The Times is reporting that Marian Mercer has passed away, according to a post by kieran on ATC.

I loved Marian Mercer!

Well, if I die today, blame the vicodin. My mouth is killing me now the anesthesia has worn off so I thought I'd see what was in the medicine cabinet. I had two tablets of vicodin left so without reading the label, I took both of them. Then I got all pancky and called US Poison Control. The man asked me the dosage and told me I will get very drowsy. He didn't  start screaming for an ambulnce or anything so I guess I'll sweat it out.

If you OD, we will send Mikey to revive you.

I just realized somehow I jumped back to page three.  Interesting I don't remember reading the posts there.  I'll have to see what else I'm missing.  Obviously DR elmore is fine & enjoying the double dosage of Vicodin. :)

Was William E. Lurie the mathematician?  Wasn't his partner here, too, for a while?  Who was that?

Rob and Mary Linda's wedding is 4 months from today.  Richard and I weren't even engaged yet (but close...).

Keith and I had been married 12 years & had two children before the age Bryan was when he got married.  I am not happy about this great delay in giving me grandchildren.  Bryan doesn't even want them.  Poor Craig wants children very much.

He'd let me die and spend the visit trying to lure desperate men of Mediterranean aspect up to the fire escape.

I have this vision of a really bad bus & truck WEST SIDE STORY. After all, Mikey is a 14 year-old girl trapped in an old older man's body!

When the movie first came out in the 70s, I thought the name of the film was THE TAKING OF PHLEGM 123.  I thought it was one of the strangest titles ever.

Now I understand WHY you made this comment out of nowhere. ;D

I forgot to mention, DR cillaliz, what a fantastic photo that was! I was going to download it for my "friends file" of photos, but I couldn't take it off the newspaper's page. When DR edisaurus - where is she these days? - was working on the birthday DVD for BK, I was happy I had a photo in my files of the late Richard Valley to send to her for inclusion.

Thanks, I think I may have gotten the photo let's see if this works

Very nice pictures, Cilla!

That post reminds me of a dinner party Betsy and I went to where the entire conversation was about aches and pains and various bodily functions, at which point one guy said, "Oy, this really is a dinner with nothing but over 50 Jews."  :)

I thought you were going to say all old people. ;D

Nope, sorry, only Jews complain.   ;)

DR elmore I only meant I hoped he was alive to respond to your comment he could come yell at you.  I wasn't making a comment at all as to your personal dislike of him.  I did include a smiley face.

That's okay. I've gone through various "moods" about, and occasional battles with, various DRs, but I generally like everyone who posts here except for William Lurie. I was happy when he stopped posting. I never wished him dead, though, just somewhere else. And now he is.

Strange coincidence that we find out that he died, at the same time we found out about Osama bin Laden!  Hmmmmmmmm.
