Halloween Report:
Things have finally quieted down here. This year the police closed off four blocks of my street, which was wise, I think, as Halloween turns into a huge block party here every year. I ran out of candy early--no surprise as we get 400-600 trick-or-treaters. My neighbor Kitty and I then checked out the various "festivities". One of my neighbors set up a band in their living room, each instrument "played" by a skeleton. Former Governor Mark Warner had his usual decorations and such, inviting all the kids to reach into a trunk for an "eyeball" (a slimy grape). I did so last year--once was enough! Then Kitty and I went into a local joint for some pizza, as she told me about her more colorful legal cases.

Most imaginative costume IMHO: a man being sawed in two. A bit gruesome, but cleverly done. A large box hid his lower body. On top of the box rested two stuffed legs, arranged to look like his, with a saw blade, which actually turned, "slicing" through his body.

My question for ASK BK day -

I keep seeing other actors in parts on TV that you should be doing?  Do you still have an agent for acting....would you ever go on an audition or test for something if someone was interested?  Have you given up the television/movie acting portion of your career?

I continued watching the newly remastered 1951 SCROOGE. I'm a few months early, but I may not have another chance to see it if I don't watch it now. Didn't get to the end yet.

It concerns her deceased brother Keith. If others are curious i can share on the board.

DR Jane, it never occured to me that she wouldn't even try the trick-or-treating. Since she loves her treats.

But she was sort of in a crabby mood all day. She wouldn't put on her fairy wings at daycare (they had a party). Even though her teacher was dressed like an angel and begged her.

Then she barely ate the lasagna i made her for dinner.

She threw her cheerios all over the floor.

She did sit outside and watch a few kids in their costumes. Plus she fed her pumpkin leaves.  All she really wanted to do (besides beg me to watch Hi-5, her favorite show in my bed) was dance and scrapbook.  She begged me to let her scrapbook. So in between some of the kids, i let her sit on my floor and put stickers on some of the pages she is working on.

Only problem is when i turned away she had grabbed a pencil, undid the cap to my scrapbook glue and she was gluing the pencil to her page. :)

It's called Terrible Twos for a reason.

I didn't really plan on watching PUSHING DAISIES any more, but since I did plan of watching PRIVATE PRACTICE, I had the TV on, and I drifted in and out of the show. It did not catch much of my attention though I gather the ending was kind of sweet.

I do like Hamish Linklater (who's a regular on OLD CHRISTINE), so it was nice to catch his bit late in the show.

PRIVATE PRACTICE was not up to snuff tonight. There was one interesting case (a teenaged girl who one doctor suspected was being abused my her mother and one doctor who didn't think so). A couple of the other cases (sleep deprived woman was very irritating; the woman with Hamilton's disease (?) sad but very melodramatic) weren't written well.

And Dell being interested in Naomi (Audra McDonald's character). Oh, boy!

I've always said all it takes is an offer.  I don't know if I could ever go read for things again - that part is done, I think.  But, for example, if FJL offers me the part of Otis, that's simple - I thought about it, then did it.  Same with the reading here.  If David Wechter calls and has something for me on Bullshit! I think about it and then say yay or nay.  So, if someone comes to me and asks me to be in a television series, I'm quite sure I'd say yes.
