I connected my up-converting dvd player to Mum's 52' hdtv and plugged in MAMMA MIA!  All I can say is "WOW!"

I'm sure that the wonderful poster - over 40,000 posts - will have some other suggestions for me to dazzle my eyes. . .

Awww...

I just heard about this:

Mill Mountain Theater Closing

:-\

If I'm remembering correctly, this is where DR Ben's ever-lovin Ant was in Beauty and The Beast.

Just watched an episode of Mannix - fun.  James Olson, the ubiquitous Susan Oliver, Paul Winfield, and even Timothy Carey.

I had a wonderful surprise from my partner Peter when I got home. (He took his family to Washington...they drove down and back in one day!)

From our favorite purveyor of handmade chocolates:

In a little wooden box, there was:

Inauguration Chocolates
Your votes were cast and tallied, and like in the National Presidential Campaign, Burdick's Obama Chocolate Assortment was the clear winner in our Candidate Chocolate Campaign. The results? 76.6% Obama! We have decided to make the Obama Assortment available for celebratory purchases and it now comes packed in our classic wood boxes, tied with red, white and blue ribbon, then stamped with a gold wax seal to honor the Inaugural Celebration. Order your Inauguration Chocolates - celebrate "The Road Trip to Change"!

Send the excitement of "A Road to Change" by sending Our Inauguration Selection This small wood box tied with red, white & blue ribbon and sealed with a gold commerative seal holds 16 pieces of the Obama assortment of bonbons, celebrating his heritage: Hawaiian Pineapple, Kenyan Coffee, Kansas Crunch and Tennessee Sour Mash. Also included is one chocolate mouse with a red, white or blue silk tail.

Awwwwwww....

DR edisaurus - The drove up and back in the same day?!?!??!  WOW!  -I still remember driving down to Hot-lanta from Richmond a couple of times when I was in college, and I don't think I could have done that round trip in a day.

Oh, a good drain, indeed. I loved it! I hope the editing wins an Oscar!

And the card in the chocolates had the famous quote from Vanzetti: "We see with the eyes of our souls how the sky is diffused with the rays of the new millenium."

(Weep...)

-Although, I did do the drive from Richmond, VA, to Nappannee, IN, in one fell swoop.  -Just a one-way trip, but a looooong one-way trip.  Oh, and I did drive from Ft. Myers, FL, to Richmond, VA, in one drive. Oh, and Richmond, VA, to Evansville, IN... Hmm... Time to check the mileage.  ;)

To their credit, the girls didn't mind walking 4 miles in the cold for this. The older of the two is the one whose Bat Mitzvah we went to a year ago and she kept me posted on things via hte Facebook app she downloaded to her iphone.

I knew we should've had kids...

I drove from Atlanta to Maryland, then the next day to NY, picked up my little French boy and drove to Canada. We drove to Montreal, Quebec City, around the coast of Nova Scotia, back down through Maine to D.C and back to Atlanta in a week...(might have been 9 days) 5,000 miles. I had bought tires before I left and by the tire I came back it was time to rotate them again!

That last drive, from D.C. to Atlanta at night was a toughie!

Has anyone here jumped on the "Jeb Bush for President in 2012" bandwagon yet?

I suspect a Republican candidate for 2012 would be a sacrificial lamb. Obama already has a steady start and there is little reason to suspect his re-election in 2102 will be in jeopardy. The Republican party will be concentrating its efforts on regaining congressional seats.

Isn't he a co-nominee with Loveleen Tandan?
