Well, let's put it this way. If you do less than 80 on the 14 freeway, you'll get passed by old ladies in cadillacs, giving you the finger!

When Keith (my husband) and I were in high school he would take me on long drives (from West LA) to the sparsely populated Palmdale. It was a real treat for me.

Well, I wouldn't call it sparsely populated anymore. LOL. I never thought I'd like it here, it was always so "desert-y", but it was the only place my husband and I could afford to buy a house. Now I love it, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. There's not near the traffic of the Valley (I grew up in the Granada Hills/Northridge area), and there's a real feeling of family and community out here. Luckily I work from home, so I don't have the horrible commute that many do.

Stephanie it has been a long time since we were in Palmdale. It seemed nice and you are lucky indeed to avoid the traffic out there.

We now live outside the small town of Ashland, Oregon just over the California border.

Ooh, I love Oregon. My grandpa lives in Bend, and I try to get up there as often as possible, which sadly hasn't been for a couple of years now. My husband and I tried driving up there in January of 04, but got snowed out. LOL.

In all seriousness (or at least some seriousness), a disproportionately large number of HHW-ers are NWers, including several in Oregon: Jane, Keith, me (Portland), MBarnum (Salem)--am I forgetting anyone? And then there's the Washington contingent, but we try not to encourage them too much.

JRand I still don’t know how to get the scratch out of the cook-top but we did get the discoloration out of the microwave/convection oven with our Miracle cloth.

When we installed the new cook-top we were forced to install a chrome exhaust fan behind it. When we remember to use it, we just push a button and it rises up out of the counter top. The chrome was scratched during installation so I called the manufacturer and they sent us a polishing cloth to remove the scratch. I worked great

This stuff is great. It is called Miracle all purpose polishing cloth. It removes buff marks, scratches etc. from just about anything (so it says).

It's the Shroud of Turin. It's a microwave discoloration remover. It's two, two, two miracle cloths in one.

NOt that i know of.... Some are lawyers and others are farmers and lumberers...

Bend and Portland (our oldest son lives there) are nice. I haven’t been to Salem.

In December of ’03 we tried to drive to a wedding in California and couldn’t get there thanks to a huge snowstorm. This month we had planned to visit Keith’s mother in LA and had a huge rain storm.

So, I'm back from the TPunk festivities. When I left, the orgy was in full swing, and our DR TPunk has many wonderful and fascinating friends. I had a lovely burrito, some chips and spicy salsa, and two delish margaritas. A good time was had by all. And now I'm home. And drunk.

There are a couple but most are male lawyers.... Several work as seismologists and vulcanologists...
