We're having beautiful weather in the DC area the last few days.   I hope the 90+ degree days are over for the year.

I hope so too. Although, there's usually those one or two Dog Days of Summer that pop up at the end of September or the beginning of October. -Just be glad you're not in Houston - it stays hot and humid through Halloween.

Not a productive day. Only have two pages written on the paper that I refuse to get myself into the right mindset to write. Maybe in the coming week.

Change of plans - too darn hot to comp vocals at the engineer's non-air conditioned abode, so we'll begin that during the evening this week.  I did hear some of the rough mixes and it does sound really good.

"Too Darn Hot To Comp"

A) The tale of a jazz pianist working in non-airconditioned speakeasy.
B) The tale of a box office manager at a summer theatre camp.

I just came back from the Smart Chicks book tour. It was pretty fun. Lots of great female authors (two of which are favorites of mine). But unfortunately those two were the most popular and had separate lines. So after i'd already waited in line I had to re-wait twice. And I did so in the wrong order (picked my favorite author last and her line was the longest). So i ended up having to wait a while. But it was still fun.

Got some nice pictures. Thankfully I looked at the pics that were taken (they had someone there taking pics with your camera) while I was waiting in line. They were not good.

So i re-took a few and those were much better. The problem was the authors were behind the table and you were supposed to lean back. But if you are a foot ahead, and the author is 100 lbs. Then you end up looking like a big blimp.

So thankfully for my two favorite authors they let me go beside them. And those pictures came out really well.

So, where are the pix? And who are the authors?

The pictures are on my camera.

The two authors I really really like are Kelley Armstrong and Rachel Caine.

I also called my Auntie Ronnie who lives here in Boston - well, in Brookline...

My mom had called her a couple of weeks ago to tell her that I was coming up to Boston for a weekend. I know I probably should have called her before I came up, but, well... ??? So...

When I called her earlier, I asked if "Ronnie" was there. Well... Apparently, I should have asked if "Auntie Ronnie" was there.  Hmmm... In any case...

She called me back a few minutes later after checking with her husband, Uncle Bruce, and we're going to meet for brunch tomorrow before they head to their house on Gloucester for a few days.

Now I'm just trying to figure out if I should pick a place to eat - she said we could eat wherever - or leave it up to her and Uncle Bruce.

Spoo.

I'd have a place picked out but give them a chance to pick first.  If your aunt says again that it doesn't matter you'll have a suggestion ready to go and not have to worry that you stepped on any toes.

I was going to go to the sculpture walk, but drove by and really just didn't want to. so I went for a drive, ate breakfast out and then came home.  I've done laundry, made beef vegetable soup, played with the cats and baked some brownies.  The cats were pretty freaked out this morning.  I'm not exactly sure why, but while I've been home today (with all the windows open on a beautiful day) they just check on me every once in a while and then go back to sleep.  Go figure

I also got a letter in the mail that my car insurance doesn't want to pay for the emergency room and x-rays.  It just irritates me. It's the same adjuster  who never did return my calls about getting the check for my car. I'm sure between my health insuance and the car insurance I won't have to pay it ...well all of it, but it still irritates me

Jose, you should have very nice weather in Seattle next week.  It is supposed to be between 70 and 80 degrees all week, with no rain expected.

"Blithe Spirit" tonight. Not as bad as I remember the movie being. Not perfect. Highly enjoyable so far.

Gave the motor car a bath, and picked up one package.

With all the dust we have dealt with my motor car needs a bath on the outside.

I don't think I ever mentioned a little item I got on eBay cheap - a 35mm black-and-white MOS screen test for the Paramount version of Harlow - with Leslie Parrish testing.  there's another actress' test on there, too, but I have to have these transferred to see who it is.

Interesting, I would have begun with my health insurance.  If it is an accident do they decline until you apply to your car insurance company?

Come to think about it, I have not used my health insurance and have only charged the car insurance of the driver who hit me.

As well as a lovely walk on the Greenway. -I'll need to check it out in the daylight, but by night, it sure was purty.

Alas, the numerous groups of bachelorettes walking around with either penis-shaped hats, "noses", baloons and stuffed animals weren't so purty.
