Well, the next time you're in the city, I'll have to take you to Grom for their Hot Chocolate.  It's basically their gelato base heated up.  Sooooooo good.  Soooooooooo rich.

I still want to taste the basil infused hot chocolate.  That sounds fabulous to me

I went supermarket shopping today and had the rudest teenage boy as a cashier......
You were absolutely right to go to the manager.  And I don't blame you for walking away from that disaster of a cashier.

At our store (I'm pretty sure by state law) cashiers must be at least seventeen years old.  Baggers can be hired as young as fourteen, but they are not working the registers.  They have to be at least fifteen to wrangle carts.

I consider myself lucky to have a good working relationship with our two baggers, Kenny and TJ.  I treat them as adults, not as kids, and they appreciate that kind of respect.  We have a new cashier, age 17, named Caitlyn, who is similarly responding to the adult treatment.  And dang, she's got the smarts!

The young workers who don't show any respect for the customers get weeded out fairly quickly.  Your cashier wouldn't last a week at our store.

I was lucky at work today - only one customer deserved bitchslapping.  He was out to gouge as much he could from the store, trying to make me accept two coupons for the same item.  Then he tried to blow me off by claiming the store was into "Game Theory."  Whatever that was supposed to mean.

The customer behind him thought he was totally disgusting, and told me so.

OK, I've wound down from work enough now.  Time to get dinner on the table, and then watch Torchwood with der B.

Or is that accompany der B in watching Torchwood, with John Barrowman and James Marsters?  Grammaticaly correct, that sort of thing.

The snow & ice melted so we had a nice walk on the trails today.  We fear a snow storm is headed our way tonight-hope the reports are wrong.

Rain vibes!

We were supposed to have snow this morning - we had rain.  We are supposed to have snow tomorrow, Monday, and / or Tuesday.  I don't think it is going to happen.

I know that different countiesd sell at different tiem.  Here in Suffolk County we sellour cookies ans candy about a month  to 6 weeks behind the Girl Scouts in Nassau County, so perhaps in New York they sell their nuts now...

Of course it is all sealed in cans so I expect it must have a reasonably long shelf life

I never knew that Girl Scouts had nuts.  That might have changed my entire high school social life.

DP Colin and I watched "This Sporting Life" last night.  I've avoided it for 45 years because it is about football.

Richard Harris sings in the movie - and it's not "Camelot" and certainly not "How To Handle A Woman'.

DR Jeanne do you have any knowledge of BBC series "The Street"?  There are two series available.

It sounds familiar. The one I recall, which I did not see, sounded a bit like EASTENDERS. Relatively new?

Don't blame you one bit for walking away, DR Vixmom, and I'm glad you informed the management of his people skills (or lack thereof). No reason to tolerate that kind of disregard and disrespect.

I began my evening finishing THE JEWISH AMERICANS. I watched Episode 3 and the first of three bonus features. I'll have to get the other two done tomorrow afternoon so I can get the review posted tomorrow evening.

Next up, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST - SEASON 3.

Next, I watched the next-to-late skating group in the ladies long program. These were the skaters in places 10-6. One little girl (aged 14) whose last name was Zhang skated a perfect program. In fact, she had been predicted to win before she fell on her triple lutz in her short program. Anyway, she hit everything in her long program, skated to "Ave Maria," simply brilliant.

Excellent TORCHWOOD episode tonight - with some fun teasers here and there - particularly at the end.

James Marsters is very good in his role.
