With the church's Music Director out on extended medical leave, I am stuck planning, conducting, and otherwise pulling off the church's annual service of 9 lessons & carols this coming Sunday afternoon.     Whew!     :P

Ooohh!  Do you need a pianist? ;)

DR Jane - Are you still investigating setting up and using Skype?

It's actually pretty easy once you have all the hardware in place.  Well, it's supposed to be. ;)

We have Skype.  We talk to our sons using it.  I have no idea if it is easy or not.  I know he has to "fix" it sometimes before it works correctly.  It is better than what we previously used.

DR Jane - You may want to look into getting - or giving - a Flip Cam.  They're relatively inexpensive, and the video quality is pretty good - as thousands upon thousands of YouTube users will tell you.

I'm not sure why I want that on my computer but I'll look at it later. :)

Well, it would be something in addition to your computer. Although, you could also hook it up to use as a webcam too. I was thinking something more along the lines of using it as a way to record (the send) video greetings back and forth, and since they're very compact and portable you could take one along with you in your walks, or one of your sons could give you a virtual tour of their new surroundings. *Disney Talent Casting switched over to Flip cams this past year as the preferred way of documenting their auditions.

We're actually set with a substitute organist.  But I don't know that we could afford you!    :)

The camera comes off of the computers & can be moved around some.  I'm not sure it is safe for me to record & film while walking at the same time ;)

Just had one of those stupid Airport Extreme wireless hiccups - lost the Internet, my wireless network completely disappeared, and I had to call Apple after I tried all their fix steps to no avail.  This time they had me reset the Airport Extreme, thereby losing all my settings, but it got me back on the Internet.  Then they switched me over to a wireless expert, and we talked through everything - put it all back the way it was in terms of passwords and naming the network and all is well.  He did say it's probably someone else's wireless signal colliding with mine occasionally - this has happened four times this year.  He said he could put me on a new less-used frequency, but the problem is it's only compatible with my MacBook Pro and would then not allow me to get on the Internet on my backup Powerbook, which we use for LACCTAA business, so I left it alone, but if it happens one more time then that's the next thing I do and the backup computer will have to live without Internet.

I really don't think five nights of Jay Leno at 10 p.m. will be a ratings winner for NBC......  But I could be wrong.

I was very surprised by the announcement. But i think it has potential. A lot of people love Jay Leno. And if they can just get people into the habit of thinking its simply the Tonight Show but earlier, i think people might just watch.

I know i don't usually watch at 11:35pm. But i might be tempted to watch it at 10pm.

I didn't get to watch last week's HEROES until a couple days ago. But I wanted to mention how sad i was that they had sylar kill elle. I've always loved Kristen Bell, although i never thought she really gelled on this show. That is until the past few weeks. I thought her character turned the corner. The trek with claire was interesting. But the relationship with sylar was really good. And now they kill her. Sometimes it seems like the writers are not paying attention.  Anyhow with regards to last night's show i loved seeing hiro with his mother.  I liked seeing claire in the past. But the whole thing with arthur was getting on my last nerve. Not liking him. And i'm hating mohinder big time (who i used to like). They also need to give peter back his powers (he was always my favorite). But at least hiro's story is getting interesting. Although how it ended up is not.  I am actually hoping that the bullet at the end did kill its victim and maybe peter can get the light's power? fjdaf oidsaufdsa ufopusafiofpudsaioufopdsaufoidsaufoidsapufdopuopu opuo
