Jane, go to you account and then click on "edit friends" - that will bring up your entire friend list and there you will have the option of nuking anyone you like.

Thanks.  I wonder why it doesn't just say "delete" instead of "remove connection"-lol.  BTW that is not the reason I didn't know where it was.

Removing connections, for me, is better than hiding the people.  I have no objection with them contacting me at a future date.

Tomorrow would have been John McGlinn's 57th birthday. I will be working on a recording of music he would have eventually gotten to if he hadn't been such an insane self-destructive person. I hope you will all take a moment to listen to something from one of his recordings.

I will be on a plane tomorrow with my MP3 and will listen to, as always, "All the Things You Are" and "Some Girl Is on Your Mind," two recordings as near perfect as I will ever hear. I wish he had gotten to record all of "Sweet Adeline."

Do people get offended when you remove them as friends?  Does it come with an explanation of why you're doing it?

Thanks George.  I really prefer to remove the person instead of hiding them.  I want to reduce the number of people I'm friends with to those who actually communicate on a more personal level.

Topic of the Day:

In my CD player:  the original Broadway cast recording of Goldilocks, starring Elaine Stritch; and then the original off-Broadway cast recording of Dames at Sea, starring Bernadette Peters.

I'll send you some GOLDILOCKS mp3s of the dance music. The "Lady In Waiting" ballet is glorious.

Oooh, me, too.   ;D

Ditto. Was thinking of that score the other day. For a flop, it has more than its share of great melodies. Thank you, Leroy.

I don't think that they get any kind of notification that it's happening.

Although I had no idea who this guy was until just now, but a former contestant from India's version of SURVIVOR asked me to be his Facebook friend.

Evidently, we share a common interest in (and both belong to the Facebook page of) a certain, obscure 1970s Japanese science fiction show and we are both Facebook friends with a certain obscure Indian film director. Because of the commonality he decided we should be pals. I like that.

I was rather surprised to find how much I enjoy that aspect of FB and I've met interesting people around the world.  It bother's me when someone asks to be my friend and then never communicates.  To clarify, I'm not talking about my personal friends only new FB friend's.

You should comment to the father how much you appreciate how quiet he has been.  Of course that is after you find out the situation ;)

I was thinking of sending an email or mentioning something on my wall first.

I have been removed once and found a few times the people completely left FB (though a couple of them reappeared on my list).  I also had three people change their names which totally confused me. ;D

I accidentally hid someone once and they were still on my list.  I'll double check after I remove someone.  First I removed all requests to other people to be my friend.  Obviously my requests were missed because these are people I know.  I stick with that explanation. :)

They don't.  The question is will they even notice.

This is my first five-day work week in two months!

It feels weird!

What's weird for me is ONLY having a 5-day work week. ;)

I have taken advantage of a very flexible work schedule, thanks to an accommodating supervisor (who will no longer be my supervisor :P).  And because of that flexible work schedule, I'd usually come in late (usually around 11:00 am) and leave sort of late, so that I would either use vacation quite a bit or more often than not, work on Saturdays...VERY often.  Since there is no telling who will be the new supervisor (yet), I have been getting to work earlier, usually between 9:00 and 9:30 am.  Because of that, I've been leaving earlier, but getting all my time in for the week so that I HAVEN'T have to work Saturdays!  That's weird to me!

:D

All 22 cartons are now sealed and ready to be shipped to Ohio. If only one of my checks for foundation work turns up in the post.

I have to thank DR cillaliz for the Jaarsma Bakery info, I believe. Several Dutch letters arrived in UPS today and I believe I will take them to tomorrow's recording session. I just had one of them: deelish!

Glad you enjoy them.  They are my mom's favorite

There are two full time handymen at my new apartment complex. That will be nice.

And?  Have you met them?

This morning I got to work and called an accountant.  I have an appointment set up for Tuesday.  I can get everything ready for the auditor monday, no problem, but I have realized that I need a better system for the books and it's time to call in a professional.  I am feeling much better about it already

:D  Vibes you are happy with the accountant.

Thanks Jane.

They don't get any notice that you've removed them.  They sometimes find out and can ask to be friends again.  I've had a couple people do that when I've deleted them.  If anyone has been offended, I don't know about it...maybe they aren't talking to me, lol

He's also wrong about Harry's age.....Harry says:  "When he graduates from college, I will be going on 83 - if he's smart..."

If Harry is in his late 40's.....that means the kid will spend about 20 years  matriculating.

Yeah, well haven't we all.
