I don't know from Thai food either, even though the building which houses Mulligan's (formerly Sam Morgan's) was at one point in time a Thai restaurant called THAI ONE ON.

Good Evening!

So... I went to the 4:40pm showing of "The Boy with the Striped Pajamas" at the Westhampton - one of Richmond's remaining classic theatres.  All I really knew about the movie was that it was about the Holocaust, well...  I wasn't really prepared for what it was really about.  I'm still a bit numb, and the movie will most definitely be sticking with me for a while...

"Happy-Go-Lucky", the new Mike Leigh film, was also playing at the Westhampton.  I almost went to see that right after "The Boy with the Striped Pajamas" as a sort of cinematic pick-me-up.  However, I wasn't in the mood to sit for another two hours, so...

*The Westhampton is basically Richmond's "art house" - indie films, film festival favorites, foreign films, etc.  It used to be one theatre, but they closed off the balcony years ago and made that the second theatre in the complex.  Alas, sometimes when there are a glut of good movies out there, they are not able to run some films for more than one week at a time in order to fit them all in.

...And the D.C. area is home to both "Thai-Phoon" and "Thai-Tanic".  ;)

DR Danise, I would'nt worry too much about those puppies...they will be swooped up quickly, they always are at the dog shelters here.

I agree MBarnum, from what I understand, it's usually the older animals that have a hard time finding a home.

I took two long naps today. I don't know why. I isn't like I exerted myself at all the last few days. I am just getting more and more lazy.

DR SINGDAW - the diet cola cake was a great success.  I used 12 ounces of regular Diet Pepsi.  I think a diet soda with a bit more flavor would have enhanced it, but it was fine.

Added NOTHING else, no oil, no eggs, no water.....just the soda....the equivalent of one can.

Watched one mildly OK Bollywood film today...MUJRIM (Criminal) 1958.  Too many plot holes and coincidences...I can suspend disbelief only so far.

No to eat dinner and find something else Hindi to watch.

*Oh, and that was half a cup of Chocolate Chai, and half a cup of the Cranberry from Bev's Ice Cream.

-Which was just what I needed after seeing "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas".

DR Danise, sounds like you may have found a dog you really like.  He would be very lucky to get to live with you.

I'm just not sure about Sheena, Queen of the House.

Sometimes I look at her and I think she really needs company when I'm work and then I think that maybe she is better off being only dog.

I'm sure Sheena will tell you when she would like some additional company.  :)

DR Jose, I figured out how to get the sound driver to work!  I knew I had it when I shut the MS Window down and heard the closing music.  Yay!!! :)

Congrats!

Just finished (a little while ago) a lovely going-through-music session with Shauna Hicks and Georga Osborne, both of whom send a very hearty hello to BK.

Awww... I <heart> Shauna Hicks.  :)

This is similar to the saw my dad gave me.  I haven't had a good look at it yet, but I think this is the model or close to it

Now  THAT looks good~!!!!

And it WAS!  :)

*Although, I will say that "cold" muted some of the Chai seasoning in the Chocolate Chai.  However, that made me take my time to savor it.

**And the family that was in front of me in line, well... At least the mother acknowledged that they were taking their time and being sort of a collective pain to the poor clerk, and she let met order ahead of them since they were still making their decisions.  I think the daughter must have asked for samples of at least five different flavors... Twice!  :-\
