Hard to imagine his childhood without so many things we did take for granted - especially in terms of communication and entertainment. He grew up in a rural area. The village is still even 5 hours away from here by car. His little sister married my mother's older brother.

I am thus very genetically close to my cousin. (Gary).

The al fresco was nice - I think we got some good buzz on top of the already good buzz we had going. Our actor ended up making it there after his ad agency meeting (but Jennifer, the other understudy, did get to perform with the number, since we are doing it out of context and isn't complicated blocking). It was kind of chilly of course, but we were inside there at Fringe Central.

The band run-through went well -- I stood in for the "Founder" tonight running through the songs, as his voice was threatening to go out...and then they just ran some of the blocking and choreography and we were done at around 10.

So, we'll see how it all goes tomorrow!

Then, I will be learning lots and lots of lines and brushing up a lot of songs as quickly as possible.

Luckily, he was saying he was feeling better at the end of rehearsal...but it's a matter of taking care of it. We have the show tomorrow night, and then a noon show on Sunday. Add that on top of the fact that they are still on LA time (i.e. a show at 9am - and people were complaining about singing at the al fresco at 1pm NY time today) and the fact that "Bukowsical!" is a serious workout for any singer...we'll see.

People just aren't taking care of their voices...luckily they were all just marking through this evening, but still...

That's the thing - I really love the show (it's perfect for the Fringe), and the whole creative team...it's just a shame that a few rotten apples can spoil the bunch; yet of course, none of that is seen by anyone other than us.

And I hope it doesn't read to the audience.

Speaking of divas, I guess Big Daddy Warbucks finally made it home, and told her no. She was bad news (bad karma) -- sorry she played the game on you, bk -- but I have a feeling the Joyce you end up will be much better for you and the show. The Brain is a no divas allowed zone!

They are a fun group -- one of my friends introduced them to me about a year and a half ago, after they had a concert special on HBO. Funny, strange New Zealanders!

Is there any way to transfer (no doubt there is a more technical computer term for that) a photo from The Brain website or bk's myspace (he's got The Brain photos streaming across there) -- or no?

Very possibly - but I just don't know how to get it to fit the size qualifications for an "avatar"...
