Tonight was the first night of Restaurant Week. I went to a mexican street food plce for three courses. the first was this dainty ceviche with four slender slivers of tuna in lime juice with habanero. Lovely. Then out comes four beef ribs that stand more than six inches off the plate. People are saying "OMG" as it goes by and I start laughing when I see it. I ate two ribs and the corn-filled quesdadillas. Dessert was a corn cake with fresh pineapple on top.

The whole week is going to be like this.

Found a book called "Be Very Afraid" about how we cope with the fear after traumatic events but we don't learn so much from them.  Very cherry. It was good reading during dinner tonight.

At the same used bookstore, I found the Reba version of 'South Pacific," the Douglas Fairbanks' version of "Thief of Bagdad"   and Dorothy Rodgers' "The House in My Head."

I know what you're saying.  It happens all the time.  Like even after the trauma of PORKY's II, I still let my friends talk me into seeing PORKY's III.    i'm sure there are many other examples.

Greetings from the Lucie Stern Community Center, one of the homes of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley.

I'm just sitting in the green room and relaxing before tonight's final presentation... I have a feeling I'll be crying during the final scenes tonight...

Is this a weird story about layoffs at the Tonight Show with Jay Leno?    If Leno really doesn't need or ever touch the money, why lay off the poor 20 staff people who really need the money to live on, why not just reduce his multi-million dollar salary that he never touches?

Oy!

These are public presentations. It's all a part of their New Works Festival.

-And, there are patrons who will come to each presentation to see how each show evolves over the course of the festival. And fill out the comment cards, and/or corner the writers in the lobby after the show. ;)

Actually, the festival is set up as a conversation of sorts. Feedback and criticism is encouraged.

I think he's busy tonight, so I doubt he'll think to stop in, but he's doing really well these days

Well, Ok, he can have some birthday vibes anyway.  They both can.  :)

Birthday vibes are very much appreciated,  just thought I'd let you all know he's celebrating

Let's see.  I Did some work on my yard and my shoulder was really sore so I came in and relaxed a little.  I went looking for light fixtures again, stopped at the grocery store and made a roast beef with potatoes and carrots that will last for a few days

Callie has been sick, but I think she's doing better.  I did call the vet, but he told me to just keep an eye on her.  She's been good for a little over an hour, so I think we'll be ok

I did do my exercise bike for 15 minutes.  I was really feeling cruddy, sluggish or whatever.  I'm sure I ate way too much today.  The bike really helped.
