"THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN"

Photo of Bruce Kimmelbk's notes II

Well, dear readers, I am back in viewing mode now that I’m doing the final hour show of the series. But, I’m also helping finish up show one because, really, I’m totally familiar with the material and usually can find things faster. But at least I’m employed through the New Year and for that I’m grateful. I will have to work both Christmas Eve day and New Year’s Eve day, but I think they’ll both be fairly short days, with us getting off at four. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

I must say that it’s very easy to be hooked on Alias, even when it is at its most annoying, as in most of episodes one through four episodes of season two. And whoever is casting the show always manages to get in some interesting guest stars. I still find I’m able to predict where things are going, but it’s fun seeing how they get there.

What am I, TV Guide all of a sudden? Last night I ate the last of my birthday cake, which was quite yummiliscious, and my pal Nick Redman is back in town and he’ll be taking me out for a birthday meal very soon. Aren’t I a fountain of information today? Aren’t I just the most factual fountain of information on all the Internet? I am a veritable flowing fountain of information, am I not? Yes, Virginia, I am a fountain, to coin a phrase. Actually, if I had three coins to coin a phrase I could have three coins in the fountain of information that I am. Boy, that took a long time to get to the punch line, didn’t it?

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below to find out an important fact: Which one will the fountain bless?

Make it mine, make it mine, make it mine. So, what else can this fountain of information tell you? Nothing, that’s what, because I’ll need three more coins to continue. Perhaps an Indian-head nickel can be one of them? Perhaps an Armenian dime can be one of them. Perhaps a Swiss franc can be one of them. Perhaps a swiss cheese can be one of them. What the hell am I talking about?

I had to work last night and I am tired as can be, but I get the whole glorious weekend to recuperate, don’t I? Yes, I do. We’re not going to have an Unseemly Live Chat this weekend, but we might have one on Monday or maybe during the week. My goodness I am a fountain of information today. I feel that no other site on the Internet has such a fountain of information as the fountain of information known as me. Oh, sure, they may have more coins, but really, do you need more than three coins in the fountain? Three coins were good enough to win an Academy Award, hence three coins are good enough for me.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must work all the livelong day, and then I must come home and begin the relaxation process for the glorious weekend. Today’s topic of discussion: What is currently in your CD and DVD/video players? I’ll start – CD, Unsung Irving Berlin – someone was talking about it here on the site, and since I hadn’t heard it since we recorded it I gave it a listen. It’s pretty good. DVD, Alias, for the next couple of weeks. Second topic – what are your favorite Academy Award-winning songs? Let's have three coins and a fountain of lovely posts, shall we?
