Well, dear readers, I don’t know that I have any more words left to write. So, I thought perhaps I’d write numbers. 1397593589359839247873929-9089798080809-908297904829799989270270720704707 and maybe some symbols thrown in for good measure (6’3”): @*(%&#%(#)*)))@*)$*){}+_>?>/.,/. There, I’ve said it and I’m glad. Now, if we have any code experts out there, you’ll be able to figure out what those numbers and symbols mean – I’ll give you a clew – it has to do with the story of The Randy Vicar and the Ball Peen Hammer. I gotta tell you. I hate to regurgitate my yesterday for you, but what the HELL else am I going to write about? So – yesterday I woke up early and smoothed out what I’d written the day before, making a couple of additions along the way. Then I had to be on my way to West LA, where I had an early lunch at Louise’s Trattoria. I had their yummilicious Louise’s salad – just lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and mozzarella cheese in a light vinaigrette dressing. We went over everyone’s notes on the current draft, decided which changes would be implemented, and that was that. It took longer than I wanted it to, about two hours and fifteen minutes. I then had to deliver CDs for a David Shire signing this weekend, then I stopped and picked up 0 packages and no mail, then I came home and finally began my writing for the day. I did about eleven pages in two and a half hours, ended a chapter and began a new chapter, which puts me into the 1980s, a decade filled with the good, the bad, and the ugly, with an emphasis on the latter. Although, as difficult as some of those years were, looking back from today, some extraordinary things came from those years, so it will be fun to revisit them. I then went and got a sandwich and fries, after which I returned and wrote another batch of pages for a total of eighteen. I also had to make two little additions to earlier things. I’m keeping a little list of other things I may go back in and add at some point. After that, I sat on my couch like so much fish, but did not have the patience for a motion picture.

Instead, I wrote the blurb for our new release, I proofed our new master and asked for a couple of little fixes, finessed my liner notes a little, and then sent audio samples to our web designer so he can prep our announcement for early Friday morning. I’ll probably do our advance announcement at some point tomorrow. It’s a title I’m really happy to be releasing – one of my favorite scores, and in a new, improved version in which you get the score in film order (with one new, short additional never before released track), followed by the original LP presentation, followed by some bonus material. Here’s hoping it does well.

After all that, I took a shower, answered some e-mails, had a telephonic call, and then tried to relax.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below whilst I $*){}+_>?>/.,/, which, of course, is code for none of your beeswax.

Today I have no other things to work on save for the book. It’s the day I’ve been looking forward to – just a couple of errands and whatnot, otherwise a pure writing day. I’m actually going to try to do the bulk of the writing by three o’clock, so I can have the rest of the day to relax and go over some notes for upcoming things I have to write about in the book. Otherwise, I hope to pick up a couple of packages and I’ll eat something light. I have been very remiss in the jogging department, but I just haven’t had the energy whilst writing this book. So, I’ve been eating too much and have probably put on seven to ten pounds, which I will absolutely take off in short order, once I finish the book.

Tomorrow, I’m hoping my new table will be delivered. Other than that, it’s a writing day. Saturday I may mosey on over to the Shire signing briefly, and then I’m hoping to join edisaurus at a concert, if I’m not too bushed.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, write, do errands and whatnot, eat, and write. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your all-time favorite Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas performances – two of my favorite actors. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and don’t forget, $*){}+_>?>/.,/, which, when decoded means “What is it, fish?”
