Well, you've read the notes, the notes filled with nachos, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating Hamlet Nachos and can't come home.

And the word of the day is: EXPATIATE!

Welcome six GUESTS. www.youtube.com/haineshisway - if you get my meaning.

TOD:
I love, love, love Mexican food.
But it doesn't always agree with me.
If you know what I mean.
And I know you do!

And the word of the day is: EXPATIATE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: ANYWHERE I WANDER

I had a good meal at Acapulco Joe's in Indianapolis once, but I don't remember the details.

Thunder and rain this morning. And of course it is a work day.
EERIE RADIO is podcasting from the store from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today. I do not know if it is live or if they then upload the episode to the website.

Saturday morning greetings! It's gloomy and drizzly here in SW Ohio today. I'm up early to putter and get ready for my seminar and my drive to Lima.
-
DR Jane - thanks for asking about John last night. No change in his condition and his wife and daughters are getting very discouraged. I'll check in on them on my way to Lima.
-
TOD
I am not a fan of Mexican food. Not even Taco Bell. Most dishes use cheese and for me that is a no no

Sorry to hear that. Continued vibes of all kinds

I RECOMMEND WHAT IF?
I saw the show in LA and it was a hoot. My favorite was Broadway Coming Attractions. I wished there was one or two more of them.
BTW
What If? makes an appearance in BK's novel Writer's Block
-
Thank you, DR Michael S.
-
BK,
Those selections from the revue are hysterical. What is the name of the revue and who are the performers?
-
I hear thunder - time to disconnect!
-
Man, single best Mexican mean? I eat lots and lots of Mexican food so that 's a hard one. A client brought Edith and ceviche with tortillas that was fabulous. I loved the guacamole at Dos Caminos at the Palazzo. I love the tacos at La Juanita in Sioux City. BTW, none of the above have cheese on them.
-
I love Sonoran Mexican food. Not fond of Tex Mex. There are a lot of people here fro Jalisco and Michoacan so I think some of the food I really like is authentic to those states.
-
On a completely different subject I had lunch with a friend yesterday and told him I wanted to try one of the African restaurants in South Sioux. There are a lot of Somali refugees living there and 2 or 3 Somali restaurants have recently opened. I had lamb that came with basmati rice, a little lettuce and a banana. It was spiced wonderfully and very delicious. We also had an incredibly good mango drink. Not too sweet. It was icy and delicious.
-
The Mexican restaurant at Epcot (San Angel) has been the venue of several of my favorite Mexican meals. Always a must-visit when we visit Disney World.
I once had an extraordinary burrito at the Taco Bell on 3rd avenue near 57th street when i lived over there. I've never had that good a Taco Bell meal since then, though.
-
Single best Mexican meal? I can't recall the food, but, on our first date-date John-the-Bartender and I went to Tequila Junction, a very nice Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh's Station Square. The meal was very good, but not as memorable as the company I kept.
-
I don't even remember the name of the restaurant where I had my best Mexican meal, but it was a little hole-in-the-wall place on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas, Texas. You had to walk through the kitchen to get to the few tables in back. The food was delicious.
Enjoying the WHAT IF postings on YouTube, even though I own the whole damned review on DVD.

Good morning, all! This morning I slept late, but the great achievement was bathing myself, shaving, and washing my hair. It was a very sloppy procedure, but I did it and I'm very proud of my achievement. Of course I'm now on vicodin and muscle relaxer to make the horrible pains go away.
DR Ginny, I am so sorry to hear that there's no good news about John's recovery. I used to see him on my trips back to Middletown when I would drop by the community orchestra rehearsals. Between 1968 and 1971, John was my only source for information on how Richard was getting on in the army; he was a grad student in the Miami U music department and I would see him quite regularly and ask about everyone. He's a good man and I send his family my best wishes.
DR JRand58, last night I watched the Morbisch Festival MERRY WIDOW; it's not as funny as IM WEISSEN ROSSL but it's very well done with a huge Act Three can-can number. The leading man Mathias Hausmann is fantastic. The two leading ladies have very wild hair, which seems strange for me in 1905.
-
DR Elmore - I will pass your wishes along to John's family, thanks.
Hope your morning ablutions make you feel better!
-
Good morning!
Hot and humid morning here, and it's getting into the mid-90s today, so it'll be a good day to stay inside which I certainly plan to do.
-
Sounds like your recovery might be happening in baby steps, DR ELmore. I'm just glad you a little more mobile and hope improvement continues for you.
-
After I had my oatmeal and read the morning paper, I had to sit back down with SLING BLADE to get the final two bonus features watched so I could get the review finalized. Glad to have that behind me.
-
I have a fair amount of TV to catch up with including ROYAL PAINS, THE MENTALIST, and THE FASHION SHOW from Thursday night, and the last episode of TORCHWOOD from last night. So, this afternoon, I'm going to try to get some of that watching and save my work project for this eveing.
-
My next work assignment is the four movie MISS MARPLE set. The last of the four Marples airs tomorrow night (WHY DIDN'T THEY ASK EVENS?), and I watched all of the others on HD, but since this set is SD, I'll rewatch everything and I'll begin watching them again tonight. Don't know if I'll have time for one or two of them, but I'll do how ever many I have time for. TOmorrow, I should be able to complete them.
-
Of course, I also have all of the soap opera shenanigans to skim through from yesterday as well.
-
Good morning. That is all.
-
On TV TOnight!
NBC - KINGS (series finale)
CBS - 48 HOURS MYSTERY
ABC - DIRTY SEXY MONEY
FOX - COPS, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED
BBCA - PRIMEVAL, BEING HUMAN (premiere)
H&G - DEAR GENEVIEVE

Page Two Dance!!!

I'm normally not a fan of Mexican food, but I'll tell you one meal we had that turned out to be "best," though probably not in the way BK was thinking: on July 26, 1996, Betsy and I went to a Mexican restaurant up the street from our house and had dinner. Betsy didn't feel well after the meal and wanted to go for a walk, during which she said she felt very peculiar. About an hour later, her water broke and the next day, Gabe was born!
-
Note to everyone: Taco Bell is not Mexican food.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I did not go to the Central Park Underwear run last night.
-
Instead, as I was walking to the Park, I happened to run into a my friend, Michael. He was just out and about wandering and looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. So, we ended up heading to the taco truck on 96th for some pretty good carnitas tacos.
-
TOD:
I don't much like MExican food. When we went to MExico, I forced myself to try lots of things to try to develop a taste for it, but it just didn't work. The flavors just don't do anything for me.
-
Now I';m going to tidy up a few things in the office, and then I'll head back down and check the mail before getting started on fixing some lunch.
WBBL.

Yes, folks, if you ever want to avoid licensing THE PRODUCERS, I can recite the whole friggin' show for you for a small fee. :)
-
And speaking of Mexican food...
As for the Topic of the Day...
Some lengua and nopales tacos in Logan, Utah. -Yes, that's tongue and cactus. -And it just so happens that DR elmore and I were talking about Logan, UT, yesterday. And I think I've mentioned this before, but I found the Mexican food in Logan, UT, quite good, and very authentic. After asking around, it turned that many Mexicans had settled there after heading el Norte. The mountains there stopped them from heading any further north.
I've also had some wonderful meals at both of Rick Bayless' restaurants in Chicago, Topolobampo and Frontera Grill. Even the table salsas were truly revelatory.
The conchinita pibil tamales from Yuca's in Los Feliz (Los Angeles).
I know I've had some great, true Mexican food here in NYC, both high end and low end. I usually prefer the "low end", especially the tortas from El Toro Partido, and the huaraches con chivo (freshly made tortilla with goat) from the late-night taco truck a few blocks from my apartment. Oh, and the tamales Oaxaceños from the carts that pop up on various corners in my neighborhood.
-
Yes, folks, if you ever want to avoid licensing THE PRODUCERS, I can recite the whole friggin' show for you for a small fee. :)
A few weeks ago, the actor who played Franz in the production I just did, posted as his Facebook status:
"Brazil? Who do I know in Brazil?"
Well... I commented: "Oh, cool! When are you going to Brazil? Did you get a gig down there?" Well... He reminded me.
DOH!
-
There's a suprisingly large Latino community in Utah now. Not the case when I was growing up there. In SLC they tend to live way out on the west side, out by the Great Salt Lake.

I dearly love our Max, but he has the weirdest inability (something he himself admits) to hear his entrance note on songs. If he comes in on the right note, he's perfectly on pitch for the whole number. If he doesn't he just continues singing, more or less intervallically correctly, from wherever he starts. Last night Along Came Bialy was a Chipmunks version, and Betrayed was similarly weirdly high.

DR FJL - I've had two good meals at San Angel, alas, the service was quite lacking both times. Actually, the service was good, but the kitchen was very, very slow. -And one time I was there as part of the "Disney Team". There's only so much time you can spend staring at that ceiling and watching the boats go by.
As for Taco Bell - The "secret" is to ask for an item without one of the ingredients - no onions, no tomatoes, no lettuce, etc. It takes the "assembly line" off of auto-pilot. And make sure you go to a real Taco Bell, and not a Riese-run Taco Bell.

Can someone who knows YouTube let me know if there's a better way to have the show description and cast info, which I wrote for every one of those clips, show up for people to see? Is it there at all? Since I link to Facebook, is there a way for the info to show up there?
-
And I'm up. And despite what I was told last week, they are indeed working this morning - hammering and drilling began at eight. How nice. I'm officially on the verge of going over there again because I have now been awakened six days a week for the last three months and I'm really overtired and ready to cause mayhem. Since these jerks have ruined the lawn on the side of the house, I'd say that officially puts them in dangerous territory, since they should not even be stepping on this property, let alone using it and having truck wheels on it and having workers have their lunch on it. I think come Monday I will call the city guy again and have a little conversation.
-
TOD - OMG!!! I cannot believe that my favorite Mexican restaurant is still open for business in greater Detroit:
El Nibble Nook (http://www.elnibblenook.com)
I first went there with my high school Spanish club in 1967 or '68, and still remember how much I loved the Flautas de Tinga con Crema. Haven't been there for, probably, 30 years or so. I've been wanting to go to Michigan and will definitely put this on my to-do list!
-
Off to meet a friend at Starbucks before the Chautauqua program...bye for now!
-
OH!
DR FJL - Continuing down memory lane...
During one of my first trips out to Los Angeles, my friend, Mark, took me to the Taco Bell that was on the PepsiCo campus out there. Taco Bell was still owned by PepsiCo at the time. Now that was a good Taco Bell meal. ;)

I don't know how you edit the clip information, but it would be nice to see the names of the performers, composers, lyricist (you), and the pianist (cough, cough) in the tags.
*And I'm not seeing anything under "More Info".

bk - It also looks like tags are automatically generated from the title. I think - I don't "YouTube", so... However, it looks like you may have to use quotes in order to have "What If" show up as a tag, rather than "What" and "If".
Maybe DR's FJL and Laura could offer some assistance.

It shows up in the Two's Company clips and I did these the exact same way and then clicked "save settings" - weird. I'll go in and see if I can "edit" and do it again - your name was there, along with mine, the choreographers, etc.

We were were building the church, I picked up lunch at one of the local burrito joints for our day workers. That was GOOD food. Sadly, I was eating a delicious chicken burrito when the doctor's office called with my cholesterol results. That was the last burrito for me.
-
I have no idea about youtube and facebook video links. I don't really want anyone but my friends to view my videos, so I don't do any kind of promoting.

And guess which episode of the American Theatre Wing's "Working in the Theatre" they are currently re-broadcasting on CUNY: "The Producers"!
-
I did all of it last night just the way it's supposed to be done and the way I did it for Two's Company, but none of it showed up. I just went in and edited all of them and nothing I wrote last night was there - it's there now, so check it out.

Have just begun uploading six more videos. The first of them finished and all the settings were saved this time - so something was clearly not working last night.

Today, I have to go to work for a few hours, then I audition for the Olympia Audition League (http://www.olympiaauditionleague.org/), which will include Theater Artists Olympia's production of The Brain From Planet X next spring!! Then, I'm ushering tonight for a musical revue called Sixties Chicks (http://www.harlequinproductions.org/seasonpages/09/chicks.html). It's a night of songs by girl singers of the 1960s. A co-worker of mine saw it and said that they didn't include any songs by Tina Turner. She's a big fan of Tina's, so she was disappointed with that. Otherwise, she said that it was good.

Have a good day, all!

It would be swell if people could leave stars and ratings on the What If stuff - the new ones are all posted now.

How could you be so mean?

Thinking of heading over to Smoothie King for a little yummilicious treat.

I would much prefer to patronize a Smoothie Queen, but I don't think that they have such a thing.

Running out of room on my iPod. Guess I'll have to weed out some of the early Jonas Brothers albums... ;)

Page three? How irritating.
-
I really really like Mexican food.
-
My 10 week old niece drank from a bottle today. Yeah! It is my sister's anniversary tomorrow and she was trying to pump some milk and get little jadyn to drink from a bottle before tomorrow.
So far she will not drink when her daddy tries to feed her. But I think with me she has really gotten the hang of it!
-
It is officially HOT here. Very stifling outside and completely draining if you spend any time outside at all.
-
I got caught up on some television show watching while I cooked at ate lunch. While I was cooking, I had yesterday's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS on. Phillip and Chance, what a frosty cold encounter (and then the previews were completely amazing)!
-
While I ate lunch I looked at Thursday night's ROYAL PAINS. Interesting episode to a point. Lots of unsaid information about characters which I assume future shows will explain. The tiresome horny brother still at it. If he would ONLY stop for a moment and think about what an awkward position it puts the women in he's always trying to hit on, maybe he could hold back his comments and come-ons for a MICROSECOND.
-
Page Four Dance!!!
-
Next I watched yesterday's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Some fine Luke and Noah drama and Luke so wishy-washy about what he wants from his life. I can't believe he's 20/21 and he doesn't know what he wants to do with his life: no goals, no real ambitions, just vague stabs at various things seeing if they click and interest him. Maybe lots of people were like then when they were that age, but I can't identify with that at all.
-
ONE LIFE TO LIVE had nothing of interest on Friday.
-
So I watched Thursday night's repeat of THE MENTALIST. I loved Jane's taking the pulse of the officer under interrogation, and he called it "holding my hand." Very funny. And the ending was very moving.
-
I know I set my DVR to record THE FASHION SHOW but it didn't record. It doesn't repeat until tomorrow, so unless I go to a site, I won't know who won until then.
-
I'm living life on the edge today and not shaving.

We need documentation....

Well...no one can say we didn't get to page 4.

Actually, I guess they could. But they'd be lyin'.

I find Taco Bell kind of tasty, no matter WHAT kind of food it is. Or "food" if you prefer.

Now I'm heading downstairs to begin my work project for today, and since it's so early, I should be able to squeeze in two Miss Marple movies this evening.

I like Taco Johns Taco Bravo...but I don't consider it real mexican food
-
I went to the Farmer's Market this mornign and ended up having a mini cherry pie for lunch. for dinner I"m going to have BLT (with onion). I'm pretty much eating tomatoes in everything these days lol. They are fresh and tasty.

People here know I really like Taco Bell - actually, I haven't had it for a while, so must go do that one of these fine days.

Took a break and watched the excellent first episode of Lost, Season Two. It's really feeling Alias-like now, but good Alias.

I suppose I shall go eat something, then get ready for Harry Potter.

I have been battling the printer this afternoon.

Chicken Soft Taco is not Mexican food? What is it, fish?

EERIE RADIO was not a streaming broadcast, it will be uploaded sooner or later to the site. Then we shall hear ourselves in all of our glory....unless it's like the UFO HUNTERS episodes that disappeared in post.

DR ELMORE thanks for the Health and Morbisch report. I think I shall purchase The Merry Widow....I love the venue...but I agree that nothing could be funnier than White Horse Inn.....which I may just watch again tonight....and laugh and laugh and laugh.

Good Afternoon!
Cleaning, laundry, organizing, purging, putting things up on Craigslist.
That's what I've been doing the past couple of hours.
-
DR Cillaliz, this reviewer says that there is now a new must have (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/25/arts/television/25wii.html?_r=1&ref=arts) for Wii owners!
Interesting DAW - thanks for telling me about it.
They took over part of Times Square for the product launch the other day. Covered one of the islands with sand - complete with a lagoon! - and set up cabanas where people could give the new games a try. Truly quite the site.

Don't know but I had to send that to Keith. Since hearing about deep fried Twinkies he really wants to try one.
-
How about chocolate covered deep fried Twinkie?
This looks great & I don't even like Twinkies.
-
Don't know but I had to send that to Keith. Since hearing about deep fried Twinkies he really wants to try one.
OH! A friend of mine wanted to head in to Brooklyn tomorrow for a bit of exploring and dinner. I guess we could stop into ChipShop (http://www.chipshopnyc.com). They offer all sorts of deep-fried goodness!
*You can even bring in your own items to be battered and deep-fried! -Although, I think they finally had to ban the deep-fried jumbo slices of pizza.
-
I don't think that looks appealing at all.
-
Well, at least not as appealing as a 7.25 kitten. :)
-
I don't think that looks appealing at all.
Good, cuz I can imagine what it would do to your cholesterol.

Well, at least not as appealing as a 7.25 kitten. :)
Few things are. :)

DR Jose, I stumbled across yet another CMU connection - Patina Miller, currently starring in SISTER ACT in London went to CMU, but I believe she was there a year or two after me, when I was only doing special event catering.

Deep Fried Kittens?

Happy Birthday Vivian Bagley!
-
Vivian Vance could hit any line out of the ball park......
Ethel: You know Ricky's temper.
Lucy: Yea. We've met.
Ethel: Well you're gonna meet again, and I don't want to be here for the reunion.
Fred: When you get out to California, don't forget to drop us a card. Just send it to Mr and Mrs Fred Hornisky.
Ethel: Or as we are are popularly known: The Tagalong Mertzes!

You might remind her that in the Sixties, Tina was part of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. He would not allow her to be a solo singer.
-
Hello, everyone.
Sorry to hear about your purging, Jose. Maybe it was something you ate? ;)
-
Der Lustig Witwe is going for almost $40! Whew! :o
-
My doctor recommended I have massages as part of my program. The medical center I'm going to offers medical massage, but it is sooo expensive. I found a little acupuncture center that does massage and reflexology and spent the afternoon there. Much cheaper. Color me pummeled.
-
IMHO, Tina Turner not only looks great, but she's EARNED it after all she went through.
-
Deep-fried twinkies? No.
-
Of course, now I'm craving those "Scotch Olives" I had at The Bristol in Chicago.
They prepare the olives like you would prepare a Scotch Egg - wrapped in a layer of sausage, then breaded and fried. YUM!!!
-
DR Jeanne, for years I had a weekly massage. It truly made a difference. Vibes this works for you.
-

YUCK! ;D

Yes. YES. YES!!!
*Served with a raspberry coulis to help balance out that deep-fried vegetable shortening filling. -At least that's how they serve it at the Chip Shop. ::)

DR Jeanne - Check with some of the massage schools in your area. They are always looking for teacher-supervised massage therapy session "guinea pigs".
-

Thank you, Jane. Yes, I did too for a long time. I found an OUTSTANDING massage therapist in Virginia. As you probably know, all are not equal. I was quite pleased with what I had today--no wuss massage this--and will return.
-
Hello, everyone.
Sorry to hear about your purging, Jose. Maybe it was something you ate? ;)
:)
Well...
I placed the ad around 4:30.
I had two responses by 4:45.
One of those "responses" just came by. She had originally just wanted the roasting pan. She ended up taking the roasting rack, the mini-food chopper and my spare salad spinner too!
:)
*She was very sweet too. She lives in Queens, and this was her first time coming up to Harlem. She thanked me for my very thorough and detailed directions - she'd never taken the N Train past Times Square. Her kindness was the best part of the transaction.

Good point, Jose. I've known people who go to hairdressers that way. I'll check around. In this case, I was specifically NOT looking for garden-variety Swedish massage--I was looking for something much more specialized, but I'll still check. Thanks.

I know with the skyrocketing costs of dental procedures, the students at NYU's dental school have plenty of "volunteers" lately.
And, you're welcome.

Anything interesting going on with the planets, Jack?
You start the week assessing your most important relationships when Venus squares serious Saturn on July 21. And you feel extra protective of loved ones with the solar eclipse in emotional Cancer occurring the same day. When the Sun enters sunny Leo on July 22, boldness replaces sensitivity. By July 26 when Venus trines Jupiter, you'll be more than ready to go out and play!
-
I would like to see a picture of a lady on the train with a roasting pan, roasting rack, the mini-food chopper and DR JOSE's spare salad spinner too!
-
Hamlet Nachos with a side of the Otello curly fries, please.

I heard that the effects of the eclipse can take up to six months. At least the machines in my life didn't break down like they do under those other things.

I too am cleaning and purging. My hiking group will be having a big rummage sale next month so I figure this is a good time to purge. It is sooo painful I need a good reason.

Be careful on CL--as those of us in Oregon know (and it made national news, too), there was a horrific murder out here a few weeks ago where a pregnant lady was killed and her unborn baby removed from her body (it died, too, sadly), by a crazy lady who posted kids' clothes for sale on CL.

Great, I hope this one works out for you, or you find someone better & for less money.
True, they aren't all equal. Until I really trust someone I won't let them near my lower back.

Today's posts read.
-
Listened to Topkapi. Very good. Glad I have 2 copies.
-
I used to go sit outside and watch for monsoon storms. Now I follow them on the computer.
-
Hi Sam.
-
Well, I'm back from my audition and it went. I think I did okay, but not great. I don't know when they'll let people know about the results...if it'll be close to the time of the show (next spring) or sooner.
-
Listened to Topkapi. Very good. Glad I have 2 copies.
I recorded the movie a few weeks ago on TCM. I plan to watch it tomorrow. :)
-
I have not gotten Topkapi, nor Cops & Robbers, nor Show Girl. Maybe next week.

My Precautions:
-Security door to the building. I do not give the buyer the apartment number. I have them call me when they get here, then let them in.
-Roommate upstairs.
-Front door stays open while the buyer is in the apartment.
-
Took my dad's car to AAA this morning to add to the insurance. Since March of this year, AAA now photographs each car.
Then I decided it was time to take a real drive (only drove it around the block until now). Well the engine red lines for being too hot maybe after 20 minutes, and then the 25 year old key broke while I was at the other end of the valley. $160.00 for a new key to get home.

And there's the still-pending case of the Craigslist murdered in Boston.

Hi Laura

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you George.

I should say I've always had really good luck on CL selling stuff--we do have to give out our address, but we've never had a problem, and I've sold everything from major appliances to DVDs (don't tell RLP). ;D
-
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you George.
Thanks, Sam. :)

And now, I need to get ready to usher. It should be a good show.
Be back later.
-
Isuzu wanted to charge me $160 for a new "pushbutton" key (I don't what to call the remote thingies that come with newer cars) when mine cracked and the little ring to attach to the keyring fell out. I just taped it together and have used a shoelace to keep on the keyring. Are my Jewish/Scottish genes showing?

There are also four police precinct offices within a five block radius of my apartment. And if they happen to take the subway, they also walk right by the police station that is set up right in the subway station - which is basically right under my bedroom.

Now... When I answer a CL ad, well...
I'm reticent. Oh, yes, I'm reticent.

Is this something you really want or might you find something better? Either way, vibes you have the offer.

DR JMK it seems to be the non key thingy should not have cracked. Keith has one of those for his car. It includes a real key to use if you want, or do leave for valet.
-
I think this is what DR LAURA gets first from her pesky printer the - Topkapi!
-
While waiting for the locksmith, I watched this take place in the parking lot next to me.
Car pulls in, really pretty girl gets out and looks thought her purse, gets back in car to leave. Girl backs into the car in the row behind her. The valet attendant (young guy) goes over and she says "It appeared out of nowhere, I never saw it". Another 3 or 4 young guys go over to help her fill out forms etc., and she says "I don't have my license, I was going home to get it". It was happy hour at the restaurant and they always card her.
-
DR JMK you have an offer on the table from me.

This almost sounds like a BK skit for PENN & TELLER.
-
Be back later. I'm home for the rest of the weekend. Except maybe tomorrow morning a short trip to the market and maybe have the car washed. It's really dirty.
Hello to everyone, have a good evening.
Off to watch HHW new video clips.
-
I have nothing else to say. I'm boring and it's still hot outside.
-
I have no clue what my best Mexican food was. But I do love me my Mexican food.
-
DR SAM you are not boring.
-
I tapped the car behind me yesterday as I was backing up to pull out. I saw the car & tapped it anyway. I did not check if any damage was done, which is very unlikely. I figure if a car can't stay in their own parking space, moving into a large yellow area & into my parking space, they deserve to be tapped.
-
DR Sam you are not boring. I enjoy your posts. :)

When I left my seminar and turned my phone back on, there were 2 voicemails waiting for me:
The good news was Richard calling from his clergy meeting to tell me that his ordination to the priesthood is scheduled for Sunday, November 29.
The bad (very bad) news was John's oldest daughter calling to tell me that her dad had just been put back on the ventilator after a devastating drop in his blood pressure.
-
DR GINNY.....what emotional moments in two calls! Thoughts and prayers with John and his family.
And of course very happy feelings for DH RICHARD.
-
And now I shall watch deeveedee.
-
Made another trip to BIG LOTS...they put out a ton more $3.00 dvds and dvd sets....
...saw FLINTSTONES SEASON 2, all of the various seasons of ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN (glad I waited on those!!) and the SUPERMAN dvd set of serials, THE 1930s set # 1 of POPEYE ( I might go back and get that), the entire season of WACKY RACES, season sets of THE OC, JOEY, MURPHY BROWN, DUKES OF HAZZARD, TRACY ULLMAN, DALLAS, 24, and many other TV series sets, plus a huge array of movies, new and old ....I got a lot of my Christmas shopping done today!
-
That man that has been arrested in the murder of Norbert Leo Butz's sister was the same guy that burned down the house last week that is right behind my sister's house. She and my brother-in-law used to see him out walking his pit bull all the time. The fire killed Joe Namath's former backup quarterback on the New York Jets and also the man's own aunt.
-
Thank you, DR JRand.
-
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you George.
Thanks, Sam. :)

This is for THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X! There isn't anything better.

I'm sorry you didn't have better news about John, Ginny.
-
Thank you, DR MBarnum.
-
Well, back to my Bollywood film, or actually Tollywood film as this one is in Telugu, not Hindi. It is a rather cute romantic comedy, and I am liking the lead actor. I am not as familiar with performers from the Telugu film industry, but some of them sure are lookers!

Der Lustig Witwe is going for almost $40! Whew! :o
DR JRand 58, what was the name of that DVD company that was selling the Morbisch discs so inexpensively?
Tonight I've been watching a Region-2 BBC broadcast of THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER with a very young James Purefoy as Miles Hendon. It's quite good. I love the girls playing Mary and Elizabeth.

Continued prayers for Ginny & Richard's family
-
Thank you, DR FJL.
-
I am ever so hopeful that we will get a storm tonight.
-
DR Ginny, I'm saddened by your latest news from Middletown. How's Richard dealing with it?
-
Hi DR elmore. I hope you sleep well & are much improved in the morning.
'night
-
Thank you, Nursie!
-
It is still 86 degrees here in Tacoma at 7:30. Monday it is supposed to start a rather rapid climb into the high 90's. Not typical Tacoma weather.
-
Hi Elmore. Good to see you up and around.
-
G'night!
-
DR Elmore - thanks for your concern. Richard is on his way here to Lima from his all-day clergy meeting in NW Indiana. We've talked on the phone several times and I expect him within the hour. I guess David arrived at the hospital this afternoon as all hell was breaking loose. We'll stop there on our way home after church tomorrow.
-
My immediate concern is getting Richard here without him falling asleep while driving!
-
Call him and nag him, Ginny.
-
That's what I've been doing, DR Laura!
-
Maybe he needs a good storm to keep him awake.
-
Maybe he needs a good storm to keep him awake.
That was last night!

Had some fun viewing experiences this evening. I began my work project tonight by watching the first Miss Marple TV-movie in the four disc box set: A POCKETFUL OF RYE. It's the best mystery of the four, I think, but the video quality is really second rate. Very soft and grainy (though it is anamorphic widescreen at least). Still, it was fun seeing it again (I still prefer the Joan Hickson version, of course).
-
The bonus features on these discs are miniscule. Text biographies of Agatha Christie and Julia McKenzie, text filmographies of four principal actors, and a montage of publicity stills.
-
Then I watched the second Marple in the set: MURDER IS EASY. This is the mystery that Miss Marple has been inserted into to share the investigation with the Luke Fitzwilliam character who solves it in the book. Murder MUST be easy in this book; there are six murders before the murderer is revealed. Miss Marple is a part of the case from the beginning, so she has more to do in this than she does in RYE.
The video quality was worlds better on this disc. Much sharper and more detailed than RYE was.

I had thought I might watch a Tarzan movie tonight, but instead I took WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY off the shelf and watched it. Since it's being released on Blu-ray before the end of the year, I wanted to see what it looked like on my "new" television using upconversion. Many sequences looked near-HD in quality (some looked pretty bad, too).
I'm not sure I'll buy the new Blu-ray once it's released. I may wait to get it used for half price or something.

I am looking very forward to Monday, as I will be having lunch with the star of this movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq9IKsH9BXg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq9IKsH9BXg) . He and his wife are taking a vacation and will be driving through Oregon, with a stop in Salem to visit me.
I watched the video. Thank you for the much needed laugh after the sad posts. I think it is great he is stopping to see you, have a very enjoyable interview. Is he stopping in Ashland ;)
Thanks DR Jane. I have already interviewed him and it will be out in Classic Images any month now. They are stopping in Beatty, Oregon and then driving to Portland, but wanted to stop and see me during their trip. Such nice people.

On to my next Bollywood film. This time a golden oldie from 1929, THROW OF THE DICE. This will be my first silent Bollywood film. I have heard very good things about it.

But before that, I think I shall watch a couple of episodes of PETE AND GLADYS, which I just got in the mail today.
-
Richard just arrived and he's still awake!
-
Great news! I hope you can both get some rest tonight.
-
Thanks, DR Laura. At least we're already here in Lima, so we don't have to leave at 7am for a 10am service.
'night!
-
I'm going to hop off-line now and write for a little bit and then head downstairs to bed.
Good night!

Continued vibes for the DBIL of DR Ginny.

I have had quite a day. I started with mowing the front and side yard. That took and hour and I got a bit over heated, I know when to come in and drink water, but boy was I warm. I shopped a couple sales this afternoon and then finished painting the living room tonight. THAT was a job. There was a lot of taping and prep work to do before I could paint, but it's done. I really like it. It could use a second coat, but I'm not going to do it any time soon. I am VERY sick of painting.
I am glad I painted half the living room a couple weeks ago. If I hadn't I'm not sure it would have gotten done this summer. I just couldn't have a half painted room.
So, now I wait for the counter guys to call to schedule and install, Chris and I will take out the old countertops and after they are in I'll touch up the paint and then I am done with projects for the rest of the summer.

Didn't see Harry Potter because I had the night wrong - the screening was last night - I arrived at the DGA an hour early only to find it completely full, which seemed weird an hour early until I found out that they were screening Public Enemies and it was about to start. Why the house would have been full for this piece of crap horribly reviewed box-office disaster, when it was only half full for the Star Trek movie is anyone's guess.
-
The girls were pretty funny while I was painting tonight. Callie insisted on being in the room and right in the middle of where I was working. She just sat there, but got really made when I tried to get her to leave.
Boo was very upset and was hiding in the other room. She's now sleeping on my lap. It took awhile to calm her down.

It's late, I'm tired and need a shower before bed, so I better sign off. Night.

Vibes to all who need them

Page Eight LA MANCHA horse head dance.
Tell them to hold onto the horses heads in case they ever decide to do Equus.
-
Went to bed and slept for 2 hours or so. No I am up and not sleepy,
-
Got us to page ten.

I am not too far away from a benchmark posting.
-
Well I watch the Doctor Who special tonight.
Now I know why I wait for it to come out on DVD.
I believe the episodes run about 50 minutes. The cable channel had about 30 minutes worth of commercials. Ten of those minuts seem to be "bumpers" for the cable channel.
-
I wasn't impress with the story. The acting was below par and even David Tenannt was disappointing.
The last 5 minutes or so were interesting and almost made up for the rest of the show.
Lee Evans was a guest star and was the exception to bad performances. I believe this is the first time I have seen him speak in his "real" voice and not an American accent.
BTW The episode is called The Planet of The Dead
-
I will be curious to see this epsiode on Blu Ray as it was the first Doctor Who episode to be filmed in the Hi Def
-
And one has to wait until November or so for the next episode.
Damn them

Well I think I will try to go back to sleep.
-
And I'm back!
Well... Where did I go, you may ask?
Well... I remembered I had a friend's late-night birthday partay to attend, and so I attended that.
And a good time was had by all.

But if you're going to wait for the DVD to come out, then what does it matter to you?

I set my "Time Offset" in the Profile "Look and Layout Preferences"(?) to 3.82. That seems to do the trick. For me at least.
???
*But, otherwise, it does seem like the board's clock is not aligned with Greenwich Mean Time.

DR MattH - The original "Willy Wonka" or the Johny Depp/Tim Burton remake?
-
DR Ginny - Glad to hear that Richard made it home safe and sound and awake. I hope you sleep/slept well, and I hope tomorrow bring better, more hopeful news.
-
And now...
Goodnight.
