I saw Nick and Nora and yes, it was just as ghastly as you've heard - or worse.

I'm happy to announce that Stages/Together Again and the Harvey Schmidt CDs are up and available for preorder at www.kritzerland.com.  You can hear audio clips, and even see photos from Stages.  So, hie yourselves over there and be amongst the first to order - every little bit helps.  I was surprised to see, in fact, that someone already had ordered the two titles, even though there has been no announcement and it's only been up for about an hour.

www.cnn.com/2005/US/08/16/computer.frenzy.ap/index.html

Has anyone read this story about the used laptop rush in Henrico County, VA?

"Blandine Alexander, 33, said one woman standing in front of her was so desperate to retain her place in line that she urinated on herself."

That's classy, folks.

Jose, aren't you from around those parts? ;)

Well, if you go to http://www.timesdispatch.com, you can read all about it.  There are also some great related articles to put the whole "sale" into perspective.  And you can also see pictures from the event such as this:

-Just yet another reason why it was time to get out of Richmond, I guess.

;)

*Unfortunately, another "reason" appears to be the work stoppage order on the new downtown Arts Center.  Something about permits not being secured.  Ah, well...

I’m attempting to downsize a photo in order to post it.  Not only has it been a long time since I have done this but Keith has made changes on the computer to further confuse me.  If I can’t downsize I might try and post it as is.

At least I did step one and transferred it from email to my photo file.

DRJose, when are you back to  the City?

My father just called; it loks like I'll be heading back to Ohio sometime around Sept 21 and returning sometime after Sept 27.

I missed NICK AND NORA; I was out of town with a show, and it closed too quickly.  I hear it was worse than ASPECTS OF LOVE, which is hard to believe.

DR elmore - I will be back sometime this Sunday, late afternoon.  -And I'll call you in a bit too.

I think I had better wait until Keith is done mowing the lawn and ask for assistance.  The photo is rather large as it.

I suspect Jose put him up to it.

Just send it to me at GEORDIEMC@AOL.COM and I'll de-viagraize it.

I'm happy to announce that tomovoz is the first from this here site to order the new CDs.

And not that I would ever attempt to guilt trip people, but I am rather surprised at the number of denizens of this here website who haven't even ordered the first two CDs.

A little better was Stanley Kramer's widow reminiscence about her husband.

I believe that is actress Karen Sharpe who appears in HIGH AND THE MIGHTY, and is on the commentary track.

Someone who may or may not live in Portland and who has been indirectly referenced (are you listening, Jose? ;)) may or may not claim to have been the "secret" music director of Nick & Nora.  Now this is hilarious for any number of reasons, not the least of which would be he has no credit anywhere in anything to do with the show and, more importantly, why would you want to claim something like that to begin with?  :)

My friend brought fried chicken for lunch which was delish, but it made me VERY sleepy. I took a 45 minute nap this afternoon.

You are correct, kind sir. She mentions about meeting Stanley for the first time when she was starring with Jerry Lewis in THE DISORDERLY ORDERLY, and she walked across the street to the set where SHIP OF FOOLS was shooting. She went to catch a glimpse of Vivien Leigh.

Okay, I'm confused and confounded, not necessarily in that order.

I just downloaded a pdf of my galley.  I clicked to open it and I get that stupid, ridiculous "preview" mode instead of it opening through adobe reader.  What do I do to STOP THE MADNESS?

I finally got the smarts to have the DVR record an episode of 77 SUNSET STRIP from, what's it called now - American Life Channel.

Anyway, I haven't seen the show in decades, and I can't wait to see what it look like now.

Did I miss an answer to the trivia?
"Pleasantville" - another favourite score from Mr Randy Newman.
"At Last" was used in the film. So was "Take Five" which seems a litle anachronistic to me. At least "Across the Universe" was not used in the film "proper".

I did miss the answer - blame it on Jose.

I apologise to Eydie Gorme - for so many years I Blamed everything on the Bossa Nova.

Matt H you also made me laugh.  The one in Bryan's building looks beautiful compared to this guy, but then I have never seen him from that angle. With good fortune I never will! ;D

Thanks MBarnum!  I had a great trip. I spent a lot of time running around downtown San Jose helping out with the Jazz Festival (by the end, I think some of the board members thought I worked there  :) )  I did get a little rest and relaxation by the pool.  And best of all I got to celebrate my mom's birthday with her.
