Don't you have some books that you are supposed to be reading???

Chocolate moose is mentioned a LOT in the moovies!

DRTPUNK Mr Burt Lancaster & Mr Tony Curtis are in TRAPEZE tonight on tCM in about thirty minutes.  Gina Lollobridgida is in it, too, but if I remember correctly, I couldn't understand a word she said, so I don't know what her character is all about.

I am afraid you must be playing for the wrong team, Jrand!  With Miss Lollobridgida, in both TRAPEZE and SOLOMON AND SHEBA; it didn't matter what she said, but how she looked when she said it.

I watched SOLOMON AND SHEBA last week on Trinity Broadcasting Network (of all places).  Apparently, Paul and Jan don't care about the quality of the acting, as long as the Lord is served.

I always think of those Biblical epics as being big budget, high quality films, with the possible exception of John Wayne as the Centurian (was that THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD?).  But S AND S seemed to be an all-time low in quality.  I could swear that I saw Judith Anderson in the film, but she certainly isn't listed in the credits.

I've finished the chord charts and am prepared now for the pianist tomorrow.  I also rearranged two sequences in the second act, wrote a few lines of new dialogue to make each work in their new place and we'll see how it feels when we run it - if it doesn't feel good, we'll put it back the way it wuz on Saturday.

DR ELMORE I got a book about musicals and there is photo from a 1903 production of BABES featuring William Norris and Mabel Barrison sitting in front of a brick wall holding Mother Hubbard's children while they sing "I Can't Do the Sum."

I figure since it's in this book it's a familiar photo, but if you haven't seen it or want a scan let me know.

DR JRand55, thanks for the kind offer!  You might want to post the photo anyway, since I've driven so many other DRs mad with my BABESmania!  We have a copy in the office made directly from the original Byron photo in the NYPL Theatre Collection.  It's a famous photo, but it's fraudulent in that William Norris was not in the number with Miss Barrison, who was a rich young lady in 1903, thanks to her popular offstage activities with many of the stage door gentlemen.  She died in 1912 at the age of 31, from tuberculosis.

I assume you're looking at Ken Bloom's 101 MUSICALS?  I love Ken, but he got the plot for BABES totally wrong in his summary.

Speaking of which... A whole bunch of people from the Mamma Mia! tour are now back in New York City.  Some of them have joined the Broadway company, others just decided that four years on the road was enough for now, back to terra firma.  One of the people back from the tour is the merchandising person, Vick - he's now in charge of the Lestat merchandise at The Palace.  -Anyone want a baseball cap and/or t-shirt at cost?

;)

*And Vick's wife, Lauren Mufson, played Donna on the tour for about two years.  They both left at the same time, and are enjoying their time back home.

I'd love a t-shirt at cost!

Stanley Green's Broadway Musicals is the name of the book.

DR ELMORE I have S/S on tape....I can't understand anything she says in THAT movie either, but as you say the SuperStructure on display is certainly eye catching!

Well, DF Ann and I were all set to cook up some burgers for dinner on a new little gas grill we bought this afternoon, only to learn from DN (Dear Neighbor, in HHW speak) TCB that any little barbecue grills are apparently verboten here in our little apartment complex.  Sure would've been nice if we'd been informed of this by the manager at some point!  Ah well, at least we found out before we used the thing so we can still return it.

...but the burgers tonight just won't taste quite as good.

Not at all!  I blame Nathan for not telling us we couldn't use one, allowing us to get our taste buds craving grilled burgers!

Fell asleep on the couch like so much fish, but just for a half-hour.  Now I'll finish the lovely Japanese motion picture I'm watching, and then maybe I'll... maybe I'll...  why I don't know WHAT I'll do.  And I'm jiggy with that.

It's actually not as bright as I thought - but it will do in an emergency. You could read instructions with it. But I wouldn't attempt a book!

I had a super lovely day.  It was too nice to see a movie so we went for a walk in the park along the creek & visited the duck pond.  We saw baby Mallards & Wood Ducks and an adult Mandarin Duck.  Then we walked around town stopping for ice cream.  I had peppermint stick.

After we returned home we sat on the deck & had cheese, crackers & German beer & wine, the wine was for me, beer for Keith.  Bryan called while we were relaxing & we all had a nice chat.
