December 11, 2003:
"A ROOM WITH A VIEW"

Photo of Bruce Kimmelbk's notes II

Well, dear readers, here it is, already Thursday, and we are working, working, working (that is three workings), trying to get the show ready to deliver to Nashville so we can get the network notes. It’s supposed to go out Monday and I don’t think there’ll be any problem getting it done by then, although I’ve already been told I’ll have to work a bit late tonight. So, I haven’t decided whether to come in a bit late, or to come in a bit late on Friday, or better yet, to leave a bit early on Friday. We’ll see how it all plays out. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Last night I began watching the new DVD of the second season of Alias. I watched the first two episodes which were on a par with the first season, although I did not like the new opening titles nearly as much. It’s still silly but fun and I like Lena Olin very much as Jennifer Garner’s mum.

I just opened the blinds in my edit bay and realized I have a beautiful view out the window. Who knew? It’s quite gray out there right now. I can see the Cheesecake Factory and Tower and all the way to Encino and north all the way to beyond Chatsworth. That’s what I’m talkin’ about – a room with a view.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I am now mesmerized by my room with a view of things outside my window.

I tell you I am mesmerized by my room with a view of things outside my window. I have very exciting news to tell you – my copy of Patty Duke sings Valley of the Dolls is here and I hope to have it in hand by the time you’re reading these here notes (I do). Hopefully, my turntable will work long enough for me to transfer it to CD (my turntable is being very ornery – sometimes it’s fine, and sometimes it just slows down and dies towards the end of an album).

It’s starting to feel Christmasy, isn’t it? I haven’t gotten my Christmas cards done yet because I’ve been so busy, but I’ll take the photo that I’m using in on Saturday and they turn them around very quickly, so I should be able to get them all out by the end of next week.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must work all the livelong day, and then I must come home and play all the livelong night. Additionally, I must enjoy my newfound room with a view. Today’s topic of discussion: Let’s start our Christmas wish discussion – today tell us what you’re hoping to get for Christmas – what you really want for a gift. Your dream gift, your practical gift, whatever you really would like Santa to bring you. Let’s have loads of lovely posts, shall we, as we begin our countdown to Christmas.
