End of theory. If I'm wrong,. I hope something will enthusiastically pull apart what i said. I'd like to be wrong about this, but I think it pervades theater criticism. Skip used to be a critic and one day his editor told him: It's easy to be bitchy, it's difficult to give specific praise and to give the true proportions of a performance.

I think that praising someone is a sign of humility, while pointing out the "bad" makes us feel more "intelligent" and smart! It's an ego trip! IMHO!

Rodney Gilfry just called me and this apartment search has been a nightmare from hell: the papers came through for the apartment on 157th and Broadway but it is not ready to be occupied: he told me this morning that there's been no work on it since Monday when we saw it and the girls cannot move in before the middle of next week. He was concerned because there was no crew working today and since it's a holiday weekend, he's shafted. So, there may be another possibility in the same neighborhood through another broker that he may go fo now. The poor man may have lost the money on the other apartment (which I heard the broker tell him wouod be ready by September 1), and I admire his energy and good spirits, but this is ridiculous. These landlords should be hanged by their balls.
