Vixmom, how scary about the choking and the need for Heimlich. And how wonderful that Vixdad could just jump in and do it.
Yes, chop those salads a little more. That one sounded good, by the way, even if you eschew (Gesundheit) tomatoes.
That makes four or five people I've known who refuse to eat tomatoes. I believe this is evidence that certain people are mutations and should be watched carefully.

Speaking of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes in particular, those have become a real favorite of mine. I love 'em all, but when I'm making my own salads and want some tomato in them, I've grown to prefer carefully slicing a few cherry tomatoes in half to slicing up a regular one -- unless I intend to use up the whole tomato, in which case I have to figure out the best way to preserve it (because tomatoes lose something in the fridge).
Anyhoo, my point is that for my taste, the cherry tomatoes provide the flavor and juiciness that a grape tomato doesn't. Grape tomatoes are ubiquitous these days, which probably means they're cheaper, and of course they're easy to handle, so everyone uses them as a convenient shortcut. But a cleanly halved cherry tomato (halved, because it's silly to pop the whole thing into your mouth and have to explode it in there to avoid a mess) is the best.
Good surgery vibes for DR Jeanne!
BK, thanks for the lovely compliment!

And what a great song!
I shall have to get out that Lost in Boston album.

I love that first Lost in Boston, and I like much of Lost In Boston 2. I wish I could now rewrite several of the charts for LIB 2. I think I was burned out by the time I finished the charts for both 1 & 2. What's surprising is that some charts like "Take It In Your Stride," which is one of my favorites, was written very late, and I thought, I don't know what to do with this; it's going to sound like crap, while one that seemed easy, like the FANTASTICKS song "I Have Acted Like A Fool," is not nearly as good as it should be!
CASTING VIBES FOR DR GEORGE!

Jane, Laura is correct... I lost about half my salvitary glands to the radiation.
At the beginning of the treatment were giving me a daily shot in the stomach to counteract the effect but I could not tolerate the drug in conjunction with the radiation and simultaneous chemo and they had to stop.
Small price to pay to stay above ground but I fear I annoy people with my very slow eating and constant drinking during a meal

Y'all should learn the Heimlich maneuver it's very useful. Unfortunately it's about the 5th or 6th time I've needed it ...fortunately every time there was someone there who could do it
I just don't like raw tomatoes ... I don't know why.
They look so lovely on sandwiches and burgers and salads and I've tried them many times but they just taste awful raw
But broiled, or in soup or casseroles...to tomato sauce, tomatoe juice, tomato salad dressing....love them
Vibes for DR JEANNE!
Casting vibes for DR GEORGE.
More about the casting...there are several people now in final tech week for a show who have expressed interest in auditioning, but couldn't come to the callbacks last night. Since the show doesn't go up until next year, the director is allowing them a later callback audition, which means the final casting won't be announced for a while.
I've sent Annabelle's vet an email about her health concerns. I don't think she's well.

DR George, how did you do with "Mama Mia?"

Wednesday afternoon greetings! We are back from an early and long morning at our local hospital for my routine bi-annual cardiac stress test. For the first time I did not walk the treadmill, but had the chemically-induced test. It wasn’t bad and they didn’t keep me, so I guess that’s good news. We went to Cracker Barrel for brunch and are home, ready for naps. That is good news.

DR Ginny, what are the treadmill tests like? I've never had one. I always figured they "wear you out" to get you huffing and puffing -- on purpose, of course -- but how far do they really go with that?
Last night was Family Night wherein family members of the cast can come and take photographs if they like and wander in and out and see a preview of the show.
This morning someone who was there last night who is definitely NOT a member of the family of ANYONE in the cast posted on Facebook how much he loved the show....it was the TECH director from Send Me No Flowers.....
He said his favorite quote was from donkey.....about how friends always forgive friends....
If he's talking about himself, he's being a jerk.....if he's talking about us, he's being premature....

Nice weather today....and tonight is the first night I will be driving in the dark with my Ultra Brite headlights.....I am sure I will be able to tell a difference....or at least I am hoping so.

My doctor was very happy, and for the first time in 30 years my weight is under 200 lbs. I have a lot of tests, X-rays, etc. in the bewxt two weeks for this surgery in Sept.

Congrats, Larry! I probably haven't weighed less than 200 lbs. since middle school...which has been about 40 years! ::)

I'm just under 200, but I've lost 40 lbs or so in the past year, and I guess i'll keep going.
After wading through what must be a list of six or seven HUNDRED Scenie Award winners, at the very end I found that FINALLY A Carol Christmas won two - one for Kay Cole's choreography and one for Best Original Songs - ME.

Interestingly, 90% of the categories have multiple winners except Best Original Songs, where I am the lone winner.
Oh, it's not Best Original Songs - he doesn't do "Best" - it's Outstanding Original Songs. I'll take it.

I'm home. I'm wiped out. The surgeon was running very late (2 hours) because of complications during an earlier procedure. He ran into a little surprise with me, too. Since I had local anesthesia I could hear all the conversations. But he sounded satisfied when he was done.
It was no piece of cake, but I had a good surgeon and three good, attentive nurses.

But it's probably about 2 Janes
Which iskind of odd because I truly don't eat very much
Hello, everyone.
Yes, it's DR Jeanne checking in.

I had arranged rides to and from through my insurance. My Medicare Advantage plan gives me 12 free rides round-trip per year to doctor's appointments--a big help. But the office that arranges them closes at 5 pm. The doctor didn't get to me until maybe 4 pm. I found it rather comical that while lying on the operating table, surgery in progress, the nurses and I were coordinating with the insurance company ride department. I couldn't move, of course. They had to run interference--and they did.
It's now 7:37 and I haven't eaten since 9 am. I really am wiped out, too. Thank you for all the vibes; I appreciate it. I will say good night!

Hearing them is one of my worst nightmares.
Starting to watch The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, Terry Gilliam's latest film.
Wow. This movie is as wonderful and exhilarating -- and maddening -- as anything else Terry Gilliam has made. Some will hate it. I absolutely love it. I wish I didn't have to go to bed. I would love to see it all in one shot.
HEALING AND RECOVERY VIBES FOR DR JEANNE!
155%!
Notice!
I did not here anything from the HOA today.
Actually, I am pissed, but I am not shocked. Rebecca has never returned my calls when she said she would.
