I only got about 20 minutes in before best friend John called and wanted to come over to watch something on Blu-ray. We chose the recently released (on Blu-ray) G.I. JANE. I've always enjoyed the film, but I have to say that not much is gained by presenting it in high definition. So much of it is in low lighting with lots of smoke, mist, fog, and darkness, so that three dimensionality that one longs to see with HD was only present for fleeting moments.
I did choose the uncompressed 5.1 soundtrack which was a lot more open with a greater sense of envelopment than the usual Dolby Digital compressed track.
