Take the Window Out Day was successful. The thing about pushing a heavy piece of furniture out a window is that you have gravity on your side. A little push is all it takes--at least from the top. The trick, of course, is to get it down safely. It appears that that objective was achieved. As far as I know it suffered no damage. Boy, am I glad THAT'S over!

However, I started the day with a frozen pipe. Ugh! Fortunately, Matt had just arrived when I discovered it. This happened ten years ago also and after the first incident I had a small access panel built into the exterior wall of the kitchen. That spot is vulnerable. It's right behind the dishwasher and there isn't room in the wall for much insulation. Keeping the cabinet doors open doesn't help, because the heat can't get back there. Matt removed the access panel ("I can't believe there's a part of your house I don't know about!"), then used a portable heater to thaw the pipe. He used some insulation we had left over from another project to maximize protection. As frozen pipe incidents go, this actually went quickly and smoothly.

Jeanne, are you seriously going to leave Matt behind when you move?  The man is incredible.

I'm really thinking about this being my jogging day off, although it's quite pretty out.

I guess I didn't watch many episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies during its last season in 1970-71.  The episodes on TVLAND this morning about women's lib and geishas - a five episode arc - is pretty bad.  Although it's interesting seeing the familiar characters in shows I've never seen.

Regarding SKYSCRAPER, who else remembers Charles Nelson Reilly on one of the Tony Awards shows:

"Spare that building
Don't tear it down, no, no, no...

[stops singing to explain]  The no-no-no's were added out of town."

Charles was once my publicity client.  He was doing THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR at the time.

He was quit a handful.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me.  ;D

I really like the Muppet in the new Weight Watchers campaign.

Is that the red furry creature? I love him too! He should have his own show!

I just got an e-mail from one of the autograph auction places that I trust, about their auction that ends tomorrow.  In addition to a breath-taking Kim Novak photo; how often do you see an autographed Lili St. Cyr (God Bless, Lili St. Cyr!)?

His name is "Hungry" - and they've pulled his video from YouTube (copywrights you know).

Several former co-workers, who were at the service yesterday, commented on how much weight I had lost.  Right after the holidays?  How did that happen???

I liked Charles Nelson Reilly a lot. Every visit he made to Drama Book Shop was a hoot and when he'd call with questions he'd ask for me. He was very intelligent and well-read and he'd spend a bit of time in the shop cruising the clerks. In 1979-1980 we had a very handsome and very smarmy clerk named Craig who went out with Mr Reilly a few times hoping to push his acting career. Charles deserved better. Crag's roommate Richard kept company with Evil Queen Director John Dexter for a while for the same reasons.

More to follow when my bio gets published. Names will be named and tales told.

Well, he was your client, and they're your hands, I guess how you fill them is your business. (But I bet Henry could tell a tale or two ::))

And speaking of Fox News...

They just did a segment "complaining" about how the broadcast rights to some of the Inaugural Events this weekend have been sold/bought by various networks thus making them not "accessible to everybody".  Of course, the big focus was on today's Lincoln Memorial concert which is being carried on HBO... And it wasn't until after the commercial break that they acknowledged that it was also being carried by NPR.  -Thus making it available to everyone, albeit on the radio, but still to "everyone".  And, apparently, the commentators didn't realize that there is a difference between having "digital cable service" and having "HBO".... Yadda, yadda, yadda...

*However, it was cool seeing the segment from last night where Mike Huckabee gave a classroom of sixth-grade girls from Atlanta tickets to the Swearing-In Ceremony on Tuesday.

You decide.  Here I am just before the service yesterday.  Do I look thinner to you?
