I watched a couple more episodes of FRIDAY THE 13th. One was the best one in the set thus far, a time travel story featuring one of the old magic lantern slide machines. Very unusual and engrossing.

And the best episoide in the set was followed by one of the worst, a sequel to a first season episode about an enchanted compact who could transform the ugly into the beautiful as long as you killed to give it power. Ugh!

RD BCT has just reminded me I have another dental appointment on Tuesday.  It has taken more than a week for the "bruising" to disappear since my tooth extraction.  (Maybe it is that I've had more to think of these last few days)

It's getting closer:

How's your head?

Nothing yet.

Hmmm...nothing in Laura's head - at least that's what she tells the Game Warden.

Nothing in Laura's head?  Hmm, maybe next year at the HHW Annual Talent Show we can get derBrucer and Laura to do a Burns and Allen routine.  She will be the funny one!

Thanks, Tom.

By the way, is it a rude question? Or do folks find it interesting?
It seems only in the last decade or so that Australians have taken that much interest in their backgrounds.  I blame the internet!

;D  It is fascinating the documents Keith can now find on the internet.

I think it makes for very interesting family stories. I have no interesting family stories. My DH, though, has a pirate killer in the family. And a US president. He was boring, though. The president, that is.

Which President, DR Laura?  My mother's family tree has Woodrow Wilson in it.

I was about to ask the same question? On my mother's side we are related to James Buchanan.

I'm not sure if that will work.

The Bunyip State Forest is quite near to us.

Back from the Met broadcast of Lucia.  It was very good, and the last-minute substitue lead tenor did a great job.  There were two humongous set changes during the intermissions, all of which we saw, step by step, which was very interesting.  The stage hands work hard!

Yes RD BCT.   Marysville is a beautiful spot - close to the Austrian ski slopes.  It is a popular "weekend away' resort within two hours drive of Melbourne.  Many of the old hotel/guesthouses are (were?) from the early part of the 20th century - still have croquet greens etc.
