Well, you've read the notes, the notes were beautifully designed, and now it is time for you to post until the beautifully designed cows come home.

Around 3:00AM, I woke up, fretted over a situation for about an hour, wrote an email to my publisher, and returned to bed around 4:15.

I remember a strange dream that took place in the house where I grew up.  There was a huge storm, the attic was flooded, and water was leaking all over the ceiling.  I went to check and found a cat with five or six kittens that I brought downstairs. There was no sign of water, everything was dry, and my brothers and I played with the kittens. There was a dog in the dream as well.

In another dream, my goddaughter Charlotte and I were riding a bus to Carnegie Hall.

TOD:

In the morning, I'd watch TV.  Usually they played an old serial, like THE CLUTCHING HAND or DAREDEVILS OF THE RED CIRCLE.

Later, you'd find me at Seattle's Roycroft Theater for the Saturday matinee: cartoons, a serial and a double feature.

What happened after that, I have no memory.

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dreams indicate a desire to help others with problems while neglecting those of your own.  Take care of yourself first, other things will take care of themselves.  You also feel a bit out of place in a particular situation that mixes business with friendship - that, too, will take care of itself.  Move ahead with all plans and leave worries behind.

When I was ten, we lived in the COUNTRY, so Saturday meant a trip to town.  We all had our allowances and so we visited Foster's Five & Dime.  The back right corner of the store was devoted to toys and books, so that is where we all headed.

And then it was home to play with or read the new treasure. I would also help my younger sisters if they bought something that needed assembled or cut out. In the summer there was much riding of bikes up and down the driveway - which was about 1/4 mile long.  Sometimes we continued past the house and down the hill to the field.  But riding back UP the hill was so hard, I didn't do that very often.

The Saturday afternoon paper delivery was anticipated because it contained the TV listings for the next week, and I could check out which movies would be on the Morning Movie, the Afternoon Movie (Channel 8 and Frances Farmer Presents), and the Late and Late Late Show....  Friday night on Channel 8 was always science fiction or horror films so I checked those titles first.  Saturday afternoon on Frances Farmer Presents was usually a Japanese or Italian sci fi film about which she always had amusing things to say:

"And now we return to 'Caltiki the Immortal Fire Monster' because....well...we must."

Dinner on Saturday was always sandwiches, potato chips, and salad.  And then of course it was NBC's "Saturday Night at the Movies."  Late movies followed sometime, if they were good.

I do love that Dream-o-Matic! As soon as my ship comes in, your Paypal account will never be empty.

Of course, there's always that dreadful possibility that when my ship comes in, I'll be at Penn Station and miss it.

Thursday morning greetings from beautiful downtown Overpeck, Ohio!  I'm sitting in my car outside the warehouse where our AAUW book sale stuff has been stored since last spring.  When it's my turn, they'll load boxes into my car and I'll deliver them to the site of this year's sale.  We have quite a caravan here...

TOD:

When I was 10, I would usually try to watch cartoons on Saturday morning, but that was the day of chores around the house, so I would, more often than not, be called upon to help Dad with something. It was usually something that I couldn't help him do, so I would sit there bored while he worked.

The rest of the day would likely be spent reading or watching something on TV or bicycling through the neighborhood.

Ginny, you can just divert those books to my house for a first look.

The first few loads are pick-up trucks taking our tables, so with my smaller vehicle I probably will end up with boxes of books - and we only save the "good stuff".from year to year.
