As usual, I recorded DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and will watch it tomorrow. Also DEADWOOD will be recorded at midnight on HBO-West. Can't record the HD version since it and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES come on at the same time.

Rodzinski, you may be interested to know, then, that I have interviews coming out soon with cast members from both THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN and PIT AND THE PENDULUM.

Well, hopefully you will be interested...I would like to think that someone, somewhere will read them! LOL!

Glad you liked "Bright Young Things" Larry.  Satire is not easy. I guess that may have been almost the last film of Sir John Mills.

We watched "The End Of The Affair" the other night. I see similarities with Green and Waugh and their love/hate relationship with Catholicism in their writings.

I'm back from the baby shower.  It was a lot of fun, actually - very nice folks, good food (I hadn't intended to eat at all but it was yummilicious and I ate quite a bit - details in the notes), and the time just whizzed by.

I'm going to finish watching the movie I started this afternoon so I can tell you all about it in the notes.

Finally we grabbed a cab for the climax to the day

"A Little of What You Fancy"  starring Mr. Anthony Morelli and some other people  ;D

What a wonderful evening!!! Mr. Vixmom was especially impressed.  He told us that there was a show that ran on the BBC for years that was a British Music Hall and that this was every bit as good.  He said that it was quite authntic and with one exception, the the British accents were quite well done.  In fact when we saw the actor who played the chairman, he was quite suprised that he was not actually English.

Out very own dear bk was invoked in the pages of the program,  one of the actors, Mr. Kristopher Monroe, whom many of you met at bk's last book reading/signing  wrote in his bio "
Quote
recently appeared in Bruce Kimmel's musical  Bus and Truck!

Unfortunately both the Vixter and Mr. Morelli were uite tired after the long day and we were unable to go for after show refreshments, however we did have an opportunity to have a nice chat with DR Ben before the show and during the "interval", and with Ben and his Anthiny after the show.

Stupidly, I took no pictures (well of course I couldn;t during the show as that is forbidden, but afterwards, well that was just forgetfulness)

We walked back to the parking garage, collected the car and began the drive back to the Island of Long.  Mr.l Vixmom decide he needed soem water so we stopped at the Duane Reade at 79th and Fourth Avenue (ior Third perhaps?)  while Mr. V ran in for some water, I stayed behind and noticed smoke arising from the hood

I turned off the engne lifted the hood... remember that coolant I paid extra for on page 6?  Well they darn well didn't put it in!!! (I shall have some harsh words for them when they reopen on Monday)  When Mr. V aried back at the car I explained the porblem and off he went back to the Duane Reade  where they did not have automobile radiator coolant in stock (and they call themselves a drug store!) so he bought two gallons of Poland Spring water which seemed to work fine, thank you very much.

and then we drove home and lived happily ever after

Oh, today I went to church where we celebrated Pentecost by wearing red and parading children through the church aisles, who sang while waving cardboard doves and flames around.  Then we all stood out on the church lawn and  while our Pastor released a white dove into the air.

The I came home and weeded the front and rear flower gardens, raked up all the left over leaves, used by little gardener's claw to loosen the soil and mix in enriched potting soil and then I transplanted three flats of impatians.  I also seeded the rear garden with marigolds.  Two more flats still plant.  Oh my shoulders ache.

DR Rodzinski, come on out to the Island, I'll be happy to share my yard with you!!

HP Sauce on Eggs & sausage

Hellmans Real Mayonaise or Kraft Mayonaise in my tuna salad or deviled eggs

Heinz 57 ketchup on my burgers

Guldens Brown Mustard for my hotdogs

French's Honey Mustard on the occassional sandwich (although usually I eat my sandwiches sans condiments)

Thank you Vixmom.

The Old Time Music Hall Programme was from Leeds Yorkshire.  The MC was the father of Andrew Sacks (SP) who was Manuel in Fawlty Towers. The audience dressed in appropriate fashion for turn of the century theatre

Leeds still has a theatre devoted to the Music Hall tradition.

The TV show was quite popular here in OZ.

Yes.  Mr. V said that they audience was required to come in Victorian dress, anyone not so attired would not be admitted, and they had a three year waiting list to attend as an audience member!

He was wondering if the show was still running or if it were available on DVD.  Would you know?

I'll see if I can find out. The show is still running "live" in Leeds but I don't think it is televised. I'll check for availablity of the DVds but I think it may only be old Video from the BBC if at all.

I left my room because I heard my brother calling my name, and ended up going on a four-and-a-half-hour field trip with him to the mall, Krispy Kreme, and a bunch of other places. His boss's daughter's birthday is coming up and he needed me to help him pick something out for her. He's only ever met this girl once, so I'm not sure why he needs to get her a birthday present, but there you go.

He did his Jerry Seinfeld impression for me. It sounded exactly like Marlon Brando.

I've finally caught up.  I watched the ABC line-up and "Desperate Housewives" just ended.  I'm taping "Grey's Anatomy" because I have to go to the store and get stuff for my Relay For Life team's bi-weekly bakesale.  I haven't brought anything for the last couple of bakesales and I feel guilty about it.  I must bake/bring something!  I'm thinking fudge!  MMMmmm!!  It's actually quick and easy. ;D ;D ;D

The British Embassy here in DC holds an Annual Music Hall... well.. annually.  It's a fund-raiser.  It's quite the festive affair.  It's been a while since I've been, but quite the authentic evening of entertainment.

Earlier today, I was compiling a 2-CD compilation of songs for a woman that I work with who is retiring from the library after 31 years!  She's the administrative secretary and knows everything!  I didn't have to choose any of the songs (fortunately), but since I have the equipment to copy and burn CDs, I said that I'd put it all together.  The CDs will be played at her goodbye lunch, which will be a spaghetti feed-fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life!  She's also on the team and thought that instead of being taken out to a fancy restaurant, she'd like to have a guaranteed money-maker fundraiser lunch (they're always popular) for her send-off! ;D
