Well, you've read the notes, the notes were big and ahead, and now it is time for you to post until the week ahead cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MERCURIAL!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after Dino (and BK).
-
Second post after BK!
-
Well, I'm off to bed so that I can sleep as long as I want! Most unfortunately however, I'll need to go to bed real early because tomorrow at work, several of us are going on a field trip to the Sno-Isle Library in Marysville, Washington. We're meeting at work at 7:00 a.m. :o I don't usually wake up until 9:00 a.m.
It's gonna be a looooooooong day on Monday.
-
But today, I sleep! :D
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good morning!
-
Today was a first. Annabelle and Thatch let me sleep in an extra hour without carrying on about breakfast, This usually begins around 6:15, so the fact that I slept until 7:45 with Thatch beside me still shocks me.
-
For the first time in over a week, I'm not feeling puny, so I hope that bodes good.
-
It's going to be in the high 80s and humid; it's been raining and the skies look as though it's only 6:OOam. Maybe the cats are confused?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Crazy day today with this cabaret and all.
-
I hope everyone (and that includes me, thankyouverymuch) has a good one.
-
Crazy day today with this cabaret and all.
Break A Leg!
-
Thanks for the vibes DR TCB.
-
DR Vixmom it sounds like your coworker did not want to cover for you :(
VIBES a solution is found before your planned break.
-

Staying well vibes for you.

Crazy day today with this cabaret and all.
Break A Leg!
From me too!
-
I am watching "My Name is Barbra" and am not falling asleep.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Enjoying my trip to San Angelo and a visit with Bonnie.
-
We watched movies and she made lobster ramen. Delicious.
-
Sunday Sweet Sunday.
Vibes for DR CHAS SMITH and his cabaret and all.....
-
I am enjoying reading about The Sherman Event as MR BK makes it happen.
We had a very good performance and a wonderful audience last night for The Mousetrap....sold out! Again!
-
Off from theatre business for two days!
I moved my computer into the new Computer Room - formerly my mother's sewing room..... I have it setting on a old desk. I will need some help to move the actual computer table (a nice white writing table I bought at WalMart several years ago).
This is a very nice arrangement even though it wasn't done by DR ELMORE.
And my wifi seems to be quicker than my wired connection.
-
Listening to a Teresa Brewer LP titled "Heavenly Lover" which is exactly as you would imagine it would be....in Coral Stereo!
-
Sunday morning greetings! Sorry for being E & T all day yesterday. I went with 4 of my DAR friends to an all-day leadership training session in the northern Cincinnati 'burbs and came home exhausted. Napped for an hour, fixed dinner for Richard and myself, and barely made it to 9pm before crashing for the night.
-
DR GINNY I am reading my PLAYBILLS this morning! Thanks so much!
-
DR GINNY I am reading my PLAYBILLS this morning! Thanks so much!
You're welcome, DR JRand! I'm glad you got them so quickly - just mailed them on Thursday.
-
Oh, look, here's Page 2!
-
Break a leg, Chas!!!
-
I am all out of sorts and out of order. I forgot to catch up on last night's posts. Must go do that!
-
Thank you all for the broken legs!
-
Before I go, here are the programs my friend found and gave me the other night:
-
And...
-
Caught up on last night, and TCB, I'm sure no one ever gets and tired of your nightly posts.
-
vixmom, sorry to hear that co-worker is leaving. But glad she gave the notice so people can plan.
I'm sure if the worker was considerate, your boss will be free to leave everything on fantastic terms, so that he and you all can feel comfortable calling that co-worker if any questions about anything that co-worker had worked on.
That had gone wrong with us when the boss decided to tell an employee who gave notice to just leave ahead of when she wanted to go (she wanted leave at the very end of the year, start her new job at the start of the new year with no real break; the boss was "penny-wise pound-foolish" and balked at paying her for 2 office Christmas holiday days; and then of course questions came up for us about how files were named, since she had no time to get things ready in transition, and no one felt comfortable calling her up to ask her.
Irony: Yet as fate had it, she hated the corporate structure at the new place, the very corporate environment she thought she yearned for (example: her family was in China, and the new very corporate by-the-rules new place couldn't ever let her have 2 to 3 weeks together off to make that China trip with her son worthwhile), and decided to come back to my boss, after all. :).
-
Thanks for posting those old programs, Chas!
-
Interesting to see the names like Lerner and Loewe and Moss Hart in relatively small fonts.
-
Such fun to read more Sherman event details.
-
Every now and then, a gem from someone on All That Chat, when someone noted inconsistencies regarding Cher playing the grandmother in the new sequel:
"Textual cohesion has never been MAMMA MIA!'s strong suit."
-
I'm up, I'm up - about eight hours and fifteen minutes of sleep.
-
I thought my meeting was at one but it's at noon so must get ready for that.
-
Meeting went well - very organized now and my stage manager will now take over a lot of the stuff I've been doing that I shouldn't be doing. So, he'll schedule the sound check day and all that stuff. So, that's off my shoulders now.
-
My dead aunt enjoyed seeing the programs DR CHAS SMITH posted.
-
Good afternoon.
-
It is getting rather toasty here today.
-
Nice playbills
-
I wouldn't think of Reginald Gardiner for the role of Doolittle. I could see him more in the role of Pickering. Oh well, more money as Doolittle, I suppose.
-
We used to have the album of Florence Henderson's SOUTH PACIFIC at the radio station where I worked in college.
-
It was no threat to Mary Martin, but I enjoyed it.
-
In fact, I think I may have featured it on the first night of my Broadway Showtime program.
-
My dead aunt enjoyed seeing the programs DR CHAS SMITH posted.
I am only a few days older than you, so I wish you would stop referring to me as your dead aunt!

I think it is time to relocate to the bedroom where the air-conditioner is waiting.
-
Perhaps I can persuade Nicky to join me in there.
-
But today, I sleep! :D
Have a good day, all!
I slept, I'm up, and now I sweat. Right now, it's 87.8°F up here in my bedroom. :P
-
I think it is time to relocate to the bedroom where the air-conditioner is waiting.
I have no air conditioning. :'(

There must be something going on at Point Defiance.
-
We have had about six fire trucks and emergency vehicles go by in the last five minutes.
-
Usually, if it is someone that collapses at the retirement home, there is only one fire truck and one EMT truck called.
-
There goes vehicle number seven.

I don't really have any place to put a portable one if it has to vent out of a window. My entire place is three stories and practically no doors, so the cold just runs down the stairs and the heat just rises up to my bedroom and out my skylight...when I keep it open, which is all the time until the winter when it's too cold to keep it open.

Apparently, a woman fell over the cliff at the Narrows outlook.
Oh, no! :(
-
One of the people who responded to the news story is Jenn YoAdrien. Isn't that Rocky's girlfriend?
-
My dead aunt enjoyed seeing the programs DR CHAS SMITH posted.
LOL!
For a living Broadway aunt dance, though, here again, Carole King as "Aunt Helen" on the MTM show

Apparently, a woman fell over the cliff at the Narrows outlook.
Oh, no! :(
You have to work pretty hard, and climb over a fence, if she fell where they are saying she fell.
-
Vehicles eight and nine have arrived! Now I am thinking the crews just want to get out in the sun.
-
The emergency personnel have reached the woman and are bringing her up the hillside. She is conscious and alert.

You need one of these, DR George. I think our DR Jeanne has one similar.

Same here which is why we decided to go to the Science Museum with our friend and her daughters instead of to the zoo.
-
Apparently, a woman fell over the cliff at the Narrows outlook.
That does not sound good.
-
The emergency personnel have reached the woman and are bringing her up the hillside. She is conscious and alert.
That is good. If she really fell because she climbed a fence I wonder if she will be charged for the rescue.
-
Where else can you get news like that?
;D
-
I was up early to make a fruit salad to take to breakfast, before our outing, and then we went for an hour walk. We ran into our neighbor friends and took most of the walk with them.
-
I watched I, Tonya this afternoon while Richard read the Sunday papers in the other room. He would have hated the movie.
-
DR JANE there is a photo on BookFace with the tiny desk....and the shelves nearly done....hopefully the table will be moved in tomorrow, and I can post a photograph of the furnished-nearly-finished room.
Nice link DR FJL.

Watching the Wimbledon Men's Finals....
My portable air conditioner which has to vent OUT a window is in my former bedroom and hasn't been on for a few days since I moved into the big house....

Teresa Brewer is staring at me....she may be thinking evil thoughts....

Yes! Mine just arrived. It's a slightly larger unit, by Aiker for about $47. For some reason Amazon won't deliver the smaller units to California. The larger ones have a larger "tank." I'll let you all know how it works out. I don't expect it to cool an entire room--just a few feet. We'll see.

Did you like I, TONYA DR Ginny?
-
Good afternoon.
-
I have done my share to celebrate National Ice Cream Day.
-
I'm starting to watch On the Beach, which I haven't seen in ages. We had to read book in ninth grade English. Well, we had our choice of it, Brave New World and something else, which I don't remember. It might have been 1984. Anyway, I chose On the Beach.
-
National Ice Cream Day?! How'd I miss that? Time to remedy it.
-
Stay cool, everyone.
TTFN.
-
This weekend, Bonnie and I watched Touts les Matins du Monde, a wonderful French film about the composer Sainte Colombe, and Hitchcock's Rebecca, which was as wonderful as I remembered it being.
-
It's still too hot here.
-
Vixmom, I had to think of you this morning as I had some amazing enchiladas. The handmade corn tortillas were stuffed with smoked brisket and topped with lightly spicy jalapeno and red chile sauce, then topped with crumbled cotija cheese. The flavor was insanely good. So were the borracho beans on the side.
-
Glad you're feeling better, Elmore.
-
Hope the show goes well, ChasSmith.
-
National Ice Cream Day?! How'd I miss that? Time to remedy it.
I must remedy that, too! Fortunately, I have some ice cream in my freezer.
-
National Ice Cream Day?! How'd I miss that? Time to remedy it.
I may have to remedy it again myself.
-
I just ordered an Echo Show. I figured that if I were studying AI for work, I might as well do some AI living.
-
It was almost 50% off with Amazon Prime Day, which is less tasty to me than National Ice Cream Day.
-
Enjoy your Echo.
-
DR Jeanne I hope you are pleased with your new air conditioner.
-
I watched I, Tonya this afternoon while Richard read the Sunday papers in the other room. He would have hated the movie.
Did you like I, TONYA DR Ginny?
It had its moments. I remember the story very well and it was interesting to see it retold from so many points of view.
-
National Ice Cream Day?! How'd I miss that? Time to remedy it.
I may have to remedy it again myself.
And I’m about to do my part...

Sadly, when I looked in the freezer there were no more "Skinny Cow" ice cream sandwiches. I could have sworn there was one more.

You had me at smoked brisket

I have no idea what cotija cheese is, crumbled or otherwise
-
I have done my share to celebrate National Ice Cream Day.
Oh dear, I gave been remiss
-
Seth Rudetsky has posted a video of Judy Kuhn singing Nobody's Side from Chess. It's like the last 30 years just suddenly melted away.
-
I have no idea what cotija cheese is, crumbled or otherwise
Mexican white cheese. Lightly salty. Good stuff.
-
Had a little nap and am back to On the Beach.
-
oh no! I thought Amazon Prime Day was on Tuesday!
-
Does that make today Ice Cream Sunday?
I have not had any ice cream yet, but there's some fruit stuff i the freezer that could work instead.
-
I've gotten about a quarter of the way through Educated. Ginny, I think your description was fairly accurate. It's a Mormon Hillbilly Elegy.
I'll likely finish it off, but I doubt it's not going to land in my top 50 of the year.
-
I finished off Something Wonderful, which was wonderful indeed.
-
Had a good, drama-free rehearsal - I was quite charming and positive and it worked. After we finished with Mandy Wolf (Richard's granddaughter who is doing Small World as our finale), her mom and I and Monday all went to Barone's. I had a salad, a scampi appetizer (four shrimp - few calories), a little salad, and then equivalent of about three normal slices of pizza - it was great.
-
Then I came home, and did a bunch of stuff our stage manager needed - stage plot, latest show order, and most importantly I did a contact list.
-
Now I'm listening some Marlene Dietrich CDs - first one is twenty tracks with the Burt Bacharach Orchestra - his arrangements are great - and she adored Burt and he changed her life.
-
Starting to watch Song of Summer, the Delius movie from Ken Russell that BK recently wrote about. ,

The online reviews for this aren't great. I'll wait to read what Jeanne posts about hers.

I am pleased to report I have now properly saluted the day
-
Pure Breyers Vanilla
-
My debit card expired on the1st of this month
-
I forgot how many autopays are connected to that card
-
I am busy updating everything with the new info
-
Most importantly my ez pass and Sunpass so we don't have any issues on our trip
-
I forgot how many autopays are connected to that card
I know! Mine expired just last month and had quite the time trying to remember all my autopays.
-
Which I intend on taking even if it means my job

National Ice Cream Day?! How'd I miss that? Time to remedy it.
I must remedy that, too! Fortunately, I have some ice cream in my freezer.
Ice cream has been consumed! I went Fred Meyer for some shopping, then to Taco Del Mar (which is right next to FM) since I had a filled $5-off punch card.
-
I came home and had a frozen Hostess Ding Dong (http://hostesscakes.com/icecream). It's an actual frozen ice cream product, not just a Ding Dong that I put in my freezer. It was all quite delish.
-
oh no! I thought Amazon Prime Day was on Tuesday!
I thought it was tomorrow!
-
These arrangements Bacharach did for Dietrich are not only brilliant, they're pure Burt.
-
I think there's a full concert video on YouTube - so that may be my viewing for the next hour, unless I hold off tomorrow.
-
Page five? Really?
-
I have no idea what cotija cheese is, crumbled or otherwise
It is a mild cheese. Sometimes I crumble it onto a Mexican Bean salad
-
Which I intend on taking even if it means my job
Good.

I was able to load the alternate "Last Starfighter" poster they ended up with on my blog, under the photo of the first one that George had taken at the show:
http://music-and-comedy.blogspot.com/2018/06/the-poster-for-last-starfighter-at.html
I tried to load it here, but I guess it was too many MBs. (George, do you know how to make it fewer MBs so it can be in the posts here? But anyway, it's the second poster down at the above link.)
Both posters are also here, scrolled way down on this page.

Finished watching Song of Summer, which is Ken Russell in a minor key, but still distinctly Ken Russell. It was interesting to see Max Adian, the original Pangloss in Candide, as Delius. And the Christopher Gable of this film looked nothing like the Gable of Russell's The Boyfriend.
-
Good night, all.

Let me see.

"This is an actual tin type made with a old fashioned camera."
-
Nice Last Starfighter poster.
-
I like the tin type photo.
-
Well, I hate to do it (no, I really do), but I need to go to sleep now. I have to get up MUCH earlier than I usually do because I'm going on a field trip to another library that's north of Seattle. We're going to look at how they do things and see if we can incorporate any ideas to be more efficient. We'll see.
-
And after work, I'm going to go to the first Legally Blonde rehearsal. I'm sure that it'll go well. Maybe it'll just be a read-through...I don't know. I'll just be there to observe.
-
Anyway, I don't think I'll be able to post at all during the day.
Good night, Jane and anyone else here, and have a good day (tomorrow), all!
-
Listening to a 5th Dimension two-fer - very good.
-
'night.
-
Thanks so much for posting that, George!
-
Nice picture, Vixmom! (and thanks to George for putting that one up, too.)
-
Nice Last Starfighter poster.
Thanks. I think that became the style of the program cover for the last week of the run.
-
Good evening.
-
Fred, what are you doing up this late?
-
Have you heard from Second Story how the run of the show went?
-
It was really a terrific show.
