Wednesday morning greetings!  This is the beginning of my 4 days in a row at home (except for book group tomorrow evening).  Let the Christmas cocooning begin!

I allowed myself a slow start to the morning. It's always such a nice change when the early morning show or concerts are over.

I am somewhat nervous about learning all I need to know about what she has been doing for 20 years in only 6 more days

Vixmom, does she have some kind of procedures manual already prepared?  If not, I REALLY hope you take good notes!  I know I don't. ::)

I want to state on the record that I never was Anastasia and have never claimed to be. That I recall. What I said under the influence of relaxing substances is another subject matter.

I'm currently reading a biography of Douglas Adams, so that's in my mind.

I have decided not to purchase the new TV....I don't think the increase in screen size by 4" would really make that much difference....I will wait until I can get a screen that's at least 9 or 10 inches wider.....

Jrand, I assume you have room for something that much bigger?  A co-worker of mine told me that she can't get a widescreen TV larger than 36" because in her very small apartment, the only place that she can have a TV is that small.  Of course, she could also completely rearrange things, but that would require taking down shelves and really mucking things up in her place.

Live and learn.  But you have it now...and you will probably appreciate it much more now than if you'd had it all these years!

(That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

I think so too DR JANE.

I will have to measure for sure DR GEORGE, but I think I can get at least a 55" screen where my current tv is.

DRs Matthew and Jane:  Can you tell me how long it took to get an interview for Global Entry?  I applied in October and the status is still "wait for conditional approval."   Of course the time probably varies depending on geographic location but I'd like to get an idea.

I got really lucky.  It all happened rather quickly.  The day or so after my application was approved, I was told I needed to get an appointment and they are usually booked months in advance.  That would not have been good since I'm leaving for Amsterdam in a week.  So, I went online and the first appointment seemed to be in late January.  So, I kinda freaked out.  however, all of a sudden, there on the calendar was an appointment for THAT DAY.  So I grabbed it, made sure i had all my credentials and headed to the airport.  The interview was quick, and the card came a week or two later.  Best $100 I've ever spent.  It's good for 5 years.

I am home from City Center, and it was a long work day for me.  Joshie leaves tomorrow morning for Vermontm and I have the next seven days to myself at home.  We will get back to work on the 27th.

I watched THE NAKED CITY (1948) last night on DVD.

Hadn't seen it for 10 years or more, and I was amazed at the number of unbilled/then unknown performers in that cast who later had major careers as character actors...and stars.   Some of them just had silent or one line bits.  It was like "spot the future star".  Among them:

Arthur O'Connell
David Opatoshu
Nehemiah Persoff
Molly Picon
John Marley
James Gregory
Kathleen Freeman
Bruce Gordon
Paul Ford
John Randolph

and
Curt Conway (One of my very first publicity clients and one of the top acting coaches of his day.)

I may have missed one or two, but none of those folks had on-screen billing

 ???

Great movie

It’s been a long and fun day though rain kept us from doing much. We spent the evening playing rummy and drinking Aperol spritzers.
