Adam and I went to the vet and saw Callie's x-rays.  Not sure how she got back to this point so quickly, but she did.  So she's there at least over night. Hopefully she'll do what she needs to do to come home.  Not quite as bad as before, but this is WAY to soon and the surgery possibility is being discussed as a down the road possibility.

Reflections on NCIS:

As I previously commented, I enjoy the show more for the charater interactions than for the mystery plotting. Seeing them each week is such fun. That said: I wonder if sitting down and watching episode after episode in a box set might not tarnish the fun.

As much as I dearly love a good Oysters Rockefeller, I'd hate to have them served each and every evening.

(Note to bk: see, a food posting!)

Anyone here have any thoughts/comments/reactions/concerns about the SUPERBUG?

I doubt he will ever become a member of the Justice League.

I also got my car back and the yard guy was there mowing when I left.  That should take care of the leaves that have fallen so far.  The day is getting better.  Now I'm waiting for my 4:00 PM appointment to arrive. Then it will be the weekend and I can regroup.

I also got my car back..

And fortunately, tires, unlike pregnant girlfriends, can be unscrewed.

I am very worried about Callie.

Is it just poop-pushing problems, are is it more complicated?

Am feeling a bit head-coldish right now.  It started at lunch when I had a compulsion to sneeze with my mouth full of chicken Caesar salad.

Now I've got a raw throat and sniffles and I feel warm and a bit achy.

Drat!

I'm more specifically seeking input on this Superbug .

:D

I think it would naive of anyone not to take more precautions this fall and winter.  Washing your  hands frequently, sterilizing all work spaces, not sharing personal items with others; and, without a doubt (Pay attention Jennifer) getting a flu shot this year.

Granted the Superbug is not a form of the flu, but my doctor said that are a number of things in the flu vaccine that can help stave off the Superbug

I am very worried about Callie.

i am too.

are you looking into that second opinion.  i suggest researching a different diet as well, maybe all canned food-i don't remember which ones are best.
keith has found chat rooms helpful.  maybe, even though she doesn't have it, info on megacolon might offer helpful suggestions.

Oh yes, there is a copy on my bookshelves!

I've been in tears a few times about Callie, but other than that I've really kept my sense of humor today.

I have already said a prayer for Callie (and for you), and I will light candle as well.  Angel and Nicky send healing vibes, too.

Jane's suspicions confirmed:

ANNENBERG SCHOOL - USC

Quote
When photos do contain people related to the task at hand, or the content users are exploring, they do get fixations. However, gender makes a distinct difference on what parts of the photo are stared at the longest. Take a look at the hotspot below.

Although both men and women look at the image of George Brett when directed to find out information about his sport and position, men tend to focus on private anatomy as well as the face. For the women, the face is the only place they viewed.

Coyne adds that this difference doesn’t just occur with images of people. Men tend to fixate more on areas of private anatomy on animals as well, as evidenced when users were directed to browse the American Kennel Club site.

Just got an interesting e-mail from the head of the LA Festival of New Musicals, saying she'd placed the Brain at a theater in Anaheim, and that I'd be contacted about the details.  I don't know what "placed" means exactly, whether this theater does its own production with its own creative team or just pays for the show and we come and do it (as I understand it, each theater must pay for their production) - if it's the former, I'll have to meet with them and be comfortable that they'd do the show proud, if it's the latter, I have to look at the theater.  Still, grand to be offered.

Great news, BK!  George, Mike, and I could almost walk to LA.

Thanks, DR dB for the article link.  Very interesting.  Your excerpt, posted above, also really made me laugh.  I will check out the full article.

I remember hearing a report [perhaps on NPR?] about a similar study they did with autistic individuals.  They were shown a movie clip, and they focused almost equally on a doorknob, say, as they did on the human face.  Interesting.

This is HHW where "Food For Thought" represents a cornucopić of intellectual flights.

der Brucer

And where else of the daily Internet can you find the horn of plenty spelled in the classic fashion?

Except that cornucopia is not spelled with an "e" on the end.
