was pretty much it.

Today, I’ll be up by ten-thirty at the latest, put up some new perks and start our big final week push as we head toward the finish line. I’ll hopefully pick up packages, eat, begin two sets of liner notes, and begin making with the bullet points for the three commentaries on Wednesday.  I’m going to rest my voice today and tomorrow, so I’m in good shape for Wednesday.  Then I’ll relax.

Tomorrow will be more of the same.  Wednesday, I do my solo commentary at eleven.  If we begin on time, that will wrap at 12:25.  Then I have a thirty-five-minute break.  Cindy Williams then arrives and at one we do our commentary.  That will wrap at 2:25. She’ll leave and Marshall Harvey will arrive and we’ll begin our commentary at 3:00.  That will wrap at 4:25. And then Marshall and I will head over to a nearby restaurant and Cindy will meet us there at five.  And we’ll have a nice dinner. Thursday I have a work session, then I have to relax and get ready for our busy Kritzerland rehearsal week.  I may do an interview over the weekend for a Doris Day documentary.

Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloon, let’s all break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, let’s all dance the Hora and the Wah-Watusi, for today is the birthday of our very own wonderful dear reader Jrand.  So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to our very own wonderful dear reader Jrand.  On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OUR VERY OWN WONDERFUL DEAR READER JRAND!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, put up new perks and begin our final push to the finish line, hopefully pick up packages, eat, write some liner notes, make bullet points for the three commentaries, rest my voice, and relax.  Today’s topic of discussion:  Aside from our campaigns, what other Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns have you contributed to, did you get your perks, and were you satisfied with whatever thing you were backing?  Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to be at 180% and hoping as we begin our final push to the finish line that we go to infinity and beyond.  Here’s hoping.
