I got a Johnny Mandel songbook - very interesting, as there are two songs with lyrics by the Bergmans that I'd never heard of.  I recognized both tunes immediately - the first is the love theme (if there's a love theme) from Point Blank, and the second, more interstingly, is Mandel's beautiful theme from his tossed out score to Author Author.  Unfortunately, both lyrics are not so good, which happens a lot with the Bergmans when setting some of my favorite previously unset tunes.  Their lyric to Soldier In The Rain, one of Henry Mancini's most beautiful tunes is really not good, and their recent lyric to Deborah's Theme from Once Upon A Time In America, at least as interpreted by Miss Celine Dion, almost ruined the tune for me.

Isn't that the stuff the Ozies spead on bread?

Spent most of the day cleaning the gutters and raking up leaves in the backyard of the House of Mom.  I was planning on heading to a friend's house for dinner and to shoot some pool, but I'm now too achy, so I think I'll stay home and vegetate.

A padded seat may help.

Well, I've been at work and now it's time for me to leave.  I'm going to do a little shopping then go home for the evening.

Just had to share. ;)

Mom was supposed to give me a haircut.  Unfortunately, all of her bowls were in the dishwasher.

I probably should have listed THE DAILY SHOW, THE COLBERT REPORT, and SOUTH PARK on Comedy Central because I always enjoy them when I tune it, but I just haven't developed the habit of watching every time they're broadcast, so I guess I can't count them as favorites.

TOD:   Nothing that hasn't already been mentioned.

Six Feet Under - any episode/scene with Frances Conroy
South Park - I suppose, the episode with WING
Queer as Folk - not great TV, but entertaining

[the first and last viewed on DVD, as I don't get any premium cable channels]

I would like to know if anyone has attended (Tomovoz) or heard (everyone else) of this new traveling show that started in Oz called WALKING WITH DINASOURS (not to be confused with our Amy).  It begins its U.S. tour in Seattle in July; not in theaters, but rather, arenas.  It supposedly has life-sized dinasours that wander around, eat, and fight.  Tickets seem pricey for an arena show.  The top price is $75.00.

Zach has an unexpected brother for the week.  My boss is traveling, and her dog sitting plans fell through, so we are hosting 7-mo old chocolate lab Cody.

A neighborhood child just informed me that there is [or was] a Nickelodeon children's program called "Zach & Cody."  I'm just so hip, I can't even stand it.    :-\
The show is on the Disney Channel - it is titled The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, about identical twins living in a San Francisco hotel where their single mom works.

She's a singer.  I didn't mean for that to sound like a prompt for TCB.  Sheesh.

Oh.  Der B already covered this.  Never mind.

DR François - are the French elections usually on Sundays?  Do they find that this increases overall turnout?
