I at least have a few hours in which to relax before leaving for rehearsal.

Fascinating link.

I sometimes forget that Elaine Stritch was once young, and was even still pretty young when she did "Company."

In the meantime, weird dreams abound here. This morning I woke from a very strange sort of reunion choral concert in which I was accompanying some group with a high school soloist on some piece that resulted in my waking up with "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid running through my head. (And it still is. Make it stop. Please.)

The night before was even weirder, though, with me sightreading some strange chart that turned out to be a perversion of "Dance of the Mirlitons" from The Nutcracker.

I do remember before the 2016 election then-Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus saying to CNN: "I'm not pouring Baileys in my cereal"

and that caused some late night TV show shenanigans.

We apologize, but your return processing has been delayed beyond the normal timeframe.

WTF?

We all got up early so I could follow Kristi to her car place where she'd drop the car off for servicing then I'd drive her to work. We were almost there when everything came to a dead stop because the police had the road blocked off for nearly half a mile around the car place due to an accident or something. There was no relief in sight so she continued on to work and I came home. Later we learned that twenty minutes after that, they were clearing whatever it was and everything was wide open. Of course when you're there, you can't know how long it's going to take, so you have to make a decision right then. But the morning appointment and whatever else people had going on was utterly wasted.

That's too bad, ChasSmith. :-\

I had a long dream last night about being on an Amtrak train.

I had to "shush" some rambunctious children.

I got off at the correct stop, but forgot my luggage on the train. I re-boarded to grab my luggage. The doors closed, and the train was leaving the station. Then I woke up.

I re-read this 3 times because I kept seeing " dreamed I was an Amtrak train"

I'm up, I'm up - barely - another night of not falling asleep - finally did so around six-thirty, so, four hours thus far - glasses are ready and I'll go get 'em as soon as I'm coherent.
