It's too blankin' early, but I've got to get to work. :P
At least this means I get off work early, too.
On the TV show THE MOTHERS-IN-LAW, wasn't there an "introducing" card before Deborah Walley as SUZIE?
Oh, good point, Dan. I wonder why "Deborah Walley as SUZIE" has stood out in my mind, though. Maybe because she's the only one whose character didn't have the same first name as the actor (in the first season anyway).
Dan - I did try to find the guy who said "I can't believe I ate the whole thing." :)

Speaking of the Unseemly Trivia Contest, am I the only one who did research in the career of Clara Peller to see if she ever did a B'way musical?
I did, too. And the "That's a spicey meatball" guy. I was stuck in an Alka-Seltzer mode.
Tuesday morning greetings! My day started an hour earlier than usual, with a meeting at United Way, so I, too, get to go home early. My big event this afternoon is training on our new phone system - I now have 2 phones on my desk, but don't know the first thing about how to use the new one.
The Air Conditioner is Dead.....Long live the air conditioner.....
If it makes a noise, pick it up and say "Hello." ;D
I am sitting here like so much fish waiting for a call from the air conditioner man to see if they have one for me in stock that they can install today. If so, I work at home, if not, I may as well head out to the office....I am REALLY hoping they do. It's supposed to be 100 degrees here by Thursday. Today is overcast and is only supposed to be in the 80s so it's not bad - humid, but not too hot in here
...always check your metaphors!
Hmm... Of course, one of the days I decide not to play the lottery, my number actually comes up!?!?!?!?!
Or was it "I am Mr. Norman Twain?"
And PS - hey, guys, it's good to be back!
I had a problem with my central a/c unit last week, but I've had more luck than you DR Cillaliz. The fan was running but the air wouldn't cool. The a/c man came yesterday afternoon and attached some kind of jump-start kit to the compressor and it's as good as new. Plus the a/c man was a cool drink of water himself.
....plus the a/c man "has a nice personality"
Related to Lionel Twain?
Yup he was purty good in that movie.... Esther Williams had to decide between Saxon and George Nader.... As if.... 8)

Elmore! Good vibes for your family and your trip home. I guess the abcess is tweaking, to illustrate what a pain in the ass all this has been... always check your metaphors!
Best of travel wishes for all of the HHWs on trips either to home and away from home: DRs Elmore, Rodzinski and TPunk, Jane, and any others I've forgotten.
Sorry about the health issues, DR Elmore. I'll keep the good thought that it isn't what you fear.
And yet Jeff Chandler was all hers, so long as she was willing to share her wardrobe.
DR elmore:
-Good Health Vibes to Your Father.
-Good Mental Health Vibes to Your Family. ;)
-Good Travel Vibes to You. *Do you need someone to pick you up at the airport?
-And I'll see Marcy and Zina and Friday, so.. :)
DR Jose, do you want to come out to LaGuardia? I'm on flight 2448 scheduled to arrive around 6:34 pm. I figure by the time I pick up the bag from bagcheck, it will be close to 7 PM! I'll look for you, and if I don't see you, I'll grab a taxi!
In the movie SIMONE, about a computer-genereated figure called Simone, does anyone remember whether the credits actually said "introducing Simone as Herself?"
In the original theatrical release, Simone was credited "as herself". In subsequent versions of the film, this was changed to "and introducing Rachel Roberts as Simone."[/size]
Good travel vibes, DR Elmore!
Man that lunch half hour really goes by fast! Be safe, DR Elmore.
...bring their cameras (still NOT vid)....
Speaking of the Unseemly Trivia Contest, am I the only one who did research in the career of Clara Peller to see if she ever did a B'way musical?
yes, DRMBARNUM....you are correct....Mr John Saxon was introduced in the final billing sequence as an "exciting new screen personality" in THE UNGUARDED MOMENT, and he did very well!
Do a/c men have plumber's cracks?

Last seen on Sunday - in the park with George.
Where is Nursie Jane?
I don't think there would have been, DR FJL. Walley played Gidget in the movies before THE MOTHERS-IN-LAW (I wish that series was on DVD!)
And the word of the day is: DIAPHORESIS!Originally, the chararcter Hero in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum was supposed to say "I PAID HORSES for their DIAPHORESIS," but someone decided the phrase "mare's sweat" was easier to understand. No, really, it was either Shevlove or Gelbart who awoke one night, absolutely drenched, terrified that the part would be cast with an actor with an uncontrolable lisp. Try it, say "I PAID HORSES for their DIAPHORESIS" with a lisp, you'll end up wetter than an otter's pocket.
Which is what happens when I jog.
Is a Meta-Phor akin to a Metro-Sexual?This is a family site. Discussing what a Meta-Phor does for a living is, well, we just won't discuss it.
....I could almost say that we all deserve to share this wonderful prize, but, of course, we don't. I won it, and I am going to keep it!

There is also one for his son, Carpenter:

:)
Esther Williams, meet your match!:)
I just read on Playbill.com that Barnard Hughes (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/100817.html) has died. He would have turned 91 years old on July 16. :(
DR Elmore - I'm glad you made it home safely. Everything OK in the apartment?
Well the air conditioner man NEARLY finished. Which means no air tonight. But the 90 + temps aren't supposed to start until tomorrow. He said he could be done in a couple hours tomorrow AM. We shall see.
Here I am in Ohio, sitting on my brother's porch keeping Lefty the dog from attacking the home care aide interviewing my dad inside the house.
