Motion Picture: Singin' in the Rain (1952)
Broadway Musical: A Chorus Line (1975); Chicago (1975).
Nineteen seventy-five was a good year for two musicals. Current Favorite: Elaine Stritch At Liberty--not to be missed.

Ooooooh! Can't wait for new "First Nudie" goodies, which brings me to my most-often-seen movie. It is embarrassing how many times I have seen "First Nudie Musical" so I won't tell. It is just so darn funny...
Musical: Caberet (Alan Cummings version), I didn't see it often but it is my favorite.
Congrats Lolita! Hope your young plays turn out well.

I think we had these questions earlier, nicht wahr?
Well, I'm surely not setting any records here, but I must have seen 2002: A Space Oddessy 16 times. That doesn't count television and video tape. When I first saw it, I was so blown away that made a point of seeing it in every city I visited. So all of those 16 are in different venues, including a ship off the coast of Senegal.
Broadway musical? A Chorus Line, though I don't have an exact count. When it was on Broadway, it was my "take out of town guests" treat, so I must have sat in every section of the theatre at least once.
I must tell you all that I found a positive gem in the Archives here on haineshisway.com. It is so delightful that Bruce had a senior moment and posted it twice, on 1/16/2002 and 12/04/2002.
The Gem is one of his marvelous What If's. In fact the first time it was posted was as a part of the song "What If" that he wrote with Claibe Richardson.
And the Gem itself is "What if Frank Loesser had written Sweeney Todd?" If you haven't seen it, be prepared to fall off your chair like I did.

Has this already been a topic of discussion? My goodness, I truly am senile, but that is what happens when you write one of these things every day - you forget from time to time and also from time to time. But it's a good topic, so even if you've answered, answer again, besides we have many new readers. I think I shall now call Mr. Stephen Sondheim and ask him to rewrite his song, I Never Do Anything Twice to reflect my senility - we shall call it I Always Do Everything Twice.

NO NO NO NO, it has not already been the topic of discussion. Previously, the questions had been:
Which musical have you seen the most times ON BROADWAY?
and
Which movie have you seen most times IN THE THEATRE?
Anyway, my answers are: The Philadelphia Story (although there are many possibilities, that's the one that comes to mind at this particular moment...) and Chicago for the musical, although I've still only seen it twice.
Also, thank you very much, BK, for mentioning me. I feel as though I might tap dance.

"Casablanca" and "2001 A Space Odyssy". (The former on TV of course). "The Milagro Bean Field War" has also had many viewings in this house. "A Chorus Line" I have seen more than any other musical that has been staged professionaly her in Melbourne, but taking into account all versions, a toss up between "A Little Night Music" and "Company".
I watched "Putting It Together" this week and enjoyed it very much - far better than the Julie Andrews CD version. Which leads me to the musical I wish I had not scene (on Video) - Victor Victoria!
Fortunately it did not destroy my liking of the movie .

First, Congratulations to Lolita! Our little girl is growing up; pretty soon she'll be leaving us for the big city!
Movies most watched would have to be a toss-up between "Wizard of Oz" and "The Great Race." I watched "Oz" annually anyway, but then those were the first two movies I taped on Betamax. (Yes, I had a BetaMAx-- weighed about 40 lbs. and took up a lot of room.) So, since home VCR's were such a novelty then, EVERYONE had to watch "Wizard of Oz" and "The Great Race." "Some Like It Hot," "A New Leaf," "Casablanca," "Top Hat" and "How To Steal A Million" would have to be right up there.
Musicals? "Chorus Line" without a doubt. "Annie" might be second- either that or "La Cage" or "Hello Dolly."

I've seen
"The Producers" at least 25 times (the movie, NOT the musical - I'm in L.A., for pete's sake!)....in fact, when the musical opens here next year, I feel a slight sense of dread, since it cannot POSSIBLY make me laugh as much as the movie does!
The show I've seen the most is "A Chorus Line" - three times!
