Well, you've read the notes, the notes were my kind of notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently singing the Frank Sinatra classic MOO Kind Of Town.
-
And the word of the day is: LOGOLOGICAL!
-
Happy, happy, Doug R.
-
TOD: For me, it's pasta. Shouldn't go anywhere near it and my favorite dish is linguine with clams.
-
Good morning, all. And good night.
-
Happy Happy Birthday, DR Doug!
-
TOD: I love the angel hair pasta with clam sauce at the spaghetti place on Central Avenue. I took Wae-Ling there once, and she had the spaghetti with meatballs. I gave her a taste of the clam sauce, and she said next time that's what she is ordering.
They also have pasta with browned butter and mizithra cheese, but I like the clam sauce better.
-
DR Doug, I don't know how long you read before you jumped in. The children who live next door to me are Vietnamese Jews -- Mae-Ling and Wae-Ling Goldstein. Wae-Ling just turned eight years old, and we get along great. I haven't seen them in a while, though.
-
Happy Birthday Doug!!
-
well the week ahead looks to be fierce so if you do not see me you will know why
-
Good Evening!
It was a truly beautiful Closing Night all around. A Sold Out house. Great energy on stage and in the pit. And even though there were a few tears shed, everyone left with smiles on their faces. And there were lots of hugs, and "I'll see you in New York"s. -And since some members of the cast will also be in The Boys from Syracuse, I'll be seeing them again in a few weeks. :)
-
DR vixmom - Be sure to take a few moments over this coming week just to sit still for a moment or two and breathe.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR DOUG R!!!!!
-
And now...
I need to take care of the last little(!) bit of packing, and then try to get a few hours of sleep before I head down to Union Station in the morning with my brother.
Thanks to Everyone for their Well Wishes, and for sharing this journey with me.
Goodnight.
-
A very happy birthday to you DR DougR! Hope it is a fantastic day!!

I'm up, packed, and shortly I shall be on my way to the airport.
-
Good morning, all! At 5 am, i figured I wasn't going to sleep any more, so I'm up, bathed and dressed. My goal is to be out of here no later than 7:15. Around 7am, I will check back, say goodbye, and shut down the computer.
My train is at 8:10, so that will give me time to pick up my ticket and some smackerels for the trip. I'm heading to the "quiet car" and hoepfully sleeping the whole ride. I'm taking two books, one on the last two comic operas by Gilbert & Sullivan and the novel GOWNS BY ROBERTA.
BK, even though I read your notes every day, I somehow thought you were heading out last night, so I wsh you Excellent Travel Vibes & Xylophones again this morning!
DR Jose, I am so sorry I missed your show, but I hope I can see you in the City after I return on Wed. night.
I don't have much else to report. as for the TOD: pastry! I have a horrible sweet tooth and my current craving is Artie's birthday cake. it's lethal.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday To Our New DR DougR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I think I got some sleep.
-
Oh! And it's relatively cool/cold here in Fairfax, Virginia right now.
DR elmore - You might want to bring a light jacket with you. If not for the weather, at least for the Amtrak train car.

As for the Topic of the Day...
Well...

Greetings from the airport. Despite arriving an hour earlier than I did to LAX, in Chicago, that toddlin' town there was a long line - even the Premiere Line was long. So, instead of taking the three minutes that it took to go through security in LA at six-fifteen, at five-fifteen it took about twenty minutes. And, unlike LA, here I had to go through the body scanner, which, I have to say, is a little off-putting.
-
I'm now in the Red Carpet Club and we don't board for a little over an hour.
-
I'm shutting down the computer and heading out. At some point I'll check in from the hotel's computers.
Have a good day, everyone!
-
Happy birthday, Doug!!!!!

Travel vibes to elmore, Jose and BK!

Page 2 already at 7:15 am eastern time. Wow!
-
Happy Doug Day!
-
Good morning, all!! I had such a nice visit with my sweet Elmore yesterday - he looks happy and robustly healthy, which made me so glad after what he has been through in the past several years. The years just folded up into another dimension, and it felt as if we might have met at Artie's just last week.
I got the special info about certain musical numbers from Roberta - I do love Jerome Kern... his music is so darn SINGABLE, and the melodies are sublime. So I'm overjoyed for Elmo that he gets to spend some quality time with that score in the next several months.
I got the stories of amazing synchronicities surrounding his great success in Dublin - strange coincidences that resulted in his dream cast, and the happiness surrounding the whole project.
I heard about the new project that resulted from some traditional holiday song arrangements - again, just too strange how charmed a life our Elmo lives... and I'm meeting his collaborator on said project this afternoon, with the hope and anticipation that he'll find me old enough and fierce enough for a killer role they've written... since several cast members of the new show will be required to play guitars and banjos, I'm feeling WAY confident -
Best travel vibes for our pals who are traveling today -
Oh, life is grand, isn't it!!!
-
Happy Birthday to DR DOUG R
-
Travel vibes for MR BK, DR JOSE, and DR ELMORE.
Hmmmm.....and I am staying in the same damned place.

Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm on the bus back up to NYC!
-
Monday morning greetings! Cool and dreary here in SW Ohio today. I have a lot of puttering to do and a doctor's appointment (routine follow-up) this afternoon.
-
And now I'm going to zonk out for a bit.

Travel vibes for our travelers today!

Ditto!
-
I had a very nice time at Ray Courts' show in Chicago...once I got there.
But, I gotta tell you: I hate traveling.
When I got to the Chicago airport last night for my trip home, I Security buzzer went off on me.
I was pulled aside for a random check. I machine chose me.
They did some sort of chemical test on my shoes...then they released me.
Stupid!
-
The plane was about a half hour early, so I got home at about midnight.
I was asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.
-
Happy Birthday, DR Doug!
-
TOD: As far as unhealthy food goes, just remember that UNHEALTHY is in the eye of the beholder.
-
And the vibes. Oh yes, the vibes. Vibes for everyone. A vibe for all seasons!
-
TOD: I have so many unhealthy foods I love to eat: M&M's; candy corn; Hostess cupcakes; coconut cream pie; pizza. Far too many.
-
BK, sounds like you had more fun at the Ray Courts Show than I did at the Nashville Comic Con, but two flys finally collided there...and I met David Hedison who was at the adjoining table.
-
Believe it or not, Hedison is 84 years old. Still extremely vital, as is apparent from the photo.
-
The last time I flew all passengers went through the naked scanner in Phoenix. I frequently get stopped to be tested for chemical explosives.
-
Believe it or not, Hedison is 84 years old. Still extremely vital, as is apparent from the photo.
I met David last year at Ray's Chicago show. Very nice man.

Thanks for the bright banner elmore3003!

Happy Doug Day!

C'est magnifique! I'd been thinking it would be fun in Paris to see a French version of a familiar musical and - voila! - this morning I found this:
-
DR GINNY - the DVD of La Vie Parisienne that DR ELMORE was talking about is just great as well.....if you are interested in even more en Francais.
-
Wooohoooo.......I received my TFNM Blue Rae and T-shirt today......which MORE than compensates for my small Kickstarter investment......and I am not sure, but I may be listed on it somewhere....
AND it was autographed by Ms Cindy Williams and MR BK.....all in all quite a haul!
-
I shall wear my T shirt to Zumba this evening and have a look at the disk this evening as well!
-
Thanks to everyone for the birthday greetings which are very much appreciated.

Greetings from the Capitol Hill Suites! I am checked in, unpacked, and about to walk over to the LoC. I need to get my library ID card renewed.
I rode down in the "quiet car," slept on and off for a couple of hours, and I'm feeling pretty good. I suspect that around 4pm I will start dragging.
-
Someone told Joshie about his vet visit this morning, so I had a time catching him. But he got a good report. His mouth is in great shape. Well, except for the fact he has no teeth.

I'm at work and as of today, I [FINALLY] have a new supervisor (my previous supervisor retired in December LAST YEAR). We've been told that she's very nice...but I haven't met her yet. :)
-
Jrand, let us know how you like the transfer.
-
I'm home. First off, I only got about two hours of sleep - just couldn't fall asleep. The plane ride was fine, although the man across the aisle kept coughing and blowing his nose in my direction - what and ASS. Don't get on a plane if you're sick, ASS. We got in about fifteen minutes early, and there was shockingly almost no traffic coming home.
-
When I got home (I'd been alerted already) I found the kitchen lights, the hallway lights and the bedroom lights all not working, but everything else in the kitchen was, so I checked the breakers and sure enough that was the problem.
-
Happy Birthday, Doug!!
Mmmm, favorite unhealthy food... Off the top of my head, I'd say strawberry cheesecake, but I know that there are a LOT more...
-
Don't-get-sick vibes to BK!
-
I love unhealthy food.
-
Happy Birthday to new DR DougR!
-
Did anybody watch TAR last night?
I really did not like it. I didn't like the idea of the double elimination that they announced last week. And did not like how it played out. Especially the reason why people were last.
Also, I've gotten used to the equalizing on flights (teams that were hours behind get on the same flight as those who finished first). But there has to be some kind of advantage to finishing first or in the front. I hate hate hate that a team that finishes 5 hours behind the LAST team can be on the same footing as a team that finished first. And then their speedbump penalty was so lame. It probably took like 5 minutes.
:(
-
Jrand, let us know how you like the transfer.
Yes I will.

Live blog: Amanda Knox to go free after jury overturns murder conviction (http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/10/03/amanda-knox-murder-appeal/)!
[Updated at 3:52 p.m. ET] There was an audible gasp outside the courthouse when the verdict was read in court.
Knox and Sollecito were swiftly taken out of the courtroom.
Knox's family hugged and celebrated inside the courtroom after hearing the news as Amanda Knox appeared to turn around and smile at them.
Knox and Sollecito will go back to prison to pick up their things and then will be free to leave
[Updated at 3:48 p.m. ET] A jury has partially overturned the conviction of Amanda Knox.
The jury as overturned the murder conviction but upheld the conviction on the defamation charges after she accused club owner Patrick Lumumba of killing British college student Meredith Kercher in 2007 in Perugia
The judge has called for silence in the courtroom as applause erupts.
The jury has also overturned the murder conviction of Raffaelle Sollecito. Both will be free to leave.

I'm off to find out why my car is leaking oil & to get the oil changed. I hope I don't get rained on during my walk while I wait for the car.
-
Jane, he said Joshie gained some weight.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
TOD - anything high fat, high sodium is unhealthy for me, so I probably eat something unhealthy every day. Ironically, because of the meds I take, broccoli and grapefruit are also unhealthy. I just have to remind myself that there are lots of good alternatives and enjoy those as much as possible.
-
Weight vibes for Joshie.
-
My doctor's appointment today was a 6-month follow-up with the hematologist. The one I had been seeing has left the practice, but I liked the guy I saw today because he offered (with no prompting from me) to try to get my insurance company to provide a home protime testing kit. That's the blood test that I have to have at least once a month to determine my Coumadin dosage and I'd be a happy camper if I could do it with a finger stick instead of a visit to the lab for a major blood draw.
-
Sounds good DR GINNY!
-
Off to get ready for Monday Zumba!
-
Good news, Ginny. That would be much better.
-
Off to see the Outside The Box trailer - if it's good to go I'll have him do the Quick Time file and we'll put it up tonight or tomorrow.
-
Jrand, yay. It's so nice to hear it from someone other than me :)
-
I'm happy you all had a good laugh today at my expense. I actually go by the name Tiffany Lampe.
After looking at the original scores and orchestra parts for ROBERTA, I have no idea how Chappell published the cockamamie mess they call a vocal score. The parts show lots of alterations with cuts and revisions, but the Chappell score, which is the basis for the Tams-Witmark rental version is a disaster. Mark Horowitz found my carton of scores for The New amsterdam Theatre Company, so tomorrow I will copy those, look over the copyright "Gowns By Roberta" libretto, and begin copying the Victor Herbert scores.
My evening is open, so I think I will chill out, watch tv, read a bit, and sleep.

Well, I'm very sorry I missed all the merriment....not that I'd have been able to add anything original.
Bertha Fenation, for instance, is old.
Hedda Lettuce, ditto.
But there are some kicky possibilities, like Ginger Snapps....Cokie Kohler.....Helena Balzac....Anita Shtuppe....etc.

BK and DR Druxy, welcome back home! Glad you had a safe trip...and remember, those security scans are part of the reason you had a safe trip...be glad they have them in place.

Thank you, m'dear!! Broke 'em both!! Elmo's collaborator, DJ, is so charming, such a heart-centered, dear soul, it was a blissful hour down in Chelsea. We talked about everything. I'm taking the play back to my boss at Rogue Machine Theatre - I think we should do it next year, as a holiday piece. It's really beautiful, touching. I think it may actually go far - the world needs something besides Scrooge and Tiny Tim, year after year... can't wait to hear Elmo's arrangements!! DJ just raves about them. I expressed my strong interest in doing it - the part has been offered, but not accepted. So if the other gal passes on the opportunity, guess who'll fly in on her own wings to do this piece???? The characters are marvelous and the songs are killer. Who wouldn't want to do this???

My Nudie Blu-Ray arrived too! I thought it might be arriving so I watched for the mailman. I heard him leave the building and went down to collect my mail. Sure enough, there was a little yellow slip to let me know I wasn't home to receive a package. Well, I was home! I guess the mailman just assumes I'm not home on a weekday and doesn't even knock on my door! I went outside and found him walking to one of the other buildings and got my package.
-
I watched the Blu-Ray and really enjoyed it! It looks great--I was also amazed at the colors! Bruce, you look so young and innocent, just like the character you play!
I really enjoyed the documentary, especially Ron Howard's input! :)

Good Evening!
And I've napped!
*Of course, I didn't end napping until much later in the afternoon than planned, but I had a great couple of hours getting reacquainted with NYC. And I had a very good nap too.
-
I'm happy you all had a good laugh today at my expense.
DR Elmore - If you the time - and the craving - you should walk over to Good Stuff Eatery for a burger, or We, The Pizza for, well, pizza. They're right next to each other, and they're run by "Top Chef" contestant Spike Mendelssohn. -And I believe he's already back in DC after this past weekend's New York City Wine & Food Festival. -And, I have to say, Spike is looking good lately. ;)
-
DWTS spoiler, maybe -
Watching Chynna Phillips dance to "Hold On" may have confirmed - BRIDESMAIDS may have ruined the song for me. :)
-
Thank you, again Jose, for letting us come along for the ride. It was delightful.
You're most welcome! There were some wonderful things that happened over closing weekend, and once I'm a bit more settled, I share some of those things. There's even some video!
-
Stopped at K-mart today to get some keys made and while waiting I glanced at the DVDs.
Picked up GORILLA AT LARGE for just $5.00. Can you believe it!
No, I can't believe it, DR MBarnum. Now if it was priced at $3.00 or $4.00... ;D

Happy Birthday DR DOUG R!!!!!!
You don't get to forget about birthdays around here!
-
My Nudie BluRay with sparkling prize included arrived today. YEAH!!!
-
Fun trailer, BK!!! Really makes me look forward to it!
(I got it by the direct link, but couldn't get the channel link to work, though.)

DR PennyO - When? Where? How?
Hope you have a productive meeting with DR elmore's colleague.
Welcome back, Jose!!! Howz tomorrow, late-ish morning, coffee and catching up??? I'm at 66th and B'way, right across the street from Juilliard.
Perfect! I have to stop by the NY Phil in the morning anyway. We could meet in The Rubenstein Atrium, or 63 Bites Cafe in the YMCA building. Or.... More laters..
Okay - where are said places??? I'm on 66th and Broadway, right at Lincoln Center!I can't wait to see you, ol' pal!!!
DR PennyO - The Atrium is on Broadway between 62nd & 63rd. It's one of my favorite public spaces of the Lincoln Center campus, as well as in NYC. It's in the space where the rock climbing wall used to be, if you remember that. Why don't we meet there around 10:30? -By the 9th Ave/Lincoln Center entrance. It will make sense once you get there. There's a 'witchcraft there, perfect for coffee and a light (or not so light) bite to eat.

:(
I didn't mind it. I was amazed at how many teams missed the sign sitting right there in broad daylight. It doesn't bother me that they all catch up. You get a trip for two to some fun place for coming in first, so you do get a special treat.

I loved the series trailer, BK.

TOD:
Fried chicken!
I thought that was a health food :)

And thanks, all youse, for the good wishes - I'm about to start getting ready to go meet DJ. He sounds charming, funny, alla that - I anticipate a really fun meeting.
Break a leg, PennyO!
QUICK!!! Someone offer the other gal something she would love to do so she passes on this one!
-
I love chocolate and cake and pie and ice cream and potatoes and burgers and....well all of it.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
A GREAT BIG (and not quite belated) HAPPY BIRTHDAY to (relatively) new Dear Reader DOUG R!!
Hope you're having a great day!
-
I enjoyed BK's Outside the Box trailer. Didn't someone mention something about a subscription? How does that work? I've never heard of YouTube subscriptions.
-
bk - Nice trailer. *But what's with the 10 dislikes already?!?! Losers!
-
TOD:
It's not that I don't like sweet things, but my sweet tooth is very selective, which helps! I'm not a cake lover, but I tried Whole Foods Market's coconut cake the other day. Oh, wow! That was good! I do like ice cream, but am trying to stick to the no-cholesterol kinds, ie, those made from coconut milk or rice milk. Some of the coconut milk varieties are amazingly good.

That's nice that you'll be seeing them on such a fun show.
-
My Nudie BluRay with sparkling prize included arrived today. YEAH!!!
Mine, too.

That was fun.

I got the bad news on the water heater: $1885 for everything. Now I just have to wait to hear from them about when they can come install it.
-
Holy cow, John! Too bad you don't have a plumber for a neighbor. It's very handy.
-
OUCH! John have you contacted your electric company or your gas company? Sometimes they have rebates and incentives for you to put in a new more efficient water heater. Just a thought
-
BK, thanks for the teaser/trailer - I'm looking forward to the series!
-

Ouch!!
I hope my car repair won't be that much. They couldn't find where the oil leak is and put a dye in today. On Thursday I have to return for them to do something, which will cost $40, to determine what is causing the leak. Then we can talk repair.

Cheap repair vibes there, Jane.
-
I couldn't get anything much more expensive than the one I chose. The energy saver ones were all several hundred dollars more than the one I chose.
-
Well...
I think I only ended getting about an hour and a half of sleep last night ,and today has been a long day, so...
Goodnight.
-
Night, all.

JohnG...ouch!

I'm sure one of the usual ASSES did all the dislikes. Who else even knows about it. I could probably guess who it is. But the real question is why doesn't the channel link work anymore - it certainly worked when I first posted it. Any ideas?
-
Let's try this - maybe it's case sensitive all of a sudden (it certainly wasn't before) - http://youtube.com/OutsideTheBoxseries
-
Oh, I see what I did - I put an extra .com when I first posted the link!
-
nice trailer bk! I finally could see it --
-
I got home about 45 minutes ago -- I wish I wasn't so addicted to eating food, wearing clothes and living in doors
-
well I have to get up in 4 1/2 hours so laters

Someone I know did an episode of some web series and posted it to You Tube - so, I watched - are most of these things completely amateur with no thought? This thing was horrible, an excruciatingly unfunny six minutes. I'm sweating bullets trying to keep our episodes to that length, and even cut out parts of two musical numbers in an episode that ran 7:30, just 'cause it felt a little long to me. And the "style" - oh, Lord. I guess I could just do that - show up with a camera and shake it and jump cut, but, I'll leave that to the kids and just go about my business. :)
