DR Cillaliz, whenever you think you're having a bad day think of the people on that adrift Carnival cruise ship!

LOL, you're not the first person to say that.   Sometimes when I'm having a bad day I go visit a client in jail.  it tends to give me perspective

And I hope the people on the Carnival cruise thought about the people on the Titanic cruise.

Does anyone have a steam iron that just steams?  If so how do you like it?  I thought I was buying a regular iron with extra steaming power and was going to give it a try today except my shoulder is still very sore from PT yesterday.  I have no idea how this works.  It is from Costco so I can return it if I don't like it.

I have a Tobi garment steamer that I am quite happy with

Does it look like a professional steamer or like an iron?  Mine looks like an iron.

DR Jane that spam article is funny.  They've been saying it everywhere in the media that all the passengers are eating spam. And it's not even true!

I know.:)  Spam was delivered.  It will be funny to find out passengers complain they didn't any any Spam.

The pharmacy tech at my drug store is supposed  to be sailing on Carnival's cruise ship, Splendor, in February.  It is her sister's wedding, followed by a seven day Mexico cruise.

Well... It turns out I know someone who was on that cruise ship.  Strangely(?) enough, a few days before she set sail, she started to feel that she should not go on the cruise.  She wasn't feeling nervous about sailing, she just started feeling that she shouldn't go.  Well... :-\

:(  I read about a couple, story by a cousin, who said the wife didn't want to go & the husband insisted it would be fine.  The couple needed a break after taking care of ill parents, or something like that.  I feel extra bad for the people who can't take the time for another vacation even if they have a free cruise coming to them.

According to passengers disembarking in San Diego, there was hot dog salad, green bean sandwiches, cereal, Pop Tarts, hot dogs mixed with deviled eggs, bottled water. And, said Chris Harlan, a dental technical from Buena Park, the famously maligned canned meat, which he said he refused: "I'm not paying this kind of money to eat Spam."

My dad wanted to buy a case of Spam at Sam's today.  My mother said "Don't you think that's a little much....but if you want it go ahead".

One very tired hostess checking in.  The family gathering was a success - we laughed, we cried, we hugged, we ate, we drank.  It was delightful to meet Richard's cousin and her husband, who greatly appreciated the evening and the tour of family historical sites.  As tired as I am after putting on a casual party, I'm so glad we're going out for Thanksgiving dinner.  I truly don't think I have an extravaganza in me this year.

it's a steamer not an iron - I have never seen one that looks like an iron - what is it called?

Thank you, DRs Jane, Cillaliz, and Vixmom.  We also invited the husband of another cousin who died very young almost 20 years ago.  He brought the delightful news that his son is getting married about a year from now.

Glad you had a great time Ginny.....enjoy eating out on Thanksgiving

I am really looking forward to it.  It was funny tonight, two sisters-in-law were here and not one word was said about Thanksgiving.  Like, "Ginny, since you had a HEART ATTACK this year, why don't you let us host the family gathering this year?"  Richard and my mom and I are going to one of our favorite restaurants
