TOD:

I don't eat cereal anymore.

When I was a kid, I ate all kinds of sugar-laden junk.  Some memories include:

Fruity Pebbles
Captain Crunch with Crunchberries
Frosted Flakes [they're gRRRRRRReat!]
Lucky Charms  [they're magically delicious!]
Fruit Loops
Sugar Pops

:)

Isn't it kind of crazy how much breakfast cereals cost now?  They seem to have risen in price out of proportion to everything else...

Thanks to DRs FJL and JoseSPiano for their status reports on Xanadu.

DR elmore3003, continued ***dismissal vibes** for you today.  Also, I hope that you will put the new KW volumes on a LOW shelf!?!?!

I'm seeing Xanadu, I believe, on June 5th. There isn't much going on right now. I do still need to see Legally Blonde.

The subject of a e-mail that just arrived this morning!

Subject: Get Free 2 Boxes of Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles Cereal

Coincidence?  I think not.

Tomovoz - No blame to Jose for any of my bad moods.  in fact, I have been in an almost continuous good mood since spending time with jose and singdaw on sunday (despite the Sunday Xanadu perfromance cancellation) - their general good spirits are a lesson for all.

It's called selective marketing.  Targeting your consumer, and all that.  How canny they are in your case, DR TCB!  :)

TOD:

My absolutely favorite cereal was Quisp!  Sweet, sugary, melt-in-your-mouth and stick-to-your-teeth Quisp!  Loved it!  With or without milk.

Oh, you kid!

That's us...madcap and fancy-free!   :)

Are you sure it wasn't the retail therapy that did it?    ;)

Love ya, DR FJL.

I have never seen nor heard of QUISP.

Do they still make it?  Was it, perhaps, a regional thing?

SUGAR POPS
became
CORN POPS

Sugar Puffs
became
Wheat Puffs

TOD:

Runner-ups:

Cap'n Crunch
Quake
Honeycomb
Cocoa Puffs
Rice Krispies
Trix

But to tell the truth, it there was a nifty prize inside or a had-to-have-it send-away, I would pester my parents for anything.  I really disliked Fruit Loops and Apple Jacks, but I recall whining for boxes of each because I wanted the prize inside.

I still have a small collection of cereal toys, too.

DR Singdaw, head to Quisp.com to get info on all things Quisp.

Quisp had a companion cereal called Quake:

The two characters (the animated commercials were produced by Jay Ward)  had an on-going feud about whose cereal was better.  There was eventually a national vote (preceding American Idol by decades) and Quisp won by a landslide.  This resulted in the Quake character being redisgned into a slim cowboy and his cereal later begin changed into some blehh-tasting orange affair.

They don't seem to sell my favorite cereal here in canada anymore. I wonder if they still sell it in the US.  Honey Nut Cornflakes.

My new favorite is the puff balls of Reeses pieces. Not sure exactly what it is called, but some of the puffs are peanut buttery and some are chocolately.
