11/13/2001:
"WELL, WELL, WELL"

Photo of Bruce Kimmel

bk's notes II

Has anyone noticed that there are three "wells" in the title above? I don't know what happened. I typed one "well" and suddenly I couldn't stop, I just had to type two more "wells" - Well, well, well, is what I say.

Has anyone noticed that I just started a new paragraph? That is because Mr. Mark Bakalor wrote me yesterday and told me that it would be easier reading if I had more paragraphs.

Yes, here's another paragraph, because that Mr. Mark Bakalor said it must be so.

I don't know, I like longer paragraphs, don't you, dear readers? In any case, here it is, Tuesday. I'm about to go out and do some errands, but I thought I'd update my blog or journal or column or notes or whateveritisyoucallthisdamnthing. Oops, it's time to click that unseemly button below, you know, the one that says, "Read More". I'd like to rename that button Unseemly Button, wouldn't you? Click away.

Whew, just in the nick of time. "Nick of Time". Is that like "Earl of Hour"? Or "Duke of Minute"? Just asking. One of the comments from yesterday asked me what my novel is about. First off, don't you think it's novel that I have written a novel? I suppose the easiest way to describe my book is to say that it's a thinly veiled fiction of my childhood through age 10. It is also a love story. Hopefully it is humorous. It is more than two hundred pages long.

I received an e-mail from someone who hoped that I would soon go public with the tale that is not a thinly veiled fiction of anything. You know, the tale. I was planning to go public with the tail, but now I have to rethink that and perhaps go public with the tale. But, we'll see how things shake out in the next few weeks. Until then, I can say nothing more than I've said. Instead, let me review another of my favorite movies, this one a favorite favorite: Rosemary's Baby.

Oh, how I love Rosemary's Baby, both book and film. It is a perfect adaptation of what I consider to be a masterpiece of horror fiction by Mr. Ira Levin (author and lyricist of Drat! The Cat!, an album I had the pleasure of producing). Rosemary's Baby is a cautionary tale about getting in bed with the devil. This movie teaches us that if you get in bed with the devil you will be screwed royally and you will begat the devil's child. Sometimes, the devil can have a charming appearance, like John Cassavetes, but not for long - soon Mr. Cassavetes is merely an onlooker and the devil takes on its own ugly slimy yellow-eyed appearance. This film is directed by Mr. Roman Polanski, and he directed it brilliantly. Great photography by William Fraker and a great score by Krystof Komeda. The cast is one of the most perfect in all film, and it includes Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, Maurice Evans, Sidney Blackmer and Ruth Gordon. The DVD is superb and I recommend it to everyone who wants to know how awful it is to get involved with the devil.

Have you all noticed that we now have handy-dandy links? Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, Mr. Mark Bakalor has provided us with handy-dandy links, and I don't mean Jimmy Dean sausages either. These links actually take you to actual places where you can order actual things. For example, if you wanted to order my latest productions,Do I Hear A Waltz? or Pete 'n' Keely, you just click on the link and you will be whisked away. Isn't that exciting? I love links. I think our links are hot, and they are not off the cuff, either.

Well, I hope these damn paragraphs haven't been too long, otherwise I'll probably get another annoying e-mail from you-know-who.

Perhaps I'm blind, but I see no handy-dandy links, except for some sausage on my desk. Why is there sausage on my desk, you ask? You'll have to ask the sausage.

Look again, big shot.

Does the sausage link that leads to a river in Brazil offer the disks with your "bonus track" or must we pay the higher price on that stupid, once-valued site to get these with the bonus? Also will I have to wait the extra time between the initial web-site release date and the in store date? (See some of us were paying attention)

I swear, they weren't there when I posted that last comment!

I'm assuming since these are both cast albums, there are no "bonus tracks" and they will be released everywhere at the same time... :) I was paying attention, too...
