And... I just watched the pilot for "Smash". Very interesting, entertaining. Alas, from the way everything has been set up, and each way each character has been introduced, I can already see some of the twists and turns that will be coming up. Or, hopefully, not.

The more previews I see of that show, the less I want to watch it.

I definitely want to watch SMASH. Does anyone know what time is it going to be on at?  I know it is on Mondays on NBC. I think I might have some conflicts.

I saw the scariest thing today.  I saw someone biking on a very busy road.

It was 5pm (so it was going to be dark very soon). ANd there has been snow and ice here. And the sidewalks are clear but not at all clear (you can walk but there is still ice, snow and slush). I was so nervous watching this guy. It made me feel sick. He was going on the sidewalk on his bike. He seemed to be doing well. But what on earth was he thinking?!?

This road is very busy. And it was very icy. And he was going up a hill and somehow he made it down (i saw that much). But i literally couldn't watch. IT was so dangerous. I just don't know what this guy was thinking.

I suppose he was also wearing dark close?  Did he at least have a light on his bike & a helmet?

Interesting!  Cruises Only sent an e-mail about a sale on Princess Cruises.  I saw one that looked interesting, so just for the fun of it, I submitted a price request based on a single passenger.  I expected the price to come back at 200%, typical of a single supplement.  Instead, the price for one person came back at 240%.  In other words, not only were they not offering a break on the single supplement, but they weren't even offering the sale price for that cruise for one person.

  Yesterday  JOSE SAID

Plan A) When you leave the Marquis Theatre, head west to 8th Avenue. When you get to 8th Avenue, turn right (north) and walk 13 blocks to 59th Street which will put you at Columbus Circle and the Time-Warner Center.

Plan B) Hail a cab, and tell the driver to take you to the Time-Warner Center at Columbus Circle.

Plan C) I can meet you at The Marquis around 4:45, and escort you to the Time-Warner Center.

A will work for me  if we get the bad weather I do not need you do extra walking in the snow-  I can walk back with you after dinner as I plan to park in the neighborhood

Hmmm, should we maybe stick to the Marriott Marquis building where vixmom has to be before dinner and where you have to be after dinner, so that neither of you risks more rough sledding than you need to do?

we can see what the weather looks like in the morning and revise plans decide then if necessary

She was really a very sweet woman, though.  She was the only one in her entire, huge family (11 children plus parents IIRC) who survived the Holocaust.

Did she survive the camps or with help from someone?

She was the youngest, and her parents pooled whatever little money they had and got her out of Poland or Hungary or wherever they were (can't recall right now).  the rest of the family ended up in the camps and perished.
Wow!
Even all these decades later, such stories just move me beyond words.

I got home late and put together a casserole that I had read the recipe for a while ago. It looks really good with pork chops layered with homemade sauerkraut, apples. onions and stewed tomatoes. There's only one problem. I forgot the part where it says it will take 2 hours to cook. It'll be way late before I get dinner.

This is the same woman who, upon meeting me for the first time, asked if I could help her brush her teeth.  I said, "Sure," at which point she popped out her dentures and handed them to me.  :)

The doctor prescribed a new type of lancet to take my blood sugar with. Walgreens forgot to apply the insurance discount and charged me $112. They had to ring up a refund because I was only supposed to pay $35. It just makes me hate the power of insurance companies even more. These are not necessarily prescription items, so you can know that the price is even higher for those just buying them off the shelf.

One thing I can't stand about CDs is the incessant use of DNR.  There, I've said it and I'm glad.  ;)

That sounds like a good alternate. Why don't we see just how much snow we have on the ground in the morning and take it from there?

I should proabbly read all the posts before commenting   LOL
