I watched DUCK SOUP this afternoon, and the transfer was immaculate. What a terrific movie!

Thanks for the advice, DR JRand. I'm just so tired, and being a bit under the weather these last few days has put me in a funk, too, that makes even the thought of doing another show so soon very daunting. Let's see how the next couple of nights go.

Hello new Dear Reader Iris. Do you like Cherry Coke?

I'm going to go force myself to work on this paper now. And I have a final early tomorrow morning in my Shakespeare class. I'm really looking forward to that.

My question:  how do people like having Dec. birthdays so close to Christmas, Chanukah, or whatever winter holidays you celebrate?

It's a bummer.  And not only is my birthday one week before Christmas, my sister's birthday is the day after mine.

Try having a birthday that falls on or around Yom Kippur every year!   :P

Fletcher the amazing deaf Dalmation amazed us again today.  We had to put him in his crate, as we had shopping to do in Dover and he can get quite destructive if we don't restrict him somehow.  When we got home, he was out of his crate.  No, I hadn't forgotten to lock the door; he had somehow broken through the TOP of the crate and climbed out!

Fortunately, the only damage he did to himself was a scratch on the bridge of his nose.  The crate can be repaired, of course, but the thought of him injuring himself is downright scary.

I've always thought myself lucky, having my birthday in August.  There are no holidays that month, nothing to distract from my very own important day.

Of course, der B has his birthday eight days before mine, so we celebrate the entire week.

I strongly suggest everyone who has a lousy birthdate consider transferring their birthday to August.  If you can change your name, you should be able to change your date of birth.  (There are people who have been changing their birth year for decades, if not longer; changing the day should be a simple thing to do in comparison!)

Working on Portland, but Marcy the Marketing Lady is finding resistance from the mystery store and Powell's say they only like to have "names".  If anyone in the area would like to call these two stores and give them a piece of your mind and tell them we will fill the joint to the rafters, then please do so.

Dear reader Panni took me out for a splendidly splendid dinner at Spark - I had the Rib Eye Steak - very yummilicious.  They didn't have the pasta dish that I so loved last time I was there.  She also brought a Parisienne Cake - she has the photographs which she will post.    I'm gonna try to get to bed by ten, but who knows if I will or not.  What a lovelier than lovely birthday this was, thanks to all of you dear, dear hainsies/kimlets.

Welcome, dear lurker-now-reader Iris.  Dear lurker/reader Iris got to meet the lovelier than lovely elmore last night.

The birthday bash (perhaps bashette - as there were only two of us) was, as bk said, splendid. And here are a few photos to prove it...

BK - I am passing on Birthday Greetings from Gerry McIntyre!  He wishes you all the best... and something else I can't really say in public. ;)

*Maybe you could book an appearance at the mystery bookstore in DC sometime between now and mid-February.  Then you could come see the show and see Gerry too.

Oh - and I had halibut. Quite tasty with a lightly spicy tomato sauce. But no garnish to speak of. Just a piece of fish - sitting there like so much fish on top of "broccolini." (translation: squished broccoli). Luckily, bk had ordered mushrooms on the side, so I dug into those. Yummy.

It won't be if some WUSSBURGERS don't get their butt cheeks back in there.  The new notes will be up within the half-hour.

Here is a rerun of a picture of St. Peter. There is no reason to show this photo right now, but it does add a certain elevated spirit to the proceedings...
