Project Runway seems like a good mix of people. The Gary Numan looking faux British guy does seem like a joke, and the tattoo-necked guy is a little hard to look at, but I think the show will hold my interest once again.

Yes, tattoo-neck (Jeffrey) is this season's Santino!

My current favorites are Keith, the guy who won the first competion...and it was the first time he'd done anything for a woman (having been a men's designer/tailor), and Laura, the redheaded lady, who reminds me a bit of Geena Davis and Mame (or, rather, Vera)!

Ah, I feel better now.

Just in case, maybe you better have some ice cream (a reference to last night's discussion)!

Back from a jog - I actually dared to jog bare-chested.  SCARRRRY.  Yes, there will be a trivia contest.

OK... Now that that is out of my system...

The audition went... I'm not sure if it went well, went just-OK, or went otherwise, but it went, and I walked out of the room not feeling like I had totally embarassed myself or wasted anybody's time.

I had fun.  And that was the point of the whole adventure.

I do have to say that it was the first time I was nervous enough to actually feel and acknowledge that I was nervous.  And, of course, none of the nerves really hit until it came time for me to sing.  The sight-reading part went fine - and, actually, since I had not been sent the piano music ahead of time, I got points for sight-reading the piano material.

The singing went OK.  -Boy, am I used to the higher keys!  But it was passable, if just a bit nerve-inflected.  Breathe, Jojo, breathe!  And the reading was OK too.

It was great seeing the casting director again, as well as the music supervisor.

And now... I believe I'm in the mood for a cocktail!

OH..

And my production meeting for Dear Edwina went very well.  It was great meeting everyone, and Marcy and Zina truly couldn't be nicer.  I got my score, and I'll be spending the next couple of days learning and practicing it, and then I'll have a work-through with Marcy just to clear up any questions I may have.  And then we start with the cast next Thursday.

The whole meeting went very smoothly, and we were done in just a little over an hour.  And then I headed back up to 43rd to play and sing.

Whew!

Who knew one could get so much done before 3:00pm?!??!

I finished the other PennyO song.  It took a while to get the final three lines of the first verse (each consisting of three words, the final word of which rhymes) - got the bridge very fast, then just hit the right thing with the final verse - I just love when that happens - you're writing and suddenly you hit on something so right and so funny and I have no idea how it happens or why it happens but boy is it joyful.

There's talk oh yes there's talk that my dormant band, THE BAND THAT SAVED YOUR LIFE, just may play again in August. A little fundraising gig. So that is enticing news.

Anjanette Comer seems like an odd bird. She worked with Morse the year prior in a film called QUICK BEFORE IT MELTS, which maybe one day I will see. Occasionally Fox will pull out THE APPALOOSA and you can watch her act with Brando.

But if you are looking for another demented performance of THE LOVED ONE sort, locate THE MANCHU EAGLE MURDER CAPER MYSTERY, which is just one of the weirdest movies ever, and I often sing its praises though I only have it on a bootleg VHS purchased over the internet.

We need MBarnum to do an Anjanette Comer interview.

Congrats, DR Jose, on your day.  I'd love to hear more about Dear Edwina I'm glad it has ventured further than the Broadway Jr. version.  (or has it?)

I just got the score for Miss Saigon as well as the Keyboard 1 book.  Lots of synth programing and trying to get the effect that the orchestrator wanted without the callibre of instrument it was written for.  It's a walk in the park next to "trying" to play the accordion for Fiddler on the Roof that I'm doing now!!

The Appaloosa is Universal - they put it out on laserdisc, so there's probably hope.

New episodes of MONK and the delightful new PSYCH tonight, just as a reminder for those interested.

I am indeed interested!  DR Matt H, it's my memory of friends' appendicitis attacks that the pains are usually in the back, and they have a huge fever.  Since I've never had the problem, my memory could be faulty.  I hope the flutters are something else.

Red Buttons is gone....not my favorite in ANYTHING except Sayonara...where he truly did a fine acting job with Mr Marlon Brando hisself....

Not so hot in HARLOW and FIVE WEEKS IN A BALLOON, etc.

Wasn't he in THEY SHOOT HORSES . . .?  I thought he was quite good.
