Hello!

TOD:
I watched UGLY BETTY Season 1 on DVD and really enjoyed it. I catch Season 2 when I can. I don't watch any other shows.

As for the Topic of the Day...  Hmm...  Let me see what comes to mind...

(In no particular order)

"Samantha Who"
"Lost"
"Ugly Betty"
"The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency"  ;)
"Chelsea Lately" - So funny, and just sooo wrong.
"Brothers and Sisters"
PBS' "American Masters" - Especially the Carol Burnett and Charles Schulz profiles
"Dexter"
"Heroes"
"One Life To Live: Prom Night: The Musical" - Just bad, bad, bad, bad, bad!  ;D

It's a beautiful day here in Dogpatch, USA. Frankly, I'd enjoy a bit of snow tomorrow, but it isn't likely.

My "camera shake" produced the image of trees full of question marks.

Well, as long as you wear your red polka dot top.

And post a picture.

And speaking of Christmas decorations...  I'm actually planning on heading back into town tonight to take pics of some of the classic light displays here in town, but the meantime, here are some pics from the living room here:

The reindeer sort of scare me:

I am making my men move furniture around today, since their holiday rushes are over now. DS works for Amazon.com and DH works for USPS.

Some pundits attribute Sweeney's fifth place because of being in only 1200 theaters, and they point out to its second highest per-screen average for the weekend.  The problem with doing so is that had it been on 1500 more screens it would have come in 4th, most likely, but its screen average would, again most likely, have been fifth.  And had it been on 1500 more screens I think it actually would have done worse than it did.  All that said, there's nothing wrong with its opening week gross - however, it's clear it will not be a record-breaker, which is what everyone, all these teenage box-office-following-theater nerds were saying.

DearReaderLaura DR - fun picture yesterday.  We also had our pageant.  They used a live infant for the baby Jesus!

I can't wait 'til Good Friday!

It's been sort of interesting here in Richmond in regards to news anchors.  There always seems to be at least one quietly "open" news anchor at each station at any particular point and time.  You will see them at Gay Pride events, hanging out at the local "special interest establishments", etc.  For a market that still "likes" to be "traditional" and dare I say "prudish", I've always found it kind of cool.

Of course, there is the CBS affiliate in DC that always seemed to have a gay weatherman.  Alas, some of those meteorologists seemed to be a bit too partial to the weather - well, at least being outside, if you get my drift.  :o :-\

...I took a tape recorder to my grandmother's place some years back and have a wonderful, irreplaceable treasure there.

Unless you have transferred it to CD, that "irreplacable treasure" tape will bleed through with time - particularly the old reel-to-reel stuff.

I just saw a "Santa Tracker" update on Fox News (don't ask...I'm in the SOUTH!).

During the Noon news here, the Santa Tracker had Old St. Nick and Sleigh over Georgia (Russia).

*I also got a kick out of the weather forecast for the next 24 hours.  Instead of 3:00pm, 6:00pm, etc., they had it listed as:

"Final hour of Christmas shopping"
"Christmas Eve Mass"
"Midnight Mass"
"Children's Christmas Mass"
"Christmas Lunch"
"Christmas Dinner"

Ooh, that animal part of the shopdropping article was sad.  :(  That'll teach me to skim articles rather than read the whole thing before commenting.

If only there were a way to sneak the "swallow" rhyme into that ode and still not violate the decency rules of this family site, I'd be even merrier

Trine to Uranus

Will follow, follow, follow

I'm trying to think of any other series that had individual episodes that really stuck.  Nope, not happening.

How about the Torchwood "Capt. Jack Harkness" episode?
Another depiction of the ironies of war.
