TOD:

Back in the days, at good ol' Burbank High, the Drama group would put on an annual set of one-act plays dubbed Trio. Naturally, one of the plays in each set had to be something very "modern," which is how in successive years I became familiar with Jean-Claude van Itallie's Interview, Eugene Ionesco's The Bald Soprano (ages before Gandolfini changed the meaning of that title) and Charles Dizenzio's Sociability (which was a piece of cr@% and didn't work in the slightest).

Then I went to Fresno State for college, and their drama department didn't do theater of the absurd, mainly because theater of the absurd in Fresno would have been redundant.

Just so you'll know, there are a bunch of James Beard semi-finalists in Charleston SC.

The Charleston Grill, Bob Waggoner chef, up for both Outstanding Service and Best Chef: Southeast.

McCrady's, Sean Brock chef, for both Best Chef: Southeast and Rising Star Chef.

Trattoria Lucca, Best New Restaurant

and Tristan, Aaron Deal chef, Rising Star Chef.

I wondered what happened. I was watching but decided I really should go for a walk before the day is over. It was SO beautiful outside and it's supposed to rain for the next two days. I skipped the end of the film festival. I did the volunteering I promised to do, but really didn't feel like going back tonight.

Well, they did partially "bake" dry. When I heard the buzzer go off, I first thought, "Wow, that was fast!". Then when I opened the dryer, I discovered the clothes were still "in place". However, some of the clothes did have dry spots. $:-\$

Has anyone heard any buzz about the Blu Ray release of South Pacific? I am curious if they fixed the color in the roadshow version so that the re-inserted footage matches the rest of the film. I hope it does.

Otherwise I think I will skip the release.
