Annabelle is in fine fettle, and I hope it lasts for a while.   She and Stella have been romping, jumping, and chasing each other ever since they gobbled down their breakfasts.  This is a Big, Big Relief!

Today, music work.

But also a trip to Costco — for two (2) 44-lb. boxes of cat litter.

Might reward myself with the $1.50 hot dog and soda while I’m there.

My question for ASK BK DAY:

In most Paramount Pictures back in the day, there was a credit that read:  Process Photography by Farciot Eouart.

Did this mean that he went out and photographed the background that was used in the scene or did he photograph the action that took place in front of the screen?

He did the background plates.  The actual director did what was in front of the plates.

The extras on Temple Drake are quite interesting, especially on on the original storyboards, which look like German expressionism. They don't use the ugly word "proto-noir," but noir couldn't have happened without some of the lighting effects used. Beautiful in its ugliness, if that makes sense.
