I am now toddling off to the bedroom environment.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

And if you remember nothing else, remember: MALACOSTRACAN!

Hey Bess Myerson just came out wearing Yvonne DeCarlo's costume from SALOME WHERE SHE DANCED.

Whew....and they say television is better now.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Thank you DR RON and DR BEN for answering my questions about “segue” and “persnickety” . Now I know that “segue” is the third person conjugation of seguire and that it’s difficult for me to use the word “persnickety” in a sentence.

Good morning, DRHisaka!  Did you get all the "segue" definitions posted yesterday?

I just woke up.  I dreamed I was rehearsing with Eartha Kitt, who was doing "Impossible" from Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA.  She kept turning to this bag person and telling him to get away from her.  I think we may have been rehearsing in an abandoned subway tunnel, or a shopping mall, it's starting to fade now.

And I see from your post that you did.   When I came to the site, I saw you were online and had to ask.

Still reeling over Eartha (I think it's from playing JEEPERS CREEPERS too much!), I have no idea what will be on the weekend's agenda.  Perhaps a film with goddaughter Charlotte, now that her TEMPEST is past.  Here's what's been playing this week:

DVD:  Kissing Jessica Stein
         On Guard
         The Seven Little Foys

CD:  Bryn Terfel Sings Favorites
       Rodrigo concerti
       The New Moon

A few minutes ago, I saw Robert De Niro on a tv spot commercial for American Express Card. I disappointed. Is it happened in the US, too?  :-[

I meant to tell you all that DRJay sends his regards along with a promise to return soon to HHW.  He sends his regards to all.  He says there are three job possiblities cooking right now, one of the three is boiling along nicely, and that he'd be happy to accept any offer.

Time to prepare for B&N!

And Mitsubishi TV set is so nice and I’ve never seen that design which is very sharp and beautiful. I think it’s only for overseas.

I will listen to The Mad Show today. I will also listen to Donald's new radio show. As much as I like 3-day weekends, they do throw my schedule off. I forget about the show (and all my other BBC shows) and then must rush to listen before it's replaced.

I'm seeing a cabaret show tomorrow. It's kind of a 6 degrees of separation thing.

I work via phone and e-mail with someone from the Ford Foundation. We've had contact for years although we have never met. A couple of weeks ago I got a flyer in the mail for a show at Dont Tell Mama (a cabaret space in NYC) with Brian Tom O'Connor and Debra Vogel (called How to Be Perfect). The name Debra Vogel is uncommon enough that I had to ask so I e-mailed her and it turns out that my Ford Foundation colleague is a cabaret performer. They got my name from some theatre mailing list, not knowing I was on the list. So I'm seeing the show on Saturday and will stay after the show to meet and talk to her. Small World!

I may go to a small Oscar gathering on Sunday but don't know for sure yet.

Currently I'm listening to the Lunchtime Concert on BBC Radio 3 and since it's 8:20am I must get back to work.

Sweet potato is not a sweet patootie.  You can only put butter on one of those items.

A couple of tidbits from Playbill On-Line

It seems Legends, the (in)famous James Kirkwood piece, is coming back to Broadway with diva deluxe Joan Collins

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/91397.html

and Hugh Jackman will be playing Las Vegas, though he's not doing The Boy From Oz. He will be doing an actual concert, directed by George C. Wolfe

Good Morning!

Yeah!  The sun came back out again this morning.  It's still cold, but sunny.   Hmm... If it warms up enough, I may go for another run this afternoon.  I definitely need some out-of-the-apartment time today after all my going through boxes-o-stuff yesterday.  But I'm glad I got that stuff done yesterday - and I hope to get a little more of that "stuff" done today.

We shall see...

I've never been a big fan of BUGSY MALONE, but I'd certainly be willing to give it another chance. Haven't seen it since it first came out.

Yes, I love GAMBIT, and I hope Universal is planning a DVD release at some future date. This is a film that is long overdue for rediscovery.

Speaking of TORCH SONG, it's interesting that character actress Marjorie Rambeau (who plays Joan's mother in the film) got an Oscar nomination for this movie.

Yes, the Oscars are Sunday night. I was just thinking about setting up the laptop so I could watch and type at the same time.

I hope the show is in high definition again this year.

Last night's "Will and Grace" -- I find that Ed Byrnes as a new beau for Grace is even LESS interesting than Debra Messing's "Grace," which I thought would be nearly impossible.

Nice bits with Will, Karen and Pastry Chef.

And Jack (Sean Hayes) can milk more comedy out of a partially opened door than anybody on the face of the earth.

I watched part of ABC's Peter Jennings special on UFOs last night (I recorded it, too, but was flipping around on commercial breaks during CSI), and there was a scene in it showing a sketch of the "beings" folks described as being among the wreckage of the Roswell crash.

They were described as short with puggish features.  When I saw the photo, the first thing that flashed into my head was "Flip Mark" at age 9 or 10.
