Good needle vibes Danise, if you can have such a thing as good needle vibesThat would require breaking out the ol' Victrola, methinks.
I don't think there can be a such thing as good needle vibes.
My Virgin purchase was an import CD of Dave Brubeck's Bossa Nova album
The house is a wreck!
Welcome to my world! (Where is DR Matt when you need him?)
:)
With my back feeling like it does, my kitchen floor (usually my Friday chore) probably won't get touched by a mop today.

Where's the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" when you need him?
I hope that's a comment about the "content" rather than the physical tapes! :)
Thanks very much, Larry, for the link to the Project Runway interviews with the finalists and Tim Gunn. That anecdote about Vincent truly cements an impression I had that he's totally nuts.
...and I found it at the library!
That's the title of my next novel!
That's the title of my next novel!
Not if I write the exposé article first! ;)
Has anyone who has Tivo noticed that it almost isn't worth watching "live" tv any more? I find it much easier to Tivo what I want to see and fast forward through the commercials. It sure saves some time!
I'm starving. Who all is coming to dinner?
Liza Minelli and Georgia Engel!
I'm starving. Who all is coming to dinner?
I had a neat thing happen in the Theatre collection today. My librarian friend Bob made a reference to a library website for historic newspapers. I had no knowledge of this, but now I am in the know. Not all clerks are created equal. :-\
At any rate, an investigation of the Chicago Tribune today gave me the final ruling on the July 1903 plagiarism suit filed by Mrs Alice Riley of Evanston, IL against Fred Hamlin, producer, Julian Mitchell, director, Glen MacDonough, librettist, and Victor Herbert, composer,of BABES IN TOYLAND. I've had law clerks in Chicago looking for 4 years now on the verdict, and I found it at the library!
I'm starving. Who all is coming to dinner?Sorry, I've already got pork and saurkraut in the oven, and I'll be pan-roasting taters to go with them. Otherwise...
Off to see about mopping the kitchen now....missed a spot...
WBBL.
... Alice's husband Shannon is on drums, and, since they live in LA, I hired him to play The Brain. ...Playing the character of the Brain, or playing drums for The Brain? There is a difference.
Oh, sorry, I just ate! Met DH Richard at the American Legion fish fry, where he is still on duty emptying trash cans. He says it keeps him humble. That's not where they got the fish, I hope!!!!!
My luggage just arrived.
Now I have laundry to do.
We're watching the Doctor right now.
...and that I would tape Dr Who (even as I type) for her so we could watch it together after the party.Oh, you will enjoy this one. Very romantic, and very sad.
I missed the teaser.... I turnmed on when they flashed 3000 years later...... what disd I miss? The teaser showed Renette in front of the fireplace, with Versailles in a panic, screams in the background. She tells her lover that he should be with the queen, then stoops in front of the fireplace and calls for the Doctor.
Now, I must finish dinner preparations.
Short clip for the enjoyment of some of us. ;D

Back from a lovelier than lovely repast which, I suppose, is better than a represent or refuture. The food was spectacular - I had a caesar salad, fried chicken (ab fab), and we ordered mac and cheese for the table, and that, too, entered the pantheon of great mac and cheese. I ate way too much food, but it WAS my only meal o' the day, so I guess I'm okay. For dessert I had a peanut butter tart, which was also spectacular, to put it in the vernacular. The restaurant was lovely, but the clientele young and heinously loud. But, the evening was wonderful and it was grandly grand to see Ye Olde FJL and Skip again, and elmore, too. We dished the dirt plenty, that much I'll tell you.
No, but close - it is the second Darrin Stephens, Mr Dick Sargent. He was really the STAR of the movie although Pat Boone sings the title song and does some really funny bits in the show.
Not on video, but I am hoping sooner or later it shows. Of course WB gives us A SUMMER PLACE now that Sandy and Troy can't do a commentary. :P
Or if have the patience to let it download, the very very very funny ............... My Big Deck.

To go along with the peanut butter tart, the menu also featured a fallen chocolate souffle.
Spent the first part of my evening watching the new transfer of THE MALTESE FALCON. COuldn't be more silky clean and sharp. The movie still plays like gangbusters and represents career high spots for a good many people.
Does anyone else here watch JERICHO? I am really enjoying it...even though the lead actor is a bit annoying to me...and the "shaky" camera work on this weeks episode made me want to simply stop watching...it just seemed a bit too "now" and "hip" and was no necessary for the plot.
However it is nice to see a show with plenty of older actors/actresses in major roles and the whole idea of the program is pretty darn interesting...I think.
A peanut butter tart??? What was her name?
Hopefully someone will have a camera at tonight's HHW event....and there will be a camera at the SIDE SHOW.
