Sorry, bk!  That's very disappointing news about the male lead candidate.

Well, you won't believe it - our latest actor offer is renovating his NY apartment and therefore living on Long Island and doesn't care to commute.  Actors.  I remember a day...

I've got one more offer in me and then I have no idea where to go.  I'm very frustrated by this situation, but I'm not the only one who's having this problem, according to my general manager.

Too bad, BK, that YOU can't play the part. ::)

Back from my morning adventures, ( all morning! )  and have a few minutes to cool off before heading back out to go settle the last few things I need to get before going to NY, plus more asking for silent auction items/donations.

I've found that bereaved peope often want to talk about their loved one. Friends are often reluctant to even use the name of the deceased and after a time it seemed to add to add to the loss - as the existence of the person and the memories have been denied expression.

About ten days after the funeral is when peope are most in need of an ear.

Sometimes it is good to be tactile!

Eeeewwww!  Reminds of reading THE RUINS!  What a nifty, nightmare-inducing novel!
Any other DRs read THE RUINS yet?

Read it last autumn, the week it came out, after reading Stephen King's review in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.  I still can't imagine a film.

Miss Karen,  Was that you in Paris at some point from 1984 to 1986?  Oh, no, does that mean Cason may be my, my...

Wait, I'd better stop before I get put on the hook for his New York travel expenses.

But he does look a lot like I looked at his age, so -

I think that a film would be laugh-inducing rather than terror-inducing somehow.  .  . perhaps Frank Oz or Roger Corman could direct.   ::)

BK - Does it make you wonder why people audition if they know they're not going to accept the role if offered?

I did have a very nice conversation with the NYMF publicist (their overall publicist) about a certain post on All That Chat, where it seemed that the whole reason for doing NYMF shows was to have name actors - I found that a little off-putting, and not because I haven't cast my two leads yet, but because Barry Pearl is not chopped liver, and neither is Alet Taylor.  And that post clearly came from someone who had access to an e-mail sent out to all NYMF shows with EXACTLY the same copy.  So, we discussed that and other matters - I'm lucky in that this guy really likes me and my work, so that's going to help, I think.

Thank you all for the very kind wishes!!!

There was chocolate cake with choclate buutercream frosting and  chocolate mousse filling at work today

a birthday cake for ME!

Although it was rather garishly decorated, clearly by a colorblind  baker. The roses (which were large and beautifully created from buttercream frosting) were pink, purple and
day- glo orange
