Has anyone ever heard of a program called Year of the French?
Ohh... Just missed DR Danise...
Good Morning, Larry!
And, who knows, maybe your insurance adjuster will be a former Bollywood actor who recently relocated to the United States to try out a new career. Or he could even be a former Sword & Sandal actor from the 1950s!
Ohmigod, no! The number of auto accidents in the Pacific Northwest would quadruple overnight!
I actually misunderstood TOD. When I saw what people previously posted I had to rethink my choice.
I was going to say ALICE DOESN"T LIVE HERE ANYMORE one of the great service comedies about waitresses.
Speaking of my Grandmother, did you know that when I was a little girl, she taught me to speak fluent German? Or so I was told. I don't remember any of it.
If you don't have someone to practice with, you lose it.
Good morning Jose and other friends.
Jose, since you're on line now you're obviously not at Trader Joe's!
I went yesterday afternoon for a couple of things and the lines were managable. I got into the separate 6 items or less line and was out in less than 10 minutes. The big line, however was a different story. I was happy with my purchase of 3 bananas, some baby spinach and a pint of cherry tomatoes.
I am listening to the finale of the 1812 Overture on BBC 2, Melodies for You presented by Sheridan Morely. Quite inspiring.

Well, the DMV is their usual helpful self - have to go down there and wait to replace the license. Last time, it was three hours.
DR TPunk - How was your weekend in Pennsylvania?
*Any plans for tonight? I think I need a Splash fix. ;)
I have to tell you..."Die! Die! My Darling" totally put me off "Bye Bye, Birdie".
And I'm still put off it.
I'm now envisioning a bizarre hybrid of the two. Either BYE-BYE, MY DARLING or DIE! DIE! BIRDIE!
Ann-Margret can star in either. And there has to be a number in each with her dancing in her hot pink capris.

MattH I have no idea of which cast recording of Man of La Mancha I should look for... suggestions are greatly welcome!
PA was good, although the weather was not so great. I may or may not be hanging out with my brother and his family for a portion of the evening, but I'm sure I can fit in a little time for Musical Monday.
Dear Elmore,
I said a special prayer for you and yours at church yesterday
-Well, actually, the vegetables are from Whole Foods - or "Whole Paycheck" as some people call it. ;)
There was a Cyril Cusak listed in the credits, any relation to John I wonder?
DR Vixmom, have you decided WHICH cast recording of MAN OF LA MANCHA you're going to spring for?ANYTHING BUT STOKES MITCHELL!!!!
I did manage to clear out the room though :-X :-\

Tomorrow is 6/6/06....it is also our primary election day....coincidence?
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
I'm still here, DR Vixmom, and wanted to ask how The Vixter's mathathon went? Thanks for asking, she did really well, with the help of many generous DR's she was able to raise a total of $566.00 (as of 7:45 AM EST today she was planning to try asking a few more teachers and aides to get her to her goal of $600.00)
Why does your OB-GYN leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to look up there anyway?MY ob-gyn?
Friday night the Vixter and I went to see a local production of Man of La Mancha.
I was quite impressed with the set and the staging and the acting and the singing...it was very well done indeed.
The Vixter absolutely loved it and has demanded that without delay I procure for her a cast recording of the show
Well! Life is full of surprises. In the first years I lived in New York, I was friendly with an actor just off the tour of PIRATES OF PENZANCE. One day I ran into him on Amsterdam Avenue - or the Amsterdam Ave. bus - and he told me he was moving to Los Angeles. That's over 20 years ago. In Luke Yankee's memoir of Eileen Heckart, he acknowledged a Dean Regan, who turned out to be my long lost friend! We are now reconnected through the wonders of the internet, and that's been the nicest thing to happen so far today. My friend is aging much better than I, I have to say, as you can see from his photo.
Tonight is the finale of THE APPRENTICE (9:30pm-11pm). I would imagine that Shawn will win.
Oh for all you guys who are musical theatre fans, REGIS and KELLY is having their broadway week this week. Tomorrow is THE COLOR PURPLE.
Did I ever say that I finally sold my old house? I found out yesterday I'd forgotton to mention it to Paul.
That is a little creepy, Cillaliz...I am glad you didn't open your window!
Good news that you sold your house, Cillaliz! Do they still forward mail to you from the old address you do you have a new one?
I'd like the new address (PM'ed to me of course) if you wouldn't mind.
DR Cillaliz - Congrats on the sale of your old house. Hope it results in a nice windfall for you.
Cillaliz-I think your instincts were correct to keep the window up. Congratulations on the house, when is the closing?
Elmore-How fun you reconnected with your friend. You need fun distractions right now.
I think you are both adorable.
Not only do you need a new hip, you need new glasses! :-*

I wanted a walk today so I drove up to Spirit Mound. The Sioux thought it was inhabited by little devils, but Lewis and Clark went there anyway....it's a park now. The trail is about 1 1/2 miles. Funny, I hate to walk in my neighborhood, but will gladly drive 30 miles to walk there.
Being around Paul right now is a trip. He dyed his hair green in New York. Said he was sick of white/gray. It's faded a bit and this being Iowa where someone well over 50 doesn't normally dye his hair green, everyone is asking if he had problems with the chlorine in a swimming pool. LOL.
Interesting you say that Cilla. IN Nebraska, such mounds were revered by the Pawnee who believed spirit animals resided in them.
Topic of the Day:

Oh please, DR Elmore, like it or not, you are adorable!
It's actually a chalk mound, not a burial mound. It's one of the few places you can really say Lewis and Clark stood here. For what that's worth. A few years ago I participated in a 10 mile hike from the river in Vermillion, SD to the mound. It was pretty cool. We crossed a river in a canoe and read from the journals a few times. The funny thing was they had a port-a-potty on a trailer behind a pickup truck that followed us on the trip. We also stopped for a catered lunch outside the home of one of the Deans at the University of South Dakota. Somehow I don't think the Corps of Discovery had all that!
Closing is the 15th. Does anyone know much about Radon? They tested the house for Radon and the reading was 3 times the acceptable level. (good thing I'm not there any more) They are buying anyway. I know radon can cause lung cancer in humans. I didn't see anything on what effect it can have on pets.
I remebering seeing the movie when I was a kid. It was very scary, especially when Radon ate the commuter train car!

Then my guess is the cats are probably safe....they are much too small to even whet his appetite
If she enjoyed the show, please don't ruin the moment by letting her see the movie!
Here's what I wanna know. Why don't they remake this BAD movie into a good movie, instead of remaking good classic movies into bad movies.
I lost my wallet and had gone back to the place where I last remembered having it but it was gone. Then, three days later, I got it back in the mail with a note that said "Be more careful."

Ginny I go hiking alone all the time. Of course I choose the locations I feel comfortable in. For the most part I'm more concerned about falling or the wildlife than I am about a person attacking me.
DRLaura-The kitty is cute.
DR Cillaliz - yikes! I wouldn't go alone to a hiking trail, unless I had a big dog along. And congrats on selling the old house - that's a relief, I bet.
So George Bush says that the gays, with their agenda, are ruining the institution of marriage. That's funny, I thought it was the 50% divorce rate that was ruining the institution of marriage.
George, didyou understand my note?
I did (I read it this afternoon), but right now, I don't exactly remember what it said. ::)
Tonight in his monologue, Jay Leno said that Bush has said that 51% of Americans don't like gay marriage, but went on to say that 70% of Americans don't like Bush!
Go Jay!! ;D
