Watched The Booksellers - I enjoyed it but it's so New York-centric and there are so many great dealers, many of whom I know well, all around the country.  And it also veers off into other directions that weren't necessary, but I did enjoy it.  And how nice to see a book fair with people and no one wearing masks, circa a couple of years ago.

Vibes for DR GEORGE and his family on this day!  I liked the photos very much.

Thanks, Jrand!

Well, today was a day.  I didn't get enough sleep (of course) and had to be at my mom's by 8:00 am, but I made it.

Today, they had a full liturgy (mass) and the priests referenced my dad a few times during the service.

Two men were in the chapel with the flag that my mom got from the funeral home, and a third person (a woman) was outside playing Taps on the bugle.

The two men ceremonially unfolded the flag, then snapped it fully open for a few moments, then ceremonially refolded the flag and gave it to my mom.  It was VERY moving and touching.

I was sitting right next to her and when it was over, she handed me the flag and had to look in her purse for some tissues.  Fortunately, she actually had some, because I didn't.

The priests then went through the whole service and it was mostly sung, but this time, the programs with all the text didn't have any music, so most people who weren't regular Byzantine church goers just followed along or watched.

The flag came from the funeral home?  I always understood that the VA provided the flag.
