George did you find the name of the shoe store I managed? It was Hardy Shoes. They were an inexpensive shoe store for men. They were in business along the time that Kinney Shoes and Thom Mcan.

Actually, Hardys’ wa kind of the bastard cousin of Flagg Brothers Shoes. They were both owned by GENESCO Corp out of Nashville. Billy Joel made Flagg Bros. famous in the song “Keepin’ the Faith.”

Matador boots only Flagg Bros had em with the Cuban heels.....

Hardy Shoes does have one footnote in history (in addition to being my employer). Back on November 22, 1963, the manager of Hardy Shoes in Dallas, Texas called the police to report a suspicious man had just entered the theater next door without buying a ticket. As a result, 15 Dallas police officers arrived at the run-down theater and arrested Lee Harvey Oswald for not buying a 90 cent movie ticket.
