Yes, the Gower Champion book did mention that Marge mounted the national company. He was ill and then busy with CARNIVAL!

Nice to see DR Ben here this afternoon.  Pampering is always a nice way to start a vacation.

Speaking of time off, it became clear to me that I have worked my last 5-day week until the week of January 23!  Next Monday and Tuesday, I'm off for the same procedure DR elmore had last week  :P and then the holiday days off begin  :D.  Then, I'm on vacation Jan. 14-24  :D, and will be going to NYC with DH Richard   ;D in the middle of that.

Still catching up on stuff. I had put in the second disc of MURDER SHE WROTE, so I just left it in and watched two episodes instead of KINSEY. I'll get to it tonight.

Among the guest stars on the first one (a wonderful murder in prison episode) were Yvonne DeCarlo, Adrienne Barbeau, Margaret Avery, Barbara Baxley, Susan Oliver, Vera Miles. In those early years, Angela loaded the shows with FAMOUS actors. In the later years, she used new talent (they were probably less expensive; by then, her production company was mouting the show).

The second one had Denny Miller, John Astin, Parker Stevenson, Chris Stone, Evelyn Keyes.

I can already tell I'm going to be stiff and sore tomorrow after all that bending cleaning off my roof earlier this afternoon.

Oh, to be 30 again!

I think the network also asked her to try to get the show to skew younger, for the demographics.  The entire "Jessica moves to NYC to teach" arc was part of this, as I recall.

In the process, she gave a number of young people a chance to perform on national television.  For example, glancing at a rerun der B was watching, some time ago, I was pleasantly surprised to spot Robert Beltran, later one of the leads on Star Trek: Voyager.

TOTD: I'm listening to "THE BEST OF THE FOuR LADS".
I had a phone call yesterday from someone after a copy of "Somebody Loves Me".
We've been too busy to watch DVDs or TV etc.

I did buy a DVD yesterday.  "Shaun Of The Dead". I shall blame HHW if it is not to my liking!!

DR Tomovoz, I loved SHAUN OF THE DEAD.  It's quite funny.

Speaking of Toms, anybody heard anything from the E&T TCB?

Denny Miller, of course, is the close personal friend of Pogue.

Back from various errands - banking, picking up mail (no packages), and buying some stuff for she of the Evil Eye.  I sent out one batch of Christmas cards, but have many to go.

Definitely not feeling as queasy as yesterday, so that's good.  Still, not up to snuff yet, so haven't eaten anything.  It's been over two days now, save for the five Saltines.

Well, I've got that awful kitchen floor mopping to take care of, and I MUST do it today since I'm sure to be sore tomorrow.

I've also got tomorrow booked for doing a home theater calibration, so that will take some time, too.

Hey, guys! Do NOT let me monopolize the site! Feel free to post too!
You're making me selfconscious!

Hi, Ben! Hope you're having a good time in that Lounge!
Ireland is eagerly waiting for you! Wish I could send Maureen O'Hara to great you!

I.R.E.L.A.N.D.

Come all ye lads and lassies and sit you down with me,
And I will tell the truth about a land that`s dear to me,
You`ve read it in the papers and you`ve seen it on TV,
But I will spell it out for you, what Ireland means to me.

   (Chorus)
I is for internment of the innocent and free
R is for resistance to the laws of tryany
E is for the English who have torn our land apart
L is for the love of freedom in every Irish heart
A is for the answer we`re all searching for
N is for one nation and an end to this long war
D is for the dream of millions longing to be free.
That`s how I spell Ireland, that`s what Ireland means to me.

This land was once respected for its saints and scholars too
But now the bomb and bullet that`s all that makes the news
I know that it`s confusing and it`s hard to understand,
But I will spell it out for you by spelling Ireland

3:48 and there's no one in the jernt but me.

I think I might be ready for some foodstuffs.  But what?  I'm nervous.  Had five more Saltines today and I'm feeling like I could deal with something.  Not pizza, of course, or any fatty meats or any pasta with cream sauce.  Several of you have suggested white rice, but that isn't appealing to me and I'd have to put butter on it.  Others have suggested scrambled eggs and toast, which I COULD probably deal with, although it doesn't sound that good to me.  The one thing we know for sure - no tacos, no burritos, not for quite a while.

So, is it scrambled eggs?  Or is poached on toast better?  Might be more to my liking certainly.  But what of accoutrements?  No potatoes, I suppose, and no cottage cheese.  Are tomatos okay?  And what of salad with ranch dressing?  Is that okay?  Who am I talking to?

I'd probably go with scrambled eggs and toast. Or else some chicken soup.

Tomatoes are acidic and might not sit well.

I personally prefer scrambled eggs to poached.  But I would try one thing at a time.  First a little bit of eggs, then if that stays down, some toast.  Wait a while and if you're doing okay, try a salad with a little dressing.  Just don't try everything all at once.  But I'm just guessing. :-\

Woody, I ate at Skyline yesterday, but I prefer Gold Star which also has an outlet in Georgetown and I ate there today!

JRand, yes, I have lovely windows in the library from which seasons can be witnessed

William,  Sorry, my mother told me the same thing about money.  And I'm especially not going to post such info over the internet.

Well, if it wasn't fairly certain that The West Wing would be over this season, this fairly well seals it.  John Spencer (Leo) died this morning of a heart attack.
